New Years Eve stay in Paradise
We were travelling as a family in St Lucia for Christmas and New Year. Our base was Rodney Bay, we chose Marigot Beach because of its unique location. Chelsea booked us in and arranged our transfer all had to be covid certified for us to stay with the restrictions. As the little ferry took us across the water to our destination we felt special. We booked entry level accommodation which adequate for our needs had a lovely little terrace with a pretty view. We booked in for New Years Eve dinner and the hotel went to great lengths making it a memorable night with little prizes given out. Breakfast was lovely served cooked to order with plenty of choice. There is so much that is so unique about this place, it has a little track to lift guests up the steep hill in comfort. A nature track to the peak gives a superb view of the entire bay. We had fun swinging from the palm tree into the sea. On the beach are locals selling food, cold drinks and souvenirs. We had a little lunch bar b que which they cooked for us. Roosters running about which I heard from 5am. If I am next in St Lucia I imagine if money is spent on this hotel I will be priced out from staying as it will be a place only the super rich can afford to stay. The owner welcomes all to his unique hotel it was magical.

    beautiful setting but dated hotel
Spent a lovely relaxing 10 days here. No hesitation in recommending St Lucia. This is not really a party resort at all (although they have happy hour and live bands in the evenings) but that suited us just fine. Rooms and hotel facilities were all clean and comfortable but in need of updating. Food was generally very tasty and good but dinner / drinks were quite expensive. Most reception bar/restaurant and ground staff are super friendly, welcoming and take an unobtrusive interest in making sure you have a good time. In particular Imani, Ann and one other receptionist were delightful. Andrez, one of the groundsmen was also a very lovely guy. A couple of the other bar / restaurant staff were consistently a little miserable though! My wife and I spent an excellent day on a boat tour to Soufriere and adjacent beaches with Gilian. He was a gentleman and his boat is across the harbour (called Monica bless), just along from the food stall where locals eat. We had a couple of nice meals there too which were much cheaper than an of the restaurants. Finally would like to thank Duan Fred who drove us around and to sulphur springs / waterfall, botanical gardens and to the airport. He is a knowledgeable and safe driver who should clearly be a standup comedian part time :) Seems like everyone knows him but we booked him through the hotel reception.
Thank you for the kind words. We’re so happy your visit to St Lucia will be a memorable one and that you made the most out of your vacation. How lovely it would be to have a visit from you again.

    Not what we expected
Very disappointed in our accommodation on arrival .Took our concerns to Ann who responded very positively and was extremely helpful . We were moved into new accommodation that was above and beyond our expectation and certainly met the hotel 4 star rating it has. Hotel needs some tender loving care as it appears to be stuck in a bygone era . Loved breakfast , although having paid for this in advance we were disappointed to be told we were only able to have the buffet menu as opposed to freshly made omelettes etc as this would have been an extra cost . Loved the quirky ferry and the views from Marigot bay cannot be faulted . This is prime location crying out for Investment To bring it in line with the 4 star rating it is advertised as . Pool is small and again very tired we didn’t use at all. Whilst there is a Beach , it is very small , if you are looking for a beach resort this would disappoint. Due to the above we spent most of the time at another hotel and used their facilities
We are sorry that you were disappointed with the hotel but thank you for sharing your experience as we do take the reviews into consideration.

Do not stay here. Our stay was absolutely awful. Our room was broken into, and our engagement ring was stolen. We are pretty sure the staff did it since there was literally no one else staying at this resort. Our room also had no forced entry and was locked when we returned to it, so the thief clearly had a key to get into the room. When we reported the incident no one was able to help us and the “security guard" would not even communicate or look at us when we reported the incident to them. We were supposed to stay two nights but only stayed one because of the indecent. The managers were no help when we spoke to them the next morning, said there was nothing they could do about the situation and weren’t apologetic at all but were confused why we were leaving. We had been engaged for all of 72 hours before our ring was stolen. Absolutely awful and terrifying experience. If you are going to St Lucia do not stay here, stay at Ti Kaye resort.

