Grande Albergo Claviere

Certificate of Excellence
Grande Albergo Claviere is a three-star, family-run hotel along with a team of friendly and helpful staff whose top priority is to make sure that your ski holiday is packed with great memories. Constructed in 1921, it is now a historic building with several murals on the walls of the bar and lounge area depicted by the famous Italian artist Fellan. Some of the first guests were Prince Umberto and Princess Maria Jose - Crowned Prince and Princess of Italy as shown on the potrait located at the hotel's entrance. The hotel has a very strategic location: adjacent to the French border, it is only a short walk from the nearest ski lift and the village center. It has 38 clean and comfortable rooms, a spacious ski room, a big dining room, all-inclusive bar from 4:30-10:30 pm and a very organised childcare service.

Was a little hesitant about arriving at the Grande after reading some of the reviews but was really pleasantly surprised on arrival.

Yes the public area is a bit small and yes it is a little outdated in places but it is spotlessly clean, very welcoming and has the friendliest st

Got back from a brilliant holiday hear. Staff were really good and very helpful. Meal choice wasn't the best but top notch for the money you pay. Drinks were very good and beer very nice. Only problem is I can't buy it back home lol. The child care was so good for our little boy

Hotel is fantastic location, practically ski in and ski out, fairly flat but very easy. Or very short walk from the chair lifts/ski school. We had family room, which was very spacious and warm, but not too hot. If you don’t like it that way just open the window! We had lovely vie

We stayed at the Grande Albergo for a week from 25 Feb. As with others, we had read the reviews so our expectations were not that high and it is one of the cheaper properties in Crystal's brochure, therefore the all inclusive price is pretty reasonable. Everything is pretty much

Like others in previous reviews have said, I admit I was a little unsure of whether this was a good pick, due to negatives reviews on TA. However, we found this to be a great place for a week in the snow. Wonderful staff who couldn't have been more helpful or friendly. The room wa

Dear Madam, Thanks for having the time to review your experience in Claviere and your stay in our hotel. We are glad that whilst reading mixed feedbacks, you're family appreciated the hotel's good location, the wonderful staff members and management and our large, clean rooms. We are happy to read you enjoyed our busy but sociable bar and the packed lunches we offered. We are glad that you pointed out matters regarding kid's menu. We are gathering feedbacks through our reception staff and through questionnaires to see where we can improve and grow. Grazie for considering the idea of coming back next year. We look forward to seing you again! Kind Regards from Claviere.

I see that reviewers don't recommend the ski hire shop that Crystal uses. What shop do you recommend, as I want to book hire online in advance? Looking for advanced, new season skis, snowboard and boots.
Hello, we didn’t have any problems with the ski shop. Very very helpful people. And the equipment was good as well. Hope this helps.

We have the chance of a last minute ski trip - middle aged couple, no kids! Is this hotel likely to be suitable for us or is it too full on with kids clubs/activities etc. We’re definitely not anti-children - been there, done that - just looking for honest opinions. We’re not party animals, evenings consist of food, couple of drinks, bed. Many thanks for any info.
Hi, similar to us - not anti kids and not party animals. The hotel was lovely and made up for any slight inconveniences with kids. it was busy with kids when we were there due to it being school holidays. The location, the staff, the food and the skiing outweighed the kids. It really depends on the parents!!!!

Thinking of going to this hotel next March with our five year old, booking through Crystal. She goes to bed at 7 usually, and after a day's skiing and activities there's no way she'll be able to stay awake for an evening kids club. If she has the early kids' dinner and goes to bed afterwards, will each of us parents have to take turns every night staying with her in the room and having the adults' dinner separately later on, or is there an in-room babysitting service or listening service that will allow both of us to have a grown-up dinner together?
We kept our daughter watching the iPad while we had dinner at 7 not ideal but what can you do, I saw another couple with a live video/baby monitor thing that they had with them at dinner, some parents had dinner with there kids at 5pm

Hi,is there free wifi in all areas?
They have free WiFi yes. Temperamental though. First few days I couldn’t get on it with the password. They have a non password protected one which I needed up using. Problem with iPhones apparently.
