Globales Apartamentos Montemar is commended for its amiable service and relaxing, family-friendly atmosphere, with guests enjoying the variety of all-inclusive amenities, especially the clean pools and food options. Nestled in a scenic location near the beach, it offers picturesque views, though some travelers mention challenging terrain.
While recognized for providing good value, guests have called out the basic and worn rooms, suggesting a need for refurbishment and improved cleanliness. Despite the positives, the limited nightlife and understaffing issues are noted drawbacks.

There have been very mixed reviews for this resort. I will try to give a fair and balanced review.
We had a lovely, relaxing week, all inclusive with 3 boys, aged 10-16. The hotel staff are lovely. Special mention goes to the pool attendant who was super helpful regarding placement of loungers and umbrellas. He also gave excellent care to a guest who had been stung by a wasp.
Our rooms were cleaned most days to a good standard and the cleaning staff were also lovely as were the restaurant staff and those working in reception. The food was very good on the whole with a wide range and good vegetarian options.
We had a 2 bedroom apartment which was a great size and a generous outdoor terrace with a beautiful view. The apartment was basic but adequate.
The resort itself is quiet but that suited us. The biggest hotel in the resort is currently being renovated and is expected to open again in 2024 which has had an impact on footfall. There are a small but adequate amount of shops, bars and restaurants and our boys loved the dodgems!! We did a ferry trip to Ibiza town that was fairly expensive but worth it for a special holiday treat/ experience. We also walked into Santa Eulalia which is a challenging walk in the heat, but we’re fairly fit so enjoyed it and got to see beautiful Valverde that lies in the hills between Cala Llonga and Santa Eulalia.
Many people have criticised the hills and stairs. The resort itself is very hilly and the apartment blocks are built on a hillside with access to apartments via an external stair system. Therefore, I wouldn’t recommend this resort to those with mobility issues. However, on a positive note, it means the hotel surroundings work sympathetically with the stunning landscape.
The only reason I have given this 3 rather than 4 is due to our air conditioning not working. We were provided with an industrial fan but it only kept one room cool. Due to the apartments being fully booked, there wasn’t the option to move rooms but at least the staff made some attempt to address the situation. This also meant we had to keep windows open at night which meant we had more noise from other guests to contend with.
This hotel is at the cheaper end of the market and is good value, if you’re looking for a reasonable week in the sun to chill by the pool. With a bit of maintenance work, it could be really excellent! !

Visited for 10 days with 4 adults and 4 teenagers.
We booked 2 Two bedroom apartments and were lucky were given block D & E which over look the pool . The apartments were huge , and clean. Apartment in block E didn't have air conditioning for whole stay of the holiday, no one attempting to fix , were given 2 fans for the bedrooms .
Entertainment is a real let down and feel hotel are missing a trick with this ,there is a lovely roof top terrace with a bar which never opened so no one ever used this area, the evening entertainment is done in a inside downstairs room with no bar , again very few people use as who wants to sit inside and not be able to get a drink.
The restaurant staff work none stop but they are so unstaffed ,there are a lot of dirty tables, often no plates, bowls and cutlery available. The food is good ,could Always put a meal together, good variety of the 10 days.
Lifeguard at the pool is excellent always getting sunloungers , helping tidying up snack bar area , never had to set an alarm for sunbeds , was also able to get 8 beds still around 9pm .
Cleaners work hard ,but again understaffed so at times feel cleaning is rushed and had to ask for clean towels.
One evening no running water at hotel from approx 5pm - 11pm ,couldn't flush the toilet, shower, wash hands etc and also no pump drinks available only wine & beer ,what were the children meant to drink !!!
Reception, bar and restaurant staff all getting abusive from angry customers where was the management to offer support to them and help paying customers !!!
Walk to Cala llonga is around 7 minutes walk and you come across bars, restaurants and the most beautiful sandy beach bay area , really not a bad walk we did it each day .
We had a lovely family holiday, and have come back all feeling relaxed and full of great memories but just feel this hotel could be run better if the management were more invloved and helped its staff.

