On arriving to the hotel we were very impressed with the look and location of the hotel however we felt a bit let down by the staff when checking-in. We arrived at the hotel early but unfortunately our room was not ready for another 5 hours and we were told to store our luggage in a holding room which was disgusting. We were not told about hotel facilities and where we could get towels from etc. When we get our room we were very impressed - we had a family room with ocean view and it was beautiful and very clean. The daily maid service was outstanding with floors mopped etc. The pools were very clean very spacious with plenty of activities for children in the afternoon and also adults in the pool. The snack bar was open in between meals with a good range of drinks, salad, and fast food. The food was of a good standard and delicious. Plenty of favourites for everyone. We did find that it was best to stick to the main restaurant. We did spend a couple of nights eating outside the hotel. The Wi-Fi was fine in rooms but poor in open area's. The entertainment was good for small children early on and for everyone in the later hours - we can particularly recommend Flamingo dancing and bingo! The only issue was the long queues for the free bar - if you only wanted soft drinks for children it was a long wait. The hotel felt very spacious and modern with lots of facilities such as the gym and spa. The day before we left we had issues getting our deposit back from our towels having lost our ticket. In particular, Fredrick who checked us in was very rude and lied to us. Overall, an excellent experience we would defiantly recommend - especially for families.

Hotel's Favorite
My trip was September 2019 but trip advisor would not let me select the actual dates of my holiday however I still wanted to leave a review anyway. The holiday was lovely and the hotel was great too. Food was lovely and even the snack bar had some great snacks. I would suggest that the snacks are labelled as on one occasion I ate what I thought was an onion ring as it had been earlier in the week, and on this occasion it was actually calamari. Which could be potentially dangerous to some guests. The buffet dining room had a good selection of food which was all enjoyable. It could have benefitted from a self serve drinks machine as the servers were really busy so it was hard to try get the attention of one of them in order to get a drink. The free WiFi was only available in the lobby and my phone was not working. I purchased the WiFi that could be used all over the hotel and this solved this issue. One negative to my trip was that the cleaner let herself into our room at a awkward moment. We tried to shout to her and thought it was clear that we was in the room but she still opened our bedroom door anyway. She apologised and left immediately. After this, I requested at reception that they did not clean my room for the rest of the week and I avoided eye contact when I saw her in the corridors due to embarrassment but these things happen and I’m sure it was not intentional. The bar man in particular was polite, friendly and helpful. The pool was really relaxing to sit around and I enjoyed using the outdoor jacuzzi tub. Some exercise classes were held in the pool at specified times which I did not join in on but I thought they looked really fun. I would definitely return to this hotel again in the future and our holiday was lovely.

We stayed at the Alua Atlantico resort in Tenerife from 6th to 13th August through Jet2. Had late arrival, advised to have a drink whilst waiting for someone to show us to our room which we did. We didn't have to wait long, however it was a long walk over to the block.....thank god for ramps and lifts! The family room we had was huge......2 big rooms in one, it was lovely. The beds and sofa beds were quite hard though! I didn't mind as it was good for my back! Rooms cleaned daily and I found leaving towels in a pile on bathroom floor mid week got them replaced with fresh ones, same trick worked for linen. The bathroom had an ample supply of lovely smelling shampoo, shower gel and hand wash, however I was disappointed by the lack of a hairdryer, thank goodness my hair is short and straight so I was able to let it dry naturally with no fuss. I had been forewarned by another review about lack of milk in room for coffee/tea, so I took a supply of dried milk which did the job just fine. Aircon in rooms works great. Our room was on the same floor level as our pool, in fact my 7yr old grandson could climb over our terrace barrier and he was in the pool area, lovely views from room as you can see the sea also. Pool area was lovely, the family block pool is not the main pool so no music or animation team, but we found they were not at all needed, only issue was because the pool bar is smaller there is less choice of between meal snacks, there was still enough to satisfy most people though! There are a lot of inconsiderate people in this world and even though there are plenty of bins dotted around the poor cleaning team had a lot of rubbish to deal with......and deal with it they did! I was very pleasantly surprised by the total lack of wasps etc, so good not having to worry about them when you have kids with you. Pool did get closed but only for a few hours due to suspected contamination, however all was ok within those few hours. Contrary to some reviews, we found on a couple of days some inflatable toys were allowed to be used, I just feel they don't want people using the massive inflatables in the pools as they aren't huge and with lots of people in there wouldn't be much room for people to swim around! Food in restaurant was as you would expect with all inclusive, there was more than enough options to keep the greatest amount of people happy, it was all very tasty, the puddings were particularly nice. Drinks in restaurant were self service, which is absolutely fine......several different coffee and tea options, juices at breakfast, lunch and tea, fizzy drinks and alcohol (beer, red wine, white wine, rose wine and sangria) also available at lunch and teatime. All the waiting staff were lovely and friendly, as they were in the bars also. The alcoholic drink options in the bars was very extensive and some drinks were premium brands! Very nice to have cocktails and sparkling white wine on AI drink list too! The entertainment was below par however the animation team is very small and the stage area is equally as small and indoors! Would be far better in the space outside that's right next to it! You do need to be prepared to do a lot of walking back and forth as even with the shortcuts we discovered it is still a vast resort. Little shop on resort very handy too. Access to seafront is open as is a small section of the seafront where we witnessed some people taking a dip in the water, this area I feel will be fabulous when it is complete, particularly as it has some bars/restaurants and shops there already. Free shuttle bus to Los Cristianos and Plays De Las America's is very useful for a little trip out to discover more of the area. Overall we had a brilliant week and I would highly recommend and would love to make a return visit.