Hello Mobile600543, I will take the time again to say how sorry we are that you lost your engagement ring, I will also take the time to say that we asked you about your alleged breaking and entry and the loss of your ring. We asked you whether your room was broken into by force entry?, you said no, was the door open?, you said no, did you see anyone enter your room? You said no. Where was the ring ? you said in your back pack small pocket. I was surprised by the answer, because first of all there was no evidence of a burglary and second, an engagement ring after 72 hrs was placed in your back pack? It is evident that we could do nothing for you because there was nothing to work with. You said you had a ring in your bag and could not find it and this led you to belive that our staff had a key and went to your bag to steal your ring and took nothing else. We are sorry you lost your ring, and sorry you had to leave prematurely. Kind Regards

We just stayed at Marigot Beach Club for a few days in April '23 for the first time and we loved it! If you want to feel the typical Caribbean feeling, this is the place for you. 🌴💕. Chilled atmosphere, simply good vibes in the beach club, 4 stars with a very good price-performance ratio. It's a great beach club with lots of charm, beautiful views from the rooms, having a good breakfast and dinner, sitting right by the sea and enjoying the stunning sunsets with a delicious cocktail in the Sunset Lounge. The beach is idyllic and wonderful and we enjoyed the very beautiful tropical gardens. Our room was lovingly decorated and we loved the amazing view of the bay from our terrace. Simply fantastic! Thank you to the lovely, very friendly and dedicated staff... you do a great job and we felt very comfortable in this almost family atmosphere. Another thank you to the lady from the spa, who gave us a full body massage, it was so good! And a big thank you to the extremely friendly and professional staff at reception, who catered to our every need and worked professionally at all times🙏💝. We will be back as soon as possible 🇱🇨☀️. P.S . Be sure to take a trip with Aquarius Watersports at Marigot Bay, located right on the beach. We loved our kayak tour with them to the Roseau River🛶🏝💝.

Pros: Marigot Bay is gorgeous. Our studio (22A) had a huge porch with a fantastic unobstructed view of the bay. Nice kitchen and bathroom. Snorkeling to right of hotel was fair, but beautiful spot and no crowds at all. Hands on the Bay massage on the other beach was fantastic. Awesome spot to watch sunset. Cons: rooms had either no safe or, as with ours, a broken safe. We wanted to go to a market to buy food supplies, but taxi was $50 to go 3 miles. No ATM or stores on the bay. Doolittle’s, the restaurant on site has some good offerings especially the barbecue night. Not a lot of smiling staff, but not a big deal. Pool very tiny, bay swimming excellent.

The hotel was clean, the staff were nice. But the hotel was too far from the main attractions and it was 76 minutes away from UVF airport. The hotel had a lift to the upper rooms. Even though my room was in a lower section, it was still too many STAIRS.

This was an expensive disappointment! It is advertised as exclusive, all inclusive day pass for 130 USD/person. It is a dated facility with uninterested staff and a very tiny beach, broken sun beds, dirty pool, old towels. The drinks very nice, the food ok but was anything worth the money? NO! Don’t go there, spend your money elsewhere!

Had high hopes for a nice island vacation with my husband. This facility wasn’t expected to be a luxury resort - but even for the money, it was awful. Dirty, dated, terrible service (‘please save our environment - ask for room service if you need it only’ - while the island and resort were filthy.) Service at Doolittles - the resort restaurant and bar - was terrible. Ignored consistently and made to feel we were imposing when ordering overpriced and marginal food. Always bothered at the ‘private’ beach by pushy panhandlers selling rum and weed. We missed a $300 excursion to rain forest because the water taxi to the pick up point didn’t show up to take us there in time. We are so disappointed that we are cutting our losses and leaving 4 days early. Save your money - in our opinion, Saint Lucia, DooLittles or Marigot Bay Resort are anything but paradise. Go elsewhere.

We thank you for your review, we understand how easy it is for you to go to a public forum and post your feelings. We truly understand how damaging it can be when people are not honest, or let me kind to say, withholding the truth. We are truly sorry that you did not enjoy your stay, we are sorry as well that you flipped your lid last night when you were not served at the restaurant before a table of six who had ordered long before you. You asked the waitress to not serve the table before you and she apologized to you saying that she cannot do this because their order was in way before you sat. You lost it and threatened to check out early. We always do everything to please our guests, we are sorry we just couldn't do it for you.

I came to Saint Lucia to experience the fantastic scuba diving. Vanessa at the dive center treated me like family and set me up for a wonderful week of stunning diving. The wonderful staff of the beach club and especially at Doolittle Restaurant are the kindest most wonderful people you could have the luck to spend your vacation with. Fiona made sure that I was quickly signed in to a quite clean comfortable room. Soeria, Yolanda, Fiona and all the wonderful staff made my stay a one of a kind experience. Diving with Captain Andre and masters Dylan and Junior was great. I cannot stress enough the sense of warmth and kindness that the wonderful people of Saint Lucia brought to my one of a kind experience. Everyone and everything about Marigot Beach Club and Dive Resort is a 10 out of 10. Thank you to everyone! I hope to see you all very soon!

