We were a group of 7 adults, 2 teenagers and one child who stayed at the Hanabanilla resort for 3 nights during the last week of July. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hotel was very clean as well as our rooms. The view was magnificent from our balconies (all the rooms face the mountains, the lake and the pool).... More

Wanted to go to El Nicho falls but found this place to stop for the day as the driver told us that the falls stop due to lack of rain, not sure if he was lying as its common in Cuba since we did not understand spanish!!!! Anyway it did not matter as we found the this hotel excellent to... More

I stayed for one night at the Hanabanilla Hotel south of Santa Clara. It is located on large reservoir. The surrounding hills are beautiful with tobacco fields and palm trees. The hotel when built would have been beautiful. It does suffer a little bit with the maintenance. As with many Cuban hotels, you must be patient when checking in as... More

It was along drive to get this spot but when we arrived we were blown away by the views. Hotel itself is adequate. Room was small but clean. Very basic bathroom facilities. Walls were quite thin and you could hear what was going on in adjacent rooms. Food nothing to write home about but we didn't starve. If you travel... More

I stayed at Hanabanilla for 4 nights and I fell in love with the area! First of all, let's talk about that breathtaking view! Those pictures aren't photoshopped, trust me! The hotel is very simple, there are about 100 rooms in one 4-storey building and all the rooms have the lake view. There's only 1 buffet, the food there is... More

a 2-night stop off on way to Trinidad become 1 night very quickly after we arrived at what was accurately described as an unappealing building in a stunning setting. But the staff are so apathetic and the food so appalling that we left as early as we could to continue our travel to Trinidad (if we could have secured a... More

never get tired of repeating this hotel. i normally try to avoid it at the peak of the summertime - as it is fully crowded - but i decided to take the risk this time. and i was not disappointed. it goes without saying that you should not expect to find a gourmet menu or a service of excellence in... It is very bizarre to hear of dirty rooms here. My husband & I just returned from 2 nights here & had a brilliant time. Our room was comfortable & spotless with a decent bathroom, of course old fashioned decor but this hotel is government run & only cost £30 a night. The view from the rooms is absolutely stunning.... This was the most horrible hotel we stayed in!! The room was not clean at all, the bed smelled disgusting and there was mould all over the place. The building is clearly in a bad state and there seems to be no maintenance. The breakfast was bad, the pool area was dirty and there wasn't even an acces to the... More

The hotel is situated on a hill overlooking the artifical Hanabanilla lake. With nice weather it will definitely be nice views from the hotel. We were not lucky with the weather when we arrived. It was windy and some rain. This might have influenced my review. The check in was professional and fast. The room was mall and not very... More
