Dated, rooms not great. Bathroom awful, needed renovating. Bed had springs coming through, only offered a couple of duvets to lie on, on top of mattress. Couldn't open window as one of the sewage pumps was jammed and the smell of raw sewage was horrendous. Guarantee a good nights sleep? Not at this Premier Inn!!!
Great place on the doorstep of the beautiful Yorkshire Dales, comfortable and clean. The staff warm and friendly in hotel and restaurant Andrew our waiter was lovely, all of the staff were great. Room just perfect for us. We would definitely stay here again and recommend to anyone.
Hotel Adequate... Restaurant Absolutely Shocking. Hotel was ok. Service very good. But the Restaurant. I'll cut to the chase. A dreadful experience all round with the nadir on Saturday night. Briefly. Took 45 mins to get order taken. Then 20 mins later duty manager admitted he had not placed our order. (No wonder really, as it was scribbled on the back of an old receipt). Our meal finally turned up 1.5 hours after sitting down. All four meals were inedible. Really inedible. Obviously we did not pay for the food .... but that wasn't the point ... I was starving. Avoid this establishment.... Hotel OK, but eat elsewhere.
Been staying here quiet often since January on business. All the staff are very friendly, helpful and polite. The rooms are emmaculate, clean and tidy. The restaurant (Anchor inn) is a very nice place to eat and drink, and reasonably priced. Can't thank Nicola and the rest of the staff enough for making my stay extremely welcome. Would recommend anyone who's thinking about staying here to book up. Thanks again guys :)
Stayed one night when cycling through the area. New looking hotel - very clean and the usual friendly welcome and professional service from PI. An e mail the night before made sure of a ground floor room and that the staff were happy for me to take my bike in. Me and the bike were both expected at reception and everything was very smooth - even an offer to hold doors open for me. The hotel itself was very quiet overnight which is always an appeal of Premier Inns. Their efforts with signage is excellent 'tiptoe around' etc. One of the highlights was the shower which was fantastic after a long day on the lanes. Great power and nice and hot and I soon felt human again. The hotel is very close to Gargrave - a lovely little village and close to the canal and the beautiful river. It is next door to The Anchor Inn which served very good food. Not only would I stay here again but I would certainly recommend the hotel to anyone looking for a spotless friendly and peaceful spot for a stop.Plenty of parking too. Thank you PI at Gargrave. Excellent.…
We were very pleased with the whole experience, in general. We wanted a close base for what we had planned to explore nearby and the choice of location turned out to be ideal. Except for the fact that we could not lower the temperature in the room, I would have nothing to object to. The TV from the room next door (it was an interconnecting room) was at times too loud, but we got help from the receptionist and the volume was lowered subsequently. Thank you to all the brilliant staff there!
It’s a Premier Inn, does what it says on the tin! Very friendly staff, especially Andrew in the restaurant. Very easy parking which is always a bonus. Rooms clean and comfortable, breakfast decent, restaurant/pub could do with a little upgrade.
Stayed 3 days for a birthday weekend in the dales. We arrived and the room was freezing cold, no toilet tissues or soap in the dispensers. The shower had mildew and gunge in the door frame. Asked reception for toilet paper and was gived a roll so thin even Aldi wouldn't stock it. Asked to get the room heating sorted and it took two requests (two days) to get it give any heat out. Had one meal (that was enough) my steak was cooked but had the texture of an elastic band, the chips were so skinny and burnt, couldnt tell the staff from guests and at one point I thought I was being served by the gardener. The bar/restraunt has no soul of feeing of a pub and has all the appeal of an unfinished badly designed project. However the location is perfect, just fix all the many faults and it could be brilliant. This hotel is in a brilliant location but so badly managed.…
We stayed for 2 nights on the meal deal tariff. Check-in was great. The friendly receptionist welcomed us on arrival and then she handed us the meal deal tickets with the room key, so very organised. The double room was very comfortable with a good room temperature. The rooms had TV, WIFI, tea/coffee making facilities, lovely shower and bathroom, clean towels, toiletries. We ate in the restaurant attached to the hotel both evenings and also for breakfast and were made to feel welcome. All in all, a lovely hotel to stay during our visit to Skipton which was about 4 miles away. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend it too.
Incredibly cold room - sleepless first night. Advertised ‘free wifi’ but reality is that to get connected you have to pay for ultimate wifi! Free view advertised, but not connected. The food was dire! Stayed five days and room not cleaned or serviced once. Couldn’t eat one meal and breakfasts were left on hot plates so long the eggs were like rubber. Cheap quality of food used - would expect locally sourced food. Have stayed in many Premier Inns and this one is definitely not up to std of the companies advertised promises. PI should carry out a serious review of the quality of food and service as well as checking the hotel can provide what is advertised.
