The Parador is located in the late medieval palace of the Álvarez de Toledo family, Counts of Oropesa. The palace is part of the town’s castle that consists of the old Arabic part and new Christian part. Fernando Álvarez de Toledo who was born at the palace was made Viceroy of Peru by King Philips II. Coming by car, bus...

Arriving very late evening and despite the hotel being visible from miles away on the hillside, overlooking the town of Oropesa, it was a little to find the entrance to the hote down the narrow streets. However once I arrived, courtesy of directions from some locals guys, the hotel is very impressive with its high walls and arched gateway into...

Very charming village, which the Parador is on the heel The parador is beautiful, big halls with antique furnitures The room we got was in a good size, but was very hot (Nov.). The window was small so even when open still it was hot. Dinner was very good, and service was excellent. Breakfast was OK, (we don't eat meat...

This was the first ever Parador and it is a beautiful place to stay. The accommodation is in a building that was part of the 13th century castle and we were lucky enough to have a room overlooking the castle itself. The building and public areas are very large and there are lots of places to sit and chill. The...

I don't often give 5* reviews to places, but the Oropesa Parador deserves it. A fantastic experience from start to finish. You really feel you are staying in a little bit of Castillian history, but with all the modern home comforts attached. The room was bright and in a turret at the far corner, but still managed a good view...

This parador is in a gorgeous restored castle, with impressive castle ruins just across the parking lot. It has elegant old rooms, and many interesting décor features. Our room was rather small and dark with a small window, but still elegant and comfortable. The room had a mini bar fridge, good internet, a comfortable big bed and nice bathroom. There...

This was our 4th Parador however we were starting our 7 day route from this point. Was a perfect start. The hotel was lovely and everything we expected. Our room was spacious with a lovely view from back and side windows. Staff was gracious and had excellent English. I was planning to speak my limited Spanish but not necessarily required....

This is an excellent Parador. There was friendly helpful service as soon as we went to check in, and this continued throughout the stay. We liked the historical notes around the hotel, it must have been a very happy place to work. We have been to a number of Paradors over the years, but never before where the whole atmosphere...

We went there for the ancient castle connected to the parador. It is in pretty good shape and can be visited up to all the battlements and towers. We climbed one tower and after experiencing stairs that are 12 to 14 inches high, we skipped the 2 others that are also open. The parador was well maintained and the restaurant...
