Looking at the hotel from the outside gives the impression of a not too good hotel but once inside, the ambience, decor and aesthetics are pleasing to the body and soul(hotel should do something about the outside painting). The staff are pleasant especially when engaged and they are willing to help. The facilities comprise a nice swimming pool and pool bar with outside sitting, a gym (that has seen better days) a restaurant with continental menu. The food is well prepared. There is 24hrs power supply and Wi-Fi is available and fast though cuts off intermittently. Parking space is available in 2 areas. There is a conference/events/church centre behind the expansive hotel. The rooms are spacious enough though some of the wooden bits of furniture seems to be falling apart. The bathroom is good, hot and cold water available. Branded toileteries. There is complimentary tea/coffee and the rooms have electric kettles. All In all a good hotel that I will definitely visit repeatedly…
Easily one of the older hotels in Calabar, it is quite spacious in and out with lush grounds. Unique African artwork is all over the reception as you walk in. There is a swimming pool and adjoining bar close to a large fitness room. However age is telling on the facility. Sanitary fittings are visibly old while there are plumbing defects with wet floor from the bath tub of my room. Wifi exists but very weak and failing. The restaurant meals are good. Sleep quality was quite good save for the incessant power outages and subsequent change-overs to generators. There are a couple of meeting/function rooms. A good place in Calabar despite the flaws.
i lodged there for a few nights. most bad hotel i have ever seen in my life. since this older woman took over the hotel, situation in that hotel become worse and worse year by year. no more interest in this Business, no Investment to maintain it!!! rooms dirty, unfriendly workers, no service, pool is untended, food quality is good enough for dogs, garden is full of insects, no cleanliness, internet not working, loud rooms, generator is located on the parking area and is making lot of noise, wahala everywhere......... end of the day: totally ruined!!! Me i will go to other hotel next time!! My result: not recommended
The rooms in the hotel are clean and decent. However, food takes forever to get ready. If you are looking to relax, the pool is not so bad. The gym is also open to outsiders to use for a fee. Great idea for those looking to keep fit.
I didn't even stay at this hotel but the service was crap from the minute we walked in!!! Doesn't seem like a friendly/welcoming place to stay. Please beware. Our booking was given out even though we called weeks before and still called the confirm several times up until the day we were to arrive.. Only to be given attitude when we were told the room we wanted was given away.