Dear Fergie, Thank you for your review and we are pleased to read that you had a lovely family holiday with us at Globales Montemar. For us, all comments are important, both positive and negative, we take note of them and we will report them to the hotel management to improve our services. Unfortunately we are also bound by certain rules and we cannot always realize our wishes. We would love to do the evening entertainment outside, but the noise regulations are getting stricter and we have to do the activities indoors. Kind regards, Globales Quality Manager.

A lot to digest? Read an AI-generated summary of recent traveler reviews.
The Hotel itself is dated but clean and tidy with lovely staff. However during two weeks of very hot June weather, our room (block IV) and several others had no A/C. On complaining we were constantly told that the engineer would be arriving the next day but didn’t turn up. Eventually an engineer from Majorca was flown in but could not maintain the level required. We spent a lot of sleepless nights in an unbearably hot, stuffy room. Bearing in mind that we were there close to the beginning of the season, there are going to be a lot of very hot disgruntled guests! The bar regularly ran out of vodka, brandy and baileys

Dear guest, Thank you very much for your review. We are sorry that you had problems with the A/C during your stay in the Montemar and we apologize for the inconveniences this has caused you. Fortunately, the problem has now been resolved and the whole block has air conditioning again, although this is too late for you. Again, we apologize for the inconveniences and thank you for your time in writing this comment. Kind regards, Globales Quality Manager

We are currently here, half way through a weeks holiday. Both my children have exclaimed this is the best holiday ever and I would have to agree.
So let's get the minor negatives out the way... Yes it's is hilly. There are shortcuts and taxis if necessary.
POSITIVES! food is fab, my experience of all inclusive generally means all snacks are unhealthy..... Not here. Fruit and vegetables are on offer along with burgers and hot dogs. Other places I have been see pizza on the menu for lunch and dinner. Not here! Variety is INCREDIBLE. And so delicious.
Room: basic but clean don't need anything else from a room so very happy.
Staff: fantastic. Generally friendly and accommodating. They obviously care about where they work. My son dropped a plate in the food hall, cutting his foot. All staff sprang into action, bandaged him up and cleared away the broken plate. I was so impressed with the way they dealt with the situation.
We would definitely come back here.we have come here during a pandemic and the staff and hotel have not disappointed. Everyone is wearing masks and hand sanitizer is available everywhere. I can only imagine how this place could shine under normal circumstances.

Well....we would never recommend these apartments. So disappointed we waited all year for our holiday taking our 3 teenage grandchildren. Went with an open mind, although this holiday was not cheap. The resort had no water the evening we arrived, no showers, toilets couldn't flush!! The staff were rude, restaurant was only clean if you got in when it opened. We had to clean our own tables and find cutlery! The food wasn't refilled promptly so a lot of selections were bare. Our room wasn't cleaned our bin emptied once in 10 days, clean towels were left every 2/3 days but dirty ones not removed. Our bedding was changed the day after we arrived and never touched for the next 8 days. Our air con didnt work so we were unable to sleep due to the heat. They gave us a portable unit which was useless as we had to hang the hose out the window. The pool bar service was rude. They often run out of drinks (juice/beer). The activities were very random (when there was someone available). The whole resort is trying to run with bare minimum staff and its not working!

