Good, spacious room. Clean and warm. Very nice food, and friendly, helpful owner and staff. Good ski room. WiFi intermittent, but Fulvia was always quick to sort out any issues. Hotel is up a little hill, which means it’s very peaceful, with great views. If you don’t want to carry your skis up the hill each night, just rent a locker below the bar next to the ski school. Overall a very nice ski trip.

Facilities basic (but fair value for money), the hotel was very clean and our stay was made special by Fulvia and the lovely staff. Single menu for guests (chalet style) but food was well cooked and presented. Location was quiet and not far from access to the slopes, which was useful as Claviere has no free ski bus included with lift pass. We enjoyed our stay at the Miramonti.

Firstly it’s 2 star so it’s going to be basic! However it’s very dated and does need attention. The last decorator to paint the rooms couldn’t cut in to save his life. No kettle in the room-would this make it a 3 star if it had one? One light above the bed didn’t work. Do these things not get checked? It was clean. Room was cleaned every day. Beds were fine. The bathroom had no heating. The shower spat on you and looked like something from the 1960s. The bathroom though clean, had mouldy grout on the badly tiled walls. The breakfast was too basic. Only cereal was cornflakes. Poor quality meat. But the worst things of all-INSTANT COFFEE served in big pots. What?? Come on, I know Italian coffee is mediocre at best and it’s a 2 star hotel but this is so easy to get right. That said, they will make you an espresso etc from the proper machine if you ask. The evening meals started off ok but got worse throughout the week. You had no choice about what you ate though none of it was too offensive. We accepted it was 2 star so not complaining about it really. Just because this is Italy doesn’t mean you get amazing food! The main lady who does the check-in and served dinner was friendly and polite. Her main waitress was very nice too. But the other staff/family members were pretty strange. An unhappy looking woman always watching over the dining room. As for Claviere itself, good location, nice and quiet if you don’t like hoards of drunk guys and girls. The Milky Way is excellent skiing and wouldn’t hesitate to ski here again. I would maybe stay in Claviere again if I could find much nicer accommodation.

Dear Nick, Thank you for your detailed rewiew, First Miramonti is a three stars Hotel and we we respect all the requirements. About the kettle, the light, the heat of the bathroom are all things that should be said to us during your stay in order to resolve them and make better your stay. All bathrooms have radiators and if a radiator has been turned off or it's broken we repair it istantly. We put pots of coffee because lot of guests like to have coffee as much as they want without have the embarrassment to ask always to the waiter; for the others, they can always ask an espresso but also Caffe americano, cappuccio, the and all the others tipical cafee drinks, we are glad you appreciate the clean of our rooms, our friendly staff and the beauty of our ski resort. We will use your feedback in order to improve your breakfast experience and to do more stricted check of the rooms. Hoping to see you again we wish you a pleasant summer. Regards, Miramonti Staff

Very much a family run hotel. Fulvia, the owner, was always helpful, friendly and eager to please. Our room was basic but clean and warm. As others have mentioned, there was not a huge variety in the food but I enjoyed it and there was plenty of it. I will also echo what others have said that the road to the hotel is steep and can be tricky when its icy. We booked through Crystal and the rep was not too helpful about the quickest way to get skiing. We found you could go down the hill, cross the road, down the hill again then you joined a run to the lifts. About 5 mins down and 10 mins up on the way back or quicker if you come down the black. Skiing was great with some good mountain bars and big wide runs through the trees. The red/black link to Montgenevre and its associated lift have been shut for years which makes the run back a bit tedious. If you are a good skier I would recommend the all areas pass that gives you access to all areas rather than the normal pass which only gives 1 day in Sestriere and Sauze d'Oulx. The town is quiet however I would highly recommend bar Turino for a pre dinner drink if you like a bit of local culture and no load music.

We had a fantastic week skiing in Claviere and Montegenevre and Fulvia and her team at the Miramonti were so friendly and helpful. When we arrived Fulvia immediately let us know that all the other guests in the hotel were on school ski trips and she arranged a separate evening meal time for us from the students. We had no problems as the school students were all so well behaved, quiet and polite. Our room was very spacious, in fact it was really two rooms with a separate bedroom for our children. The room and bathroom were dated, but absolutely spotless. It was warm, quiet, cleaned every day and the towels changed regularly. Fantastic view from the balcony. Breakfast was a basic buffet, but more than ample. The evening meal was 4 courses: antipasti, choice of soup or pasta, main course and choice of desserts. Good choice of wines at about 10 euros, very reasonable. Fulvia was very helpful, with tips on where to ski and when, she kindly checked the times of buses and costs of taxis. We had fun with her and her daughters in the evening as they taught us to play games and card tricks. Thank you. If you want a 5 star hotel with 5 star facilities the Miramonti is not for you. If you want a friendly, great value for money hotel then the Miramonti absolutely fits the bill, hence the 5 stars. The resort of Claviere was very quiet, but it was the end of the season. Despite being the last week of the season we had plenty of snow and great skiing on quiet slopes. It is a 5 minute walk to the ski lift, but we hired a locker next to the lift and as this saved carrying the skis up hill at the end of the day, it was worth every penny.
