This hotel grew on us the longer we were there. We like very quiet rooms so were shocked that there is a quite busy road in front, however if you get a room quite far back, we were in a room number starting with a 5, the higher the starting number the further back you are from the road, and it was quiet (heard nothing with the patio door closed). You can hear the road when you are around the hotel pool, but it is not too bad. The panoramic view from the pool, restaurant and outdoor area is spectacular and really gives atmosphere to the hotel. The decor inside and furnishings are fabulous too. We were on a B&B basis but ate in the hotel a few times for dinner and the food was superb. Breakfast was waiter service, after a previous comment on Tripadvisor we did not order it all in one go. We also went to the Cutter Lounge restaurant which is casual and is the ‘in place’ for drinks, dinner there was fine too. The Colti Farmhouse restaurant serving a local set menu is also worth a visit - the hotel runs a shuttle service to both these restaurants. There are local restaurants not too far away in Cannigione. The sea is a short walk away and the hotel has a decking area with sun loungers and umbrellas which is very peaceful with the sea lapping underneath, there is a guard there too - there is a charge for using the deck. There are rocks in the sea so swim shoes are advisable, there is some sand if you pick your spot to go in. As the hotel is on a hill you need to be walking up & down a lot. The gym is good. Sadly, due to COVID, spa treatments were only available in the room (we did not have any). The staff are very friendly and helpful. We hired a motor boat at the Pontile Cormorano nearby for a trip around the islands which is well worth doing. All in all we had a fantastic time here. …
We had a double room overlooking the water across to the mountains on the far side which we watched the sun rise over in the morning. The hotel staff, at reception, in the restaurant and by the pool, were warn, friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. We tended to walk into Cannigione - 10 minutes along the quiet waterfront road. And we did a fantastic day trip, organised by the hotel, with Francesco and Anna on their boat which is also their home. I recommend Francesco and Anna as hosts.
This is our fifth stay in the hotel. Every time we really enjoyed staying here. This year, with all the difficulties, I have to say that they still continue to deliver to their high premises. Location is great anyhow, team is very much customer oriented and the restaurant is serving great food with a very good service, too. Everybody’s very much trying to make it a wonderful and special holiday. And I have to say: that works very well! Thanks for making it a wonderful holiday for us, again. Tomorrow we will go for sailing. Looking forward to that, too. Best and see you again next year, Oscar
We stayed in the luxury suite and it was INCREDIBLE. My husband and I were on our honeymoon which we fortunately got to take after getting married in July 2020. The standards of this hotel are certainly that of a 5 star hotel and more, the staff were amazing - friendly, professional and efficient. Francesca and Teresa in particular made our stay extremely special, nothing was ever too much. The luxury suite Had a bottle of champagne on ice awaiting our arrival and we had plenty of room indoors and outdoors. It comes with a private salt pool with an incredible view and breakfast every morning in the room. The cleaner comes twice a day so the room is consistently impeccable. The food on the restaurant is ok, there were plenty of other great places to eat in the local town of CaliGonone just 10 mins walk from the hotel or a 5 min drive. We went out the hotels private sailing boat for the day. The hosts were absolutely lovely. We were a little disappointed in the lack of “luxury” of this yacht (very expensive yacht). You are given multicoloured plastic plates and cups and cutlery a bit like children’s dinner and there isn’t a portable speaker for music or pillow to lay out on the front of the boat. For the money spent these small inexpensive details would have made it worth the money. We also took part in the cooking classes in the hotel farmhouse which was outstanding! Prisca was a great teacher, funny and professional. We had a wonderful time. It was worth every single penny. Overall a wonderful hotel and we hope to return for one of our anniversaries.…
We stayed in room 807 the last one up the hill. Yes there is a bit of a walk but you can ask the staff to bring you up. We had our own pool but was quite small for a luxury suite. We had a boat trip and Laura was very nice. I was expecting more from La Maddalena Island and the pink beach but the trip itself was pleasant. Hotel is clean and comfortable. Very good cocktails at the Lounge bar. But... the staff don't seem to talk to each other as they keep coming and ask for your order even if someone else took it already. Breakfast is disappointing. They bring the omlete before your coffee or water..and then the fruits? Very little choice for dinner also. We liked the Cuttler more as they had a bit of variety. Their driver Michelle is all over the place always busy. I would hug him as he was very nice all the time.🙂 La Colti has good suckling pig and cheese..but the rest of the food was quite bland.. Other I was expecting a bit more, a touch, a flower on the pillow..something. The views are amazing, you don't see the sunset as the way the hotel is positioned and you need to stand up in order to see the sea as the bushes and flowers are tall. We enjoyed our stay overall but was expecting more for the price..…
