My husband and I shared a nice dinner at the restaurant here (not staying in the hotel). The building is stunning with beautiful views of the landscape and particularly lovely at sunset. The staff were very welcoming and attentive. The food was decent, but not really fine dining; in context it is very good as there is not a huge... More

This is a magnificent old castle in a lovely location which we have visited on numerous occasions in the past. Walking through the rooms is like walking through history We always enjoy coming back, but were a little disappointed. Perhaps it's a case of familiarity breeding contempt. When we arrived and parked outside the reception door a receptionist was standing... More

I really loved the Oropesa Parador! Rooms were lovely and clean! Staff were awesome! We had dinner and breakfast both of which were very good. The hotel has so much character. Also a lovely pool! I would really recommend. When we arrived at the train station we phoned the hotel to request a taxi and 5 min later a taxi... More

Stayed at this hotel on my way to Portugal and was really impressed. The rooms are big, not luxurious but clean, tidy and quiet. The views are amazing. It is like going back a few centuries. You can see the hotel from the motorway and it is impressive. Will definitely stay there again.

Just returned from a business trip nearby to the hotel. Arrived late evening and found my way through the cobble streets up to the top of the hill to find this impressive hotel. It's very nice and the staff are friendly and helpful. I went down for dinner and it was a la Carte which was nice but could have... More

We were greeted warmly and shown to our large, well decorated and equipped room. We had a big bathroom and views across the town to the surrounding countryside. Not only was the breakfast very good but we also had a beautiful view across to the snow covered mountains from the dining room. There were lots of rooms where you could... More

The mountaintop Castle which houses this luxury hotel was once the residence of Francisco de Alvarado, a Spanish nobleman who was Viceroy of Peru! Rooms are comfortable with well outfitted baths with tub, shower and bidet. The hotel building has large rooms dedicated to rest, reading and meditation; many quiet and peaceful spaces. with nooks and crannies to explore, Restaurant... More

Disclaimer: I have a broad preference for hotels with personality, furniture that does not match too much, high ceilings and rambling terraces. Having said that, I adored this hotel. It is out in the middle of Fricking Nowhere, but the architecture and interior spaces were lots of fun. I loved driving into the courtyard with about four centimeters to spare,... More

The room was small but well-appointed, with a spacious bathroom, and a nice view of the town. The included breakfast was very good. There were several nice parks and terraces for walks around the castle, and it was an easy walk to restaurants on the main plaza. One drawback was a musty smell in the halls, but fortunately not in... More