One doesn’t have a lot of choice when booking a last-minute holiday at the end of November for early January, especially when twin beds rather than a double are required. However, I would class our stay in a Firefly Studio at Marigot Beach Club & Dive Resort as “fair +”. Marigot is about 1 hr 20 mins drive from the International airport. Access to the Resort is via a ferry which is free for residents, but one must be sure to tell Reception if due to arrive or leave at night-time and allow “island time” for it to appear during the day. The room itself appeared recently decorated and the beds were comfortable, although the kitchen was rather sparsely equipped: there was only a bare minimum of cutlery, crockery and cooking utensils (after asking, unsuccessfully, for dessert bowls, we had to eat our breakfast cereal from large serving bowls!) The small shower room was more basic (one day the loo wouldn’t flush) but there was always hot water. Similarly, the free wi-fi was reliable. As we were well up the hillside (bear this and the steps in mind), we had a magnificent view over the bay from our terrace. It would have been useful if there had been written instructions for using the safe and TV in the room. Indeed, both our safe and telephone were faulty, requiring a number of staff call-outs and long periods without telephone contact with Reception. We would also have appreciated literature pertaining to the island eg how to get about (we only discovered there are (green licence plate) public (mini)buses on the island on our last day), local restaurants (not many!), comprehensive information about places to visit etc. Assistance from Reception was largely limited to making contact with agents responsible for the tours advertised on their wall, many of which were more suitable for youngsters (zip wires, tough hikes) or those inclined towards party boat trips. We were unlucky when we asked Reception to provide a taxi driver to provide a private day tour to the Soufriere area (Morne Coubaril Estate, Diamond Waterfall and Botanic Garden, Sulphur Springs “volcano drive through”) - Fred is best avoided but Samson (who did our runs back to the airport) was good. Marigot is at least an hour away from things to see, often on tortuous potholed roads. The island is not easy to get around without a rental car which also makes buying food provisions difficult. There is Pam’s Community Store about 15 minutes’ “slog” away, at the top of the steep hill opposite the Resort, and Promise Supermarket is another 15 minutes and another hill further, but they sell little other than basic dry goods and no alcohol. One needs to be able to drive to visit a “proper” supermarket like Massy’s. The Resort’s swimming pool is extremely small, as are the two private “beaches”; swimming/snorkelling in the bay is underwhelming. A heavy palm branch fell on me whilst I was on the beach, luckily deflected somewhat by a sun umbrella so that no major injury was sustained, but it could have been much worse. The Resort’s shop, gym, and spa were not open, massages could not be arranged, and despite being advertised on the boards, the restaurant’s specials nights did not occur. Luckily, we had more to fill our time as our main reason for visiting St Lucia was to do some scuba diving. We did this via Dive Fair Helen (DFH) who have a dive shop on the premises. Although the Resort website states that they do dive/accommodation packages, no details are given without emailing and there is no link to DFH from the Resort website; one has to search the internet and contact them separately to obtain information. One can also hire kayaks or book snorkelling trips at the dive shop.

We booked this place via the internet for an all inclusive day pass on as a cruise. The woman who checked us in was disinterested and did not know how to process the pass. We waited a half hour for her to figure out what to do with us. Also, calling this place a beach club is a stretch. There is a little beach with some tired old chairs. The environment on the whole is pretty and a lot of people were diving. The water was clear and there were cool fish so it could be great for that, but we were there for the day resort advertised on their site. The biggest failure, by far, was the service. We appeared to be turned over to the Doolittle’s restaurant for the all inclusive bit. We returned to the bar several times for beer and eventually our orders were filled. When it came time for lunch, they kept pushing back the time it would be open from 11:00, then to 12:00 and ultimately 12:30. When they finally begrudgingly seated us, they simply ignored us for about 30 minutes. Eventually, we just got up and left and found a taxi to return us to our ship for lunch. In the end, for a total cost of over $150, the two of us got three small beers each and a pair of 20 year old chairs on a public beach. We recommend others considering Marigot Beach Club pass on the day pass.