Here's a copy of the email I sent to the hotel about our holiday.
I thought I would write to you to let you know how much we enjoyed our holiday at Glibales Montemar and to say that a large part of it was due to how amazing your staff were.
Whilst we are living in difficult times and the "normal" holiday is at least for now not possible, I think that all your staff did a wonderful job of making everyone feel safe and at the same time still managed to make us feel welcome and help us enjoy ourselves.
All the safety measures you put in place were fantastic and the cleanliness of the hotel was never in doubt, so please thank all your cleaning and catering staff on my behalf too.
I would like to mention a few particular staff that really made our stay enjoyable but in general everyone was fantastic so I hope no one feels left out.
Henneque was so helpfull and friendly and helped us feel welcome and on more than one occasion went above and beyond to help with queries we had.
Bea and Gabi were so friendly and on what I understand was a particularly busy week for the hotel, they never failed to be happy and helpfull. They seem to work extremely hard and I hope this is recognised by the management.
Enric and Yasmina also never failed to be polite, helpfull and friendly and I'm sorry I didnt remeber to get the name of the other staff member on reception (he was Engliah I believe) who was also a credit to your company.
We also enjoyed the food, drinks and entertainment (especially the fun lady who ran the activities who's name i also forgot to ask for) who made everything that bit more enjoyable.
I truly hope you pass on our comments to all the staff who made this a very enjoyable holiday and I will certainly recommend your hotel to anyone I know who is thinking about visiting Ibiza.

Stayed here with my mum for a week. The first room we got had a lot of stairs to it and only one bed. There's no way my mum would have managed the stairs every day. Thankfully the staff on reception moved us to block G behind the pool bar. The room had flat screen TV (2 English channels), mini fridge, air con and a safe
The safe was €40 for week but the shelf it was attached to was damaged and could have just been taken out the cupboard. Was told on arrival that rooms aren't cleaned on Thursday and Sunday but we had been there 4 days and had to go ask at reception for fresh towels because the room hadn't been cleaned. Was finally cleaned on the Monday. Pool area is big enough that never struggled to get a sun bed. The all inclusive options at pool bar were not great. Cocktails were premade and there was 3 options, only 1 beer was available. I asked one of the bar staff about the wifi and she told me hotel didnt have wifi. One of the other guests told me how to access it. At night was especially busy because the 2nd bar in lounge was never open. The food was ok but I wish there had been coveres over the food. There was quite alot of flys in dining area. One night there was a layer of moths over a tray of food and we watched as a member of staff just stirred them into the food.
There was some activities during the day but we were usually out and about. There was only one hour of entertainment at night 10 to 11, kareoke, quiz, singer. One night there was bingo, €12 each for 1 game.
It probably is better suited to family's who don't mind it being quiter at night.
Beach is about 15 minutes away but it is down hill so a couple times we got taxi back to avoid the walk back in the heat. Was between €5 to €7.

Dear Stacey, Thank you for the time you took in writting this review. We are sorry if your experience with us was not as pleasant as we wish and that our service did not reached all your expectations. We are sorry to hear that our cleaning protocol has not been enough for you. You can be sure that we will carry out the appropriate follow-up actions to verify that everything is in optimal conditions. With regard to flies, we have preventive elements such as lamps and air curtains, however, given that our restaurant is open, it is sometimes complicated. We will review the situation to check that everything is working as it should. Kind regards, Globales Quality Manager

Pros:
This hotel has a lovely secluded location makes you feel you are inland surrounded by a woodland.
The hotel reception and dining areas very clean and newly refurbished.
The staff are friendly.
The food was of a good standard always something to eat.
Good amount of sun beds never an issue getting one.
Cons
The fact there is only 1 bar open is very poor, when you go into the nighttime entertainment you don’t wanna have to go outside to get a drink and as you can only have 1 drink you are back and forth like a yo-yo!
You must hold your plastic glass of exchange for a plastic coin to get a drink. So annoying if you forget it and then have to climb multiple stairs, good system to save staff from clearing up bad system for guests.
The cleaning in the rooms is poor, the maids ask if you want them to go into your room and this makes you feel that if you say yes you’re a bother. It should just be done.
The rooms are quaint but there are definite signs of wear and this shows a need to a refurb.
There are so many steps everywhere not suitable for anyone with any disability or mobility issues.
Suggestions:
The hotel needs a shop, although Cala Llonga is beautiful it is very quiet and very little shops. It is a good walk to the nearest shop and the walk back is all up hill especially if carrying bags.
Overall I would return but a break of 4 days would be the max as simply nothing to do in the area. However I did think it was a beautiful area.

