Hotel is in a central location, not too far from shops and restaurants, however the staff can be miserable, the TUI Rep was extremely rude I never spoke to her again for the rest of the holiday!!!! Food wasn’t the best, however breakfast was better than the evening meal even though breakfast was the same things everyday, the food did not make anyone in our party unwell, however the pork they were carving was undercooked so I didn’t touch this, the evening meal set up was too posh, bossing you around a bit, the rooms were tiny aswell as the balcony’s, only positive things is that the pool was nice with the jacuzzi and water jets, sun beds were no problem to get! Hotel was clean! You don’t have to wear long trousers for evening meal as it may advertise on tour operators websites. I’m not sure whether I would stay here again!

Stayed at the hotel cala galdana and honestly couldn't fault it. We arrived and was upgraded to a 2 bed villa which was fantastic. The food was very good. My daughter has coeliac disease and has to eat gluten free. The restaurant were superb, asking the chef to go through all the options available. There really is everything you need on sight. Supermarket, medical centre, car hire, activity centre, everything. Also very impressed with jet 2 holidays. From the reps at the airport to Nicola who's based in the hotel. She is excellent, very easy to get along with and very professional. A real gem. Will definitely return to this lovely hotel and beautiful country.

Hotel is clean and in a great location. There was a large selection of food on offer for breakfast and dinner. Our room had a pool view and was clean but slightly small. My only real criticism of this hotel is I felt the drinks were on the pricey side. Reception staff are helpful and friendly but Oscar the outside Terrance waiter wasn’t friendly and I felt like I was hailed to my table and sometimes rushed and that we were in his way !!! Madrid the drinks waiter was lovely. Evening entertainment was hit and miss. They provide pool towels which was great especially on our last day. Not a lot to do in Cala Galandna, I would highly recommend a car, but the beach is lovely, 4 nights was enough I think we would have been bored if we had stayed any longer.

Stayed for 7 nights in early July. The weather was amazing. The Hoyas staff are very helpful and can’t do enough for you. We had half board and that was just about right. Drinks are not too expensive but the exchange rate at the moment isn’t helpful. Happy hour (18:00 - 19:00) is good. This is a family centric hotel. Families with small children are cater for. There are two pools and a first for me is the screens that go around the smaller pool at night. Incredible idea.

Just spent our thirteenth year coming back to this hotel and we love the place and island. Interesting to note the variety of views expressed by other guests staying at this hotel over the years. For us it is about a relaxing fortnight after spending the rest of the year looking after our little darling buds of May (grandkids). This year we noticed a number of improvements as the hotel had been looking a little neglected. Tiling has now replaced the wooden flooring all around the pool areas and there are new sun beds and parasols as well as a number of room upgrades. There is an additional pool area for the villas. The walk areas and gardens are always well maintained and the rooms spotless. The cleaning staff here are the best and are always polite, trustworthy and cheery. The food is always of a good standard and there is plenty of choice. I know this as our grandson, who is autistic is very particular about what he eats and we have never had a problem finding something that he will cast his very critical eye over and eat. You do get the occasional dry bit of food and some moans in the morning from guests who want a traditional English breakfast with 'proper' bacon. Not sure why they don't stay at home or just go to Blackpool if they want this? Many guests and not put off by this and seem to think it is an 'all you can eat' facility and make good use of whats on offer. Guests are mostly from the UK but depending on the time of year the hotel is popular with Spanish, German and Italian guests. We have made some good friendships with people who also keep coming back. The price of drinks are mid range when compared to the other two main hotels in the resort and we tend to make good use of happy hour between 6-7 pm in the lighthouse or hotel bars. The drinks in the local supermarkets are good value especially wine and San Miguel. The sea water is usually crystal clear and good for swimming and snorkeling. Word of caution, don't go in when the yellow flag and medussa (jellyfish) flags are flying - they are surprisingly very accurate and appeared once during our two weeks. First aid station close to middle of beach if you don't listen ! The two pool areas in the hotel are well looked after with regular water quality checks and the lifeguards are very good with safety coming first - they don't tolerate infantile or dangerous behaviour from adults. Main reason we come back to this hotel are the staff, even a couple of 'miserable' staff have their charm. However, Tamara and Margarita on reception are very helpful, Ana and Jose in the food hall are always cheerful and smiling, bar staff Regino and Fabio are so efficient and have so many humorous stories to tell. However, the king of mojitos, has to be Felix in the lighthouse bar. The only downside we have found over the years are a minority of guests who tend to expect or demand everyone converse in the English language and make no attempt to say a few words in Spanish. They also tend to read the Daily Mail, feel they still have an empire and demand a sunbed next to the pool. A small number of smokers just light up without due consideration to other guests then ironically spend the day running down the NHS and doctors who cant cure their smoking related ailments ! These are just petty torments and do not have a profound impact on our stay or enjoyment. Finally. the weather is usually very good whenever we have come and we look forward to next year and recharging our batteries again - Adios amigos
