    Very pleasantly surprised
We visited this accommodation for the first time and it’s exceeded our expectations. The rooms, although fairly basic, have everything you need (ok, there’s no kettle but there are saucepans and a coffee maker to heat water for tea etc) even plenty of coat hangers and the apartment is kept scrupulously clean by the fastidious cleaners. The pool area has plenty of comfortable sun beds on a private terrace overlooking the beach and the sea, with about 40 sun umbrellas if you need shade. There is a small supermarket, laundrette and pizza take away restaurant on the upper deck from the pool and whilst the supermarket is small it has all the basics at reasonable prices. For those totally on self catering, there are 2 mini marts within 5 mins walk and a decent large one in San Blas which is a 25 minute walk around the coast path, or a 5 minute cab ride. There are plenty of restaurants within a very short distance - 6 or 7 on the coast path within 5 minutes walk and 5 more on the road to the front of the hotel. If you play golf, there are 2 good courses with a 5 minute taxi ride. Amarilla and Golf del Sur. I preferred the latter but both are a decent test of golf. Only downside is that even with the hotel discount, the green fees in January are 79and 81 euros for 18 holes with Amarilla being the less costly! At a resort where beers are €1.50 a pint and a meal for 2 with drinks, around €25, the green fees seem disproportionate! We visited for3 weeks and actually we still have a week to go, but we’ve really warmed to these apartments.

    Very good stay
We booked through On The Beach at the neighbouring hotel and were moved as an insignificant change to these apartments. I went and had a look to see if anyone had reviewed it post Covid and no one had, so I thought I'd be the first. So at time of writing this is true as I believe it is not normally an All Inclusive Resort but for our stay it is. The apartments themselves are clean, well maintained and spacious, beds (most important thing) are 2 singles pushed together but the mattresses themselves are really good much better than many places we have stayed. Air con is free and easy to use, bathrooms are large and overall decor and maintenance are very good. Key card entry to room and can be locked from the inside. Kids sleep in the lounge and TV is small but does have some English content. Location is to the Amarillo Golf side of the resort, south side of Golf Del Sur and right on the volcanic beach. Pool is large but salt water but clean, some very minor repairs needed as a few tiny tiles have come off but of no danger. Sunbathing area is large with fake plastic grass which does keep your feet cool. Small poolside bar which was included on our all Inc but serves only drinks and ice creams, no snacks. Bar is relatively small but well maintained with some music. The dining area is spacious, food is a little samey but fresh and they will cook things to order if you ask. Pints (in actual pint glasses) and fishbowl cocktails were part of our all inc but the poolside bar uses plastic or paper cups for obvious reasons. Resort cleanliness is bang on, they have a video temp monitor at the dining area and near the front door plus sanitiser and they are very good as cleaning. Do not worry about Covid, the Spanish seem lightyears ahead of us and yes you do need to wear masks outdoors but not at the pool or sun bathing and in the shops, same as at home. Anyone put in a similar position as we were with On The Beach and Ryanair where we were forced to come or lose about 50% of your holiday then honestly just come. I'm glad we decided to and didn't believe the hype around Covid. Not everything is open but it is in the main. Hope I have helped at least one or two people undecided about going. P.S. I am still here at the time of writing this.

    Great holiday
If anyone has any apprehension about going on holiday during this time and are OK to quarantine when you get home, please go. We, a family of four did not know what to do but our tour operator was not canceling our holiday and the flight was on. So if we cancelled we were losing 2/3rds of our money. So off we went. Flight had less than 20 people, so flight atentants were very attentive. Got through passport control very quickly, with hand sanitisers at the airport, scanning QR codes and temp checks, very efficient. 10mins in taxi and arrived at aguamarina. Room was ready and excellent, really spacious with an amazing veiw from our room. Place set up for all inclusive but a little different regarding the food. Breakfast buffet as normal but the chef dishes up your choices and all food screened off. Lunch and dinner done differently. 3 courses if you wish, with a choice of 3 things for each couse. Menu outside restaurant prior to each meal so you know what's on order. Some meals didn't quite suits the kids (11 and 7), but a few bars and restaurants open with plenty of choice on the shore front and very reasonably priced. Also small supermarket on the apartment grounds very well stocked to make lunch in your apartment. The staff were excellent, no queues for food, all table service for lunch and dinner. All food we had was great and enjoyable. No rushing in the morning for sunbeds and plenty space. Overall a great holiday.

