Staff didn’t care about us. Nice pub next door but no links for breakfast or dinner! Unfriendly place to stay. Room lacked enough soap and toilet paper. Was a rabbit warren. WiFi cost money and was very poor not worth the money

Travelling alone I usually stay at whatever Travelodge is near to where I need to be. Room etc were usual Travelodge standards but noise was a real issue from other rooms. Not a big issue as I was only staying one night but a pain when trying to sleep. On the upside the pub next door did a good pint of Guinness.

Thank you for reviewing our Borehamwood Studio Way Travelodge. We are sorry to hear that you were disrupted by noise levels during your stay. We do have staff patrolling the corridors every 2 – 3 hours, and if other customers are making noise that may cause disruption to our guest’s, we have procedures in place to intervene with this. However we apologise if we were unsuccessful in ensuring you a peaceful stay on this occasion. Feedback is invaluable and our Hotel Managers regularly review their TripAdvisor reviews in order to fix any issues raised and pass on feedback to their team. We arrived at about 1:30am, and the room we were in was only set up for one person however, Tiffany the night receptionist was more than helpful with getting extra towels and helping us with all our needs.

This review is not for the accommodation exactly........ please read on. I booked the room at this Travelodge on the 5th May 2019 to stay for one night on the 6th July 2019. I was working until 2pm that day so travelled up from Devon after work. At 17:25 whilst driving on the M25 and only 20 mins from the hotel, I received a call asking if I was still planning on staying that night. I replied that I was on the M25 and would be there shortly. I was then informed that my room had been sold to someone else and if I wanted I could stay at another Travelodge.. Ok, not a major drama, as I had been offered an alternative, but on reflection, I had the choice because I booked two months in advance and chose Studio Way over the next closet because of what it offered suited me better. The Person who called me could not give me any useful information on how to get to the other hotel and just kept giving me the postcode..really handy when driving on The M25. I shall be extremely wary about booking with TL in future as what is the point in booking in advance, paying in advance and then to be told 3 and a half hours from home and 20 mins from your destination that your room has been sold to someone else! 😡

The hotel itself is not bad. Rooms are the usual standard. It did seem a bit of a ghost ship, apart from the receptionist on duty on arrival I did not see any other staff and just left key on the desk on departure. The biggest problem is the Toby Carvery next door which is below par but seemingly having to cut costs.(from an overheard conversation) Any other dining options require driving further afield if, like us, you have a party member with mobility problems.
