Everything about our stay was wonderful, from the very helpful and accommodative staff (they very politely tolerated our limited French), to our beautiful room, the terrific dinner, and the lovely breakfast -- all in a spectacular setting. As it was my wife's birthday and one of her very favorite movies is "The Day of the Jackal," we had long looked forward to staying at the hotel. It exceeded our high expectations. One very minor thing that could be improved: rather than offering coffee at breakfast from a Nespresso-type machine, serve the coffee in a small pot at the table. Finally, don't miss the short walk to the quaint village.
Really lovely hotel and the room had an amazing view of the countryside. The swimming pool and spa areas are nice but they need to come around the poolside more frequently to serve drinks. The dining room is in a lovely setting, as is the terrace. Breakfast is good but the fruit offering is poor and it would help if coffee was brought by the staff rather than waiting at a machine. The room can get crowded with queuing at times. Evening meal is very good.
Excellent room, facilities and housekeeping supported by very friendly and attentive front of house staff. A nice selection of hot and continental breakfasts with excellent service. This positive experience was completely spoilt by a chaotic dinner service, a very limited menu and poor quality food.
Our stay in one of the suites in the hotel was very enjoyable. The views from the large balcony were amazing. We dined in the restaurant both nights & the food was very good. The staff were great & looked after us very well. Gardens & outside swimming pool we’re great.
A really beautiful hotel in an amazing location. Top quality food and service. The best swimming pool we have been in with stunning views across to the distant hills. Highly recommended and we can’t wait to return again next year - a real gem!
Very nice service, lots of things to do like playing boule or billard, a wonderfull view from each point and my room was almost made for a princess. At most I liked the large pool with view over the mountains.
La Bastide is a peaceful place with delicious foods, wines and beautiful surroundings! Staff is very friendly and amenities are perfect. Location is 5' walk from the historic and one of the most beautiful villages in France, Tourtour. Rooms are small, however cozy. We would have given it 5 stars if they had a bar area where you could lounge before and after dinner, inline with the overall ambiance of the hotel. This however has not stopped me from returning here.
The room was splendid. The services were very poor. There is no water supplied in the rooms and if you ask for it (every day again) they do not bring it. There is no possibility to make coffee or tea in the rooms. At the swimming pool it is very hard to have something to drink. They come at the end of the morning (nearly lunchtime) to ask you if you would like something to drink. In the restaurant is only one menu and my wife asked for an cheeseplatter and they had no cheese anymore. No excuses were made.Remember this is a french restaurant. We were there last summer and played at the tennis court, which needed to be renovated and was badly maintained. They announced at there website this year that there is a tennis court. I thought that the tennis court would be renovated. This was not the case. Anyway we played once and the next morning when we wanted to play again, they said it was not possible because the court was dangerous to play at. They did not propose any alternative and when we left they did not make any excuses or proposal for compensation. Mind you you have to pay for these services 425 Euro per night. There was one waiter at the restaurant (a young guy from Flayosc) who was very helpfull. Hope that next year things will be improved.…
Our stay in this hotel was nothing short of magical. If you look for a quiet place to relax, slow down and just be, I don't think you will find anything better near by. The view is gorgeous, the area is quiet, the food is delicious, the staff is the nicest and on top of that you also get two swimming pools and the most charming village just 10 minutes walk away. I strongly recommend, we will definitely be back :)
We were as always very satisfied with our visit to La Bastide! Very comfortable and beautiful rooms. The perfect serenity and relaxation place. A luxurious garden and a nice pool. A good restaurant. Helpful staff. Good parking facilities. Almost five stars! Just outside the beautiful village Tourtour!
