We were in Iceland for 10 days and stayed in a different guesthouse each night. This one was the worst. The reception is in the restaurant but the rooms are in converted personal homes. The front desk personnel gave us a key and a paper with Gilbakki 14 written on it and told us we had to drive to the... More

Hellnar is less of a town and more of a collection of cottages. You stay here because it is ideally situated to all the attractions along the shore. The walking path along the shore is just a little ways down the hill. The rooms are clean and sparse. The bathrooms are clean and functional. The restaurant is the real draw.... More

I stayed here with 2 friends in early July. It has a beautiful location just a couple hundred meters from the water, and right off the main road through the Snæfellsnes peninsula. There isn't much in Arnarstapi -- just this inn and another small restaurant, really. But it is a nice location to relax and walk along the ocean. You... More

My friend and I stayed stayed one night at Guesthouse Snjofell and had a great experience. We asked for a late arrival due to the ferry schedule, and our hosts were accomodating. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. We woke to a wholesome and filling buffet breakfast. We took a morning walk to the beautiful cliffs nearby... More

We stayed for just one night, but I'd have liked to stay longer. The guesthouse faces the sea: to sit on the verandah outside the restaurant in the afternoon sun, taking in the view and sipping a beer (or whatever is your current poison - the bar is well stocked) is blissful. There are great walks along coastal paths, and... More

I traveled with my daughter in June. We had the room with the best view but the accommodations did not match the price we paid to stay there, something expressed by other guests as well. The walls were thin and offered limited privacy. There were four rooms both upstairs and and downstairs and only one bathroom and one shower. With... More

the rooms looked like a hospital and theres no wifi unless youre in the reception/restaurant, to get you to spend more money. The cleaning crew was obnoxiously loud in the morning and the room walls are super thin, you can hear suitcases unzipping and conversation

Dropped in for a quick lunch as part of a tour group. Didn't have any food (which looked quite good to be fair), but just had an expensive coffee. Weren't even allowed a refill - unless we had bought the cheaper one. Service a bit gruff, too.

The room was fine, food was good, but the main thing I remember was that it was really out of the way. We were doing a ring road trip and getting to this place off the road was not the easiest. Better signs would be a great start. If that isn't a problem for you, the views and walk along... More

The guest house is all right if you just need a roof and a bed. Food at the restaurant was a disappointment and the prizes are sky high on beverages. The area however is magnificent and the coastline is something you should not miss. Cliffs are overcrowded with birds in spring and summer. Beautiful cliff formations. From the guest house... More