We flew from Scotland on 12 Nov, just after lockdown in England was imposed, two days before a negative Covid test certificate was required, and just prior to a travel ban in our area. First things first, the apartment was clean, which is the main thing for us. Also, it was very spacious and the beds were comfortable. Fixtures and furnishings are very tired, and frankly in need of updating. We had a nice big balcony with a lovely sea view, and had morning sun until midday. We had to feel for the pool lifeguards who were there every single day, looking after around 50, for the most part, empty sunbeds. Normally there would be many more, but the rest appeared to be piled up in the empty swimming pool of the mothballed sister hotel next door. There were quite a few sad sights like that around the resort. We stayed for 10 nights on a self-catering basis. Having read a previous review, we took our own travel kettle. We have stayed in self-catering accommodation many times, and a kettle has always been part of the basic kitchen facilities that you would expect to find. A few other things we were surprised to find lacking were, no washing up liquid or sponge, dish towel, cooking oil and, perhaps most surprisingly of all, no spatula to turn or lift food. We were unable to find a spatula in any of the surrounding shops, so had to make do with a spoon for our morning fried egg! Wifi is available, but you have to pay. We would return to the apartments but would take a spatula next time!

I moved here from apartments down the road that were too busy and regimental. I'd stayed here a few years ago & I'm so glad I spent a few days here. Andy on reception was welcoming, friendly and couldn't do enough to help. The apartment had everything I needed. The view is spectacular. The while complex is spotless & covid procedures adhered to. Sunbed & pool area also spotless & lovely and quiet, no loud music etc. A nice quiet holiday. Only downside paying for wifi.

Our second time at this resort in 2 years, resort is in a lively location and the resort itself is great. Room decor is tired and some repairs could be done this is not due to current covid situation as it was the same 2 years ago. We had self catering but however you do not get a kettle in your room so have to use a pan to boil your water, cutlery is all mismatched and all in odd numbers, only glasses you get are whiskey tumblers so wine drinkers go and buy a wine glass....lol Beds are comfy but the sofa beds or sofa is very uncomfortable even just for sitting on so who knows what it would be like to sleep on. Beautiful views of the harbour and the Atlantic ocean, plenty of places to eat even though there are quite a few that were closed due to the current situation. So on to the staff at the resort and the cleaning protocol, on check in you are asked to now scan a QR code for all the information need for the resort, room cleaning is every 2 days although we checked in on Thursday and then our room was cleaned the next day Friday, then it was cleaned again on Tuesdays then again on Friday the day before check out, maybe this needs to be looked at as that isn't every 2 days. Most staff very friendly and helpful but yet again the woman with glasses on reception was very rude again just like 2 years ago, she totally ignored you while you are stood at reception while she is looking at her phone, there is not welcome from her or any goodbye, even when we checked out she didnt acknowledge us and asked our stay was etc, as yet again she was looking at her phone, maybe she owns the hotel because there cant be any other reason to employ her. So after all said we had a fabulous time weather was great as always room a bit tired and outdated, maybe invest in some bigger TVs, cutlery, wine glasses etc. We will no doubt be back

Thought it was about time I wrote a review on these apartments. Luckily got a 2 week holiday in before the lockdown. Really enjoyed the stay. Spacious apartment & balcony but sadly only got the sun late afternoon, too cool to sit out in the morning. Was on the 4th floor with easy access to the lift for the shop/takeaway/pool and restaurants on the seafront. Loved the pool, lovely area and the snackbar was handy. Plenty of sunbeds. Everywhere kept clean. Wouldn't hesitate to return.

This was our 3rd visit in as many years at this time of the year and every thing was as good and as clean as normal. We arrived at lunch time our room was not ready so went for some lunch and a drink across the road Irish Bar. We returned around 2ish and checked in with ease no problems or queues. Our Room was 705 on the top floor with spacious balcony and a lovely view. The room was of good size and very clean and tidy. We stayed on a Bed and Breakfast Basis as we like to go out in the evening for dinner as there are plenty of restaurants in the town within easy reach. Breakfast is good more or less anything you could want we found the staff at breakfast very helpful and friendly and were permanently cleaning with anti bac because of the Coronavirus which had arrived on the island a couple of weeks before we arrived. The hotel has a lovely pool area once again very clean with nice views overlooking the sea. There is a little shop on site that is very handy for what ever you may need during your stay also a takeaway pizza shop and a laundrett. Our week went really quick and would like to thank the staff for a lovely stay and we are looking forward to returning next March. Hope all staff are well..
