Lovely parador inside a palace. Next to a castle , surroundings are beautiful The rooms very spacious and clean. Just wondering around and reading all about the history is like being inside a museum. Would definitely recommend this hotel
A true medieval castle, on the way between Madrid and Extremadura. It is definitely worth to stop there for a night. The castle has meter-thick walls, the common rooms are so grandiose that we felt like living in a royal palace. At sunset the red and blue sky through the window was the best picture in the room. On the next day, after a wonderful sleep and a visit to the fortress, we had a superb lunch at the restaurant.
We really liked the parador. It is not really easy to get one of those free parking spaces depending upon when you arrive. We were very impressed that the desk clerk helped us since other cars were not guests of the parador. Check in went smoothly and we found our room to be very large and comfortable. The bathroom had a rain shower and double sinks as well as a unique alcove with a window overlooking the town. The bed was the most comfortable of our trip and we slept really well. Breakfast was extensive and even had a few gluten free items. There are many lounges and gathering spaces in the parador. They are beautifully decorated and you feel as if you truly are in a palace. The grounds are lovely and and the views are amazing. There was one issue - the Wifi. It was terribly slow and erratic. The only time it was really acceptable was when only one of us was using it and most people in the hotel were asleep. It may be a load issue, but our expectations were high for this hotel. Thanks to the friendly staff for keeping this beautiful, historic property in such good condition.…
A stunning hotel with a Castle next door! The Parador was rebuilt in 1930 after being a Palace to the castle in the 16th century. The Parador has many plaques of historic interest all around, including a Friar who had his own tiny chapel below ground where he also slept, when not teaching the children of the Palace. Excellent food and a beautiful place to stay. The dining room is lovely, make sure you take in the wonderful wooden painted ceiling. The Castle is well worth a tour! We explored all over, up tiny stone steps to towers, along battlements (no H&S here!) learning it’s history and enjoyed it all.
We are a couple on an 8 night parador tour of La Mancha and Castillo. This was our first night and the building is a real treat both from the outside and within. It was a horrible wet day when we arrived in the early afternoon and we enjoyed relaxing and reading in the impressive lounges, of which there are several. The place was spotless and the service throughout, including dinner and breakfast was excellent. The buffet breakfast has a wide range of choices and you can eat enough for a week in one sitting! We much enjoyed our stay and recommend this parador to everyone! Our only slight negative is that my wife found the bed a little hard for her taste but that is generally the case in paradors.
