Clean and tidy basic accommodation, an ideal base for touring the area. Receptionist was friendly and helpful. Finding a parking space close by can be a bit 'hit and miss' so we opted for a 5min walk to either the public carpark or easy on street parking. The hostal has no facilities but there are plenty of cafes, bars and restaurants within a few minutes walk offering everything from coffee to tapas or menu of the day. (La Dalia gastro pub is definitely worth a visit!) The town of Tabernas is ideally situated not only for the nearby 'Western' attractions but also for Almeria, the several nature parks in the region and the many, as yet, unspoilt beaches and coves. If you don't fancy driving into Almeria, then there is a local bus service which takes about 40mins to the main bus depot. Only downside was a slight, but noticeable smell of drainage from the bathroom, however we later discovered that the problem appeared to be with the public sewer rather than the hostal itself! Overall the hostal represents excellent value for money and is thoroughly recommended.…
Visiting the region we stayed only one night in this hotel. The room and bathroom were immaculately clean, the bed comfortable and the lady at the reception was very friendly and helpful. The hotel doesn’t serve breakfast but at walking distance there are enough little places where you can eat and have breakfast. Prices make you smile and also the price of this hostal is very good value for money. We can absolutely recommend this hostal.
We stayed here for a weekend event in November 2018 at Oasys Mini Hollywood and then again in early December on our way from Alicante to Portugal. On both occasions we have been very impressed with the rooms we have had and the friendly welcome we received from the ladies who have met us on arrival. The rooms we had were on the front of the building, overlooking the church and were warm and comfortable. The second floor room we had on our first visit was a little smaller but absolutely fine for us. The only small issue we had was with the time it took on a couple of occasions for the hot water to come through to the shower- I guess because of the extra floor. This certainly was not an issue on the second visit when we were on the first floor. We paid 40 Euros per night for a double room, which we consider to be brilliant value. One thing to bear in mind if you are using Hostal Avenida...parking outside the hostal is almost impossible unless you are very lucky and spaces close by were also hard to come by on our first visit, so we had to park around 300 metres down the road. Parking seemed even worse going up the hill if you approach Hostal Avenida from the direction of Oasys Mini Hollywood. But on the second visit we were lucky enough to get a space outside the bank about 50 metres from the hostal.…
The woman who owns the hotel ( I assume) is at the front desk, or is hiding through the open door the shop next to the hotel. She speaks some english and is very smiling and helpful. My room was fine. wifi and airconditioning working but no fridge in the room. The was a unpleasant sewer smell in the bathroom and the toilet kept flushing, although we got it sorted so it could be used. Noise is the biggest problem. The main street runs just outside the door, so the is continuously traffic. The square in front of the church is also just outside and what sounded like teenagers were shouting and screaming until 02.30. The windows might be new but they are not tight and I had to wear earplugs.
Stayed for one night on our way to Granada. Comfortable room, which was spotlessly clean with a large bathroom, looking over the small plaza and church opposite. The owner is a very friendly and helpful lady. We parked the car on the street, which was fine. No food but places to eat and drink nearby.
We spent a night here during a cycle Tour of Andalucia. The entrance is tucked away in a side street, and reception is compact and annexed to a clothing shop. This initial impression of a simple but welcoming establishment belies comfortable, spacious and well equipped rooms. No meals are provided, but there are several options within walking distance. Rooms were good value, and we had a positive experience here.
Very nice small hotel, spotless and nice décor, excellent wifi, situated in the village center , no food available but some small bars right next door with basic but good food at prices there used to be 20 years ago !
there was 3 of us staying there and we were very impressed with the room, they put in 3 single beds for us .. the owners have some english and are so helpful. there is a market opposite the hostal and i recommend the stall that sells the fresh olives stuffed with anchovies .. market also has local fruit and veg as well as clothes stalls ..the scenery around the town is stunning as the sun goes down .. in the Hostal you can also buy tickets for the Mini Hollywood which is a fun day out
Every time we visit we don't want to leave. Lovely new rooms and bathrooms. Very close to local bars with tapas. Friendly helpful people who are very tolerant of non Spanish speakers like ourselves. Car parking can be problematic but a little patience and you will find somewhere.40 minutes or so from the best beaches in Spain and maybe the world except Scotland.
What a delightful little hotel. Very clean and refurbished to a high standard. Air conditioning was great, flat screen TV and nice bathroom. Very helpful hostess, was happy to hang my washing up to dry that I had washed in the shower. (On a bike tour). I can't believe how cheap it was. I've paid a lot more for poor hotels.