Good hotel. Not a four star but with a few changes could be made so. The rooms were furnished nicely and the restaurants were all modern. What does it lack to make it a four star?? The provision of a fresh bottle of water per guest per night in the fridges in the rooms. Working Air Con. Working Lifts, especially since the family block went up to floor seven. Fix the loose tiles in the pools to stop people cutting their feet. Better cocktails at the bar. More entertainment on an evening instead of Bingo. More staff behind the bars. Everything else was pretty spot on. The staff were freindly and helpful and the food was as to be expected from a three star (not four!). Keep the prices as a three star should be and we will definatley be back. At the end of the day the price we paid was in line with a three star and for that reason I will review it as a three star. It provided everything I would have expected from three star accomodation.

We stayed at this hotel from the 19th of July to the 31st. This hotel is huge! We did 10,000-15,000 steps a day just waking to the pool and evening entertainment and back so not for people with limited mobility. We arrived around 7pm at the hotel, my son has autism and ADHD and I did not prepare him to wear the all inclusive band, which ment meltdown (my fault). The staff at reception called him a ‘naughty boy’ not the best start but we went with it. Our room was a 5 min walk to the pool and bar area that’s fine as we are mobile but the lifts often didn’t work. Monday to Thursday the hotel is quiet, no need to reserve sun Beds get drinks in minuets at the evening bar. However Friday to Sunday the Spanish come down from the north of the island and take over you cannot get a sun bed (unless you reserve which is against the hotels policy but they don’t care) I witnessed 1 man reserving 15 sun beds on a Saturday!!! This is when the queues are huge in the evening, they smoke where they want, walk around naked, take 3-4 plates of food from the pool bar leaving not a lot for others and the rubbish is horrendous! Once Monday Comes peace is restored and not busy again. I personally don’t think the food was good same everyday and no chicken nuggets for kids in the restaurant? Ive never had this before (that’s all my autistic son eats at home) they occasionally had some in the day at the pool bar but was inconsistent. Also bring Imodium!!! It saved me other wise I would of never of got out the room. The air con is not air con, you will struggle to get your room below 27 degrees. The cleaners don’t change the sheets on the bed or mop the floors unless you ask there and ask them too! We wiped a white dry towel on the floor and it was black!!!!! Also a lot of the stuff in the games room is consistently broken but still takes your money!! Now good stuff, the pools were Amazing and Aslong as you reserved a sun bed you had a great time. Staff for entertainment and bar were so friendly and lovely, free bus to surrounding areas are great! A few places to eat around the restaurant and the supermarket is a god send. The atmosphere is lovely and I generally enjoyed my holiday, although there were issues i would never allow these things to ruin our time away. I hope this helps. Take the good with the bad I guess. 🤷‍♀️

I have just had a wonderful holiday at Alua. On arrival I think it may benefit guests if they were given a map and explain how the restaurants operate, as we enquired to see if we could use the Mexican but it was only opened on a Friday. The complex is so big you have to walk aimlessly around to see what Is there. The room was spacious and cool. The room was cleaned everyday. My friend thought the bed was slightly too hard but I found it to be just fine. We did have a problem with one of the showers that unfortunately wasn’t resolved. However, we were given a complimentary late check out. The dining room was also continuously being cleaned. The breakfast was good again a great selection. The bacon wasn’t very nice but the eggs were great, they were freshly cooked in front of you. The selection of food for dinner was great, from lovely salads to hearty cooked stews. The soups were particularly tasty and the desserts were divine. I often had more than one. The entertainment during the day was great, the children enjoyed sports and crafts poolside. Whilst some adults took water polo far too seriously! The pool doesn’t open until 10 but people went down early to reserve their sunbed. Whilst their are plenty of sunbed there were not so many umbrellas and in the heat with a 3 year old I found that not okay. The entertainment in the evening was not that great and the queues for the bar were long. So after a long day at the pool. On the whole, it was a great holiday. Only a few minor things but I would definitely recommend this hotel.