Dear family, Thank you very much for your review on Tripadvisor. At Globales we take the satisfaction of our customers very seriously. All comments, positive and negative, are useful, they help us to improve and continue with quality service. We are glad to read that you were pleased with the location of the hotel, our staff and the food. We are sorry to hear that you were not satisfied with the standard of cleanliness of the room. We clean the rooms 5 times a week and we change the towels as well so we are a very surprised by your comment that the maids ask if you want them to go into your room. We've honestly never heard this before. You can be sure that we will carry out the appropriate follow-up actions to verify what happened that everything is in optimal conditions. We apologize for the inconveniences during your stay and thank you for all your comments because they will help us to improve and offer a better stay to all our guests in the near future. Kind regards, Globales Quality Manager

I am still here. Thankfully it’s my last day. AC issues still ongoing, complained to travel company and after waiting 2 days for a response from Globales Montemar about a number of issues they were told no one else has complained about the AC; at the poolside I spoke to people who had complained! No food available in the restaurant unless you want to upgrade to All Inclusive, as a self catering guest I did not want AI food. Facilities in room are poor, 3 spoons, 3 forks, 3 knives, fridge freezer full of rusty frost. The lit goes on, I don’t like complaining but this place is shocking. The receptionist is unhelpful, she hasn’t been rude but she’s not helpful and doesn’t follow through on what she promises.
Pool is lovely and staff this is the only positive about the hotel; although should only be used until 18:00 it’s used all night, regularly woken up by drunken guest using it and then falling over on wet slippy floors. Obviously some people have had a lovely stay, the AC on day 1 in a place hotter than hell was the beginning of the end for me, having to sleep with 2 large pedestal fans for the entire holiday wasn’t acceptable!

Would not visit here again, the hotel is being ran into the ground. Upon arrival had to wait 3 hours before being given our room, we were travelling with a infant under 12 months which was not ideal. After 2 of days our air conditioning stopped working after reporting this around 5 times, no solution was offered not even a fan. It was left down to another member of our family, who's air con unit also was not working to sacrifice theirs for us. We were unable to eat in the restaurant due to the presence of flies, I have seen the hotels comments saying they have equipment to stop them as much as possible, that is not true unless by equiptment they mean opening a window..... So we ate out every night, flippers is recommended calla Llonga is a very quiet resort probably impacted by covid. The hotel only had 1 bar open the pool bar, which due to being the only bar open was always very busy, the children's entertainment is held inside at night however we didn't bother as it was absolutely roasting in there due to again.... no air conditioning. The pool area is the only saving grace, however that was ruined when the lifeguard picked up a dead bird buried it in the bushes at the back, then much to our horror washed his hands in the pool after doing so. They ran out of beer and Pepsi regularly, the bar staff are really friendly but are overworked. The reception staff are a joke and will not help you, as mentioned we taken various problems to them none of which were solved. The other members of our party were also let down with various things, such as ants crawling on there bed no air con and being given a smaller room than booked.
I would hope jet2 remove this hotel from there portfolio as it is simply poor, I have seen people say what do you expect from a 2 star which i understand, but you still expect basic things that you have paid for to be delivered such as hygiene. I would not complain about the hotel being on a hill as I knew that when I booked it, save yourself some hassle and book elsewhere.

Dear Customer, Thank you for your review. We are very sorry that you did you not enjoy your stay with us and we apologize for any inconvenience caused. The satisfaction of our clients is our first and most important objective, and be assured that we will discuss various issues you mention with the hotel management. It is annoying that you had to wait so long for your room especially if you are traveling with a baby but the guests have to check out at 11am and then the rooms need to be cleaned. Therefore, the check in is rarely before 14:00. The hotel has indeed equipment against the flies, in the dining room several are installed. Again, we sincerely apologize for the inconveniences and we thank you for your time in writing this comment. Best Regards. Hoteles Globales Quality Manager