On balance, scoring this hotel average is being quite generous, but we did actually enjoy our stay and want our review to be read. I tend to ignore reviews where it looks like someone has had a bad holiday, blamed a hotel and feels like they’re getting revenge in some way by leaving a bad review. We liked the pool, the lower pool is better for younger children. You need to be up early to reserve a parasol, they could do with a few more. The hotel staff on the whole were very friendly and helpful, Dorys was a stand out and we’d like to thank her for her friendly helpful service in the restaurant. Room allocation is ridiculous. Please take note of this before you unpack. We travelled with 4 children, including a 2 year old and a 3 month old, hence we used a double buggy to go everywhere. We were put on the 5th floor, the lifts were unreliable at best, most of them broke down at some point. The only lift we could use to go all the way to the pool, without having any fights of stairs to negotiate, was on the other side of the building. As this was not working on a number of days, we used another lift to go part way, then walked the length of the building and took a second lift. The food is a serious concern, many people had stomach problems, we all had an issue at some point or another. One of us was bound to the room for 3 days ill and now is being treated for a kidney infection, most likely caused by e-coli from food poisoning. Most of the families we befriended encountered similar issues. Eating out options are good around the hotel, we had a good Chinese meal just outside the hotel and would thoroughly recommend the Queen Mary situated on the seafront below the lower pool. The Wild Geese Irish bar also does reasonable food and is a good place for sport and entertainment. Bistro 27 also did us a good breakfast. Entertainment at the hotel, is nothing to write home about, there were games at the upper pool, which I can’t comment on as we didn’t take part in. The evening entertainment didn’t seem all that either and the location was far too hot to be comfortable in. Big tip here go straight out to the supermarket and buy a big bottle of water, the hotel provide next to nothing in terms of water. It’s not a problem as it’s very inexpensive, but don’t wait until it’s too late to make sure you have enough water. No inflatables or balls in the pool, so don’t buy any, including from the shop in the hotel. It’s a little bizarre to sell them in an all inclusive resort but not let you use them at the hotel. The hotel could use a porter, something you’d expect in a hotel claiming 4 stars. The main bar in the evening could use a few more staff. I genuinely think that this hotel has the potential to be a lot better and with decent ownership and investment could actual be considered 4 star. At the moment though, a 4 star rating is as generous as my review score of average!

Positive note we had a lovely family holiday. The room we stayed in 4136 was immaculate, although our sheets were not changed once in ten days. Pools are lovely and Maintained, not heated. The parasols are a death trap - constantly blowing over and breaking - fell on my child and other people numerous times. Splash pool should be heated for small children to enjoy - far too cold and they don’t get used to it as not swimming in it. Day entertainment was fair, my six year old enjoyed a Few of the activities on offer - but they should be better split up age wise instead of a six year old playing ping pong competition against a 15 year old. Both would have enjoyed better if the age category was thought of. No exciting child appropriate entertainment in the evening, very lack lustre, no children reps that I could tell. Children couldn’t use soft balls or inflatables in the pool. Evening entertainment was awful and by no means entertainment of a 4star hotel. The majority of staff bar were absolutely miserable and unhelpful/rude. With the exception of a few - dark haIr day entertainer girl and a short blonder one who took water aerobics they were lovely as were their male colleague. Food was okay / fine Little shop in the hotel but it doesn’t sell bottles of water etc etc lol which would have been convenient- there is a shop nearby but some might not want to go looking. Bar queues were ridiculous not enough staff, and the drinks are all watery and served completely in plastic cups - even in the evening. No drinks menus to choose from / very no frills Hotel is in a convenient spot/ close to water park (go was fab) Knights evening (fab) Close to the airport Free shuttle bus to nearby beach was good. On our last evening we became aware of the volcano bar which is literally down the steps of the back of the hotel and turn left. They do live music between 5-7 - we went and was great! Made our last night. However meant we spent a lot of money for the evening where if the entertainment etc was there in the hotel we wouldn’t need to. Like I said we had a lovely holiday with family and friends but I would not go back to This hotel.

We paid extra for My Favourite Club. If you’re a couple, might be worth the extra as you get access to a quiet lounge with unlimited drinks. Otherwise, don’t waste your money. Reserved area in restaurant had a few tables that were not cleared regularly and reserved pool area was non existent until we complained and then, as if by magic, a reserved area with 6 sun beds in the windiest spot materialised! Couldn’t have been further from the pool or bar if it tried! The rooms are nice with a huge bathroom ( no bath) but definitely not 4 star. This hotel needs to do much better. The food is mediocre and the “a la carte” is a joke. You are asked to order your food when you book and the “a la carte” restaurant is an annexe of the main canteen. No atmosphere whatsoever. Not even the offer or a coffee after the meal. Some staff are helpful, but some ( I won’t name names but you are a disgrace) should never be in customer service. Really rude and condescending. You need to up your game significantly if you want to sell this hotel as 4 star. In my opinion, way off the mark.
