Nestled in a prime location, Malliouhana Resort is celebrated for its vibrant atmosphere and picturesque views, complemented by live music, though some have noted it can be a bit loud. The spacious, well-appointed rooms receive accolades, although soundproofing has been a point of contention. Despite criticisms regarding value for money and some service inconsistency, the hotel's cleanliness, family-like service, and top-notch amenities, including a luxurious spa and excellent dining, are frequently lauded. The resort's proximity to fine dining, beautiful beaches, and snorkeling spots makes it a sought-after destination.

One amazing hotel! I can't say enough good things about the Malliouhana, An Auberge Resort. From location, to the service, to the food, it was perfect.

One of the things that really stands out is the people. I really feel this made it one of the best hotels we have stayed at in the Caribbean. The team did an amazing job from top to bottom - no detail has overlooked. It is a testament to the fact that you can have a beautiful hotel, in a beautiful location and still set yourself miles apart with an amazing staff and wonderful service. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel special. Everyone had a smile on their face and did everything they could to make us feel welcome. One of the hotel's managers looked over us and made sure we had everything we needed. Another hotel employee offered to drive us down personally to a nearby restaurant for breakfast. They made us feel welcome in every situation.

The rooms are very comfortable and incredibly well designed from every aspect. We stayed in room 68, which had a fantastic view which you can see the ocean and shoreline. Anything you need is a quick phone call away. Or you can pop your head outside and ask anyone from the hotel for help...there is no shortage of willing participants. The hotel is in the perfect location with fantastic restaurants surrounding you - both walking distance and just a short taxi away.

We originally booked the Four Seasons and after going to dinner there one night, I’m really happy we didn't stay there. It was huge and way too many children. We had dinner around 8:30 and kids were running around. While the food was good, there are far better choices on the island at half the cost.

Best places to eat on the island: Veya Restaurant, Blanchard's Restaurant  & Blanchard's Beach Bar, Celeste at the Malliouhana, Jacala Beach Restaurant, and the Straw Hat Restaurant. Our favorite beach bar was Elvis' Beach Bar

This was one of the best vacations we have ever had and the Malliouhana was definitely a big part of it.
If you want to know more, please just message me. I am happy to go into much greater detail. Bottom line - I recommend this hotel to anyone...life is too short, just go!

We loved staying at the Malliouhana on Meads Bay -- the beach was lovely and the area had many restaurants walking distance from the resort. The beach staff were fantastic setting up your chairs and umbrellas, bringing bottled water and the occasional smoothie. All the staff were friendly and welcoming. Our room overlooked the beach and was spacious with a lovely balcony over the beach. Sunsets were magnificent. We would definitely consider returning to this resort.

My husband and I were just there this past January for our 25th Anniversary and I was blown away by the beauty of the hotel and the blue blue water. Each member if the staff goes out of their way to be friendly and helpful. Poolside service is perfect. Ice buckets full of water are placed next to your chairs, plush towels are tucked into lounge chairs and infinity pools blend in with the ocean. I want to go back!!!!

We checked in at 1:30. We were told to go to the beach and they’d come and get us when our room was ready. Nobody came. At 5:30 we walked to the front desk. They said our room just became available. Hmmmm...

While on the beach our water wasn’t refilled until we asked Ian. The beach attendants stayed under the umbrellas at the water station.

I asked for a do not disturb sign at the beginning of the stay, but we never received it.

Daily our room was missing coffee, water, treat at night, coffee mugs. I stopped keeping track of missing things.

There was no amenities book in our room. We never knew they had in room dining.

The first night the shower drain was clogged and there was no conditioner in the bottle.

The staff didn’t know where Turtle Beach was.

We called to make reservations for a restaurant. They never called us back. We walked to the front desk to inquire why and they said the restaurant was closed. Why didn’t they tell us that??

One day in the morning at the beach Scarlet said they were out of bottled water. We opened the ice chest next to her and it was full of bottled water! Why lie!?

Bathroom not cleaned properly, turn down service was a no-show.

It was an endless stream of disappointments. We thought we would have an Auberge service, but we stayed at a hotel that the staff is dishonest and shows a lack for details.

It’s unfortunate because Meads Bay is beautiful. We will not be returning.

My wife and I spent a week at Malliouhana for our Babymoon and had a fantastic time overall (with some caveats). This hotel is home to one of the most spectacular and photogenic places in Anguilla. The sunsets are magical and the elevated location of the hotel creates an immersive view of the blues in the ocean. Meads bay is the perfect location to explore Anguilla! The hotel is designed perfectly for its setting, the pool area is beautiful and lined with palm trees creating a visual oasis. The rooms are generously sized and well appointed with excellent washrooms (toto toilets, double sinks, etc). The breakfast is out of this world, make sure you swap out the breakfast potatoes for the homemade hash brown! The food in general is very good, slightly higher priced than some of the other spots in Anguilla but on par with higher end locations. The Malliouhana provided a delicious cake on check in to celebrate our baby moon and upgraded our arrival transportation from the airport to the hotel, which was truly appreciated!

This hotel is close to a 5 star in my opinion, but does lack in the service vs what I believe is their competition on the island: the Four Seasons and Belmond properties. We visited both of these properties for breakfast/lunch during our time in Anguilla and there is a noticeable difference in service from arrival to departure. At the Malliouhana, outside of the pool staff, most of the other staff seemed uninterested and disengaged which left my wife and I with a bit of an unusual feeling at times. Compared to hotels we’ve visited in a similar price range, it was surprising to not have consistent and positive engagement with the staff, it felt at times we were bothering them. Outside of the pool staff, we were repeatedly asked for our names and room number over the course of our 7 day stay, which was surprising for a smaller boutique hotel. We found out one evening through chatting with staff that we weren’t extended the invite to the managers cocktail reception and rum/chocolate tasting in the lobby. Coupled with the service, it felt like we weren’t being acknowledged.

At departure we had a couple of small corrections needed to our bill, which were swiftly taken care of. However, when I provided feedback about the staff and some specific negative experiences mentioned above, it seemed like we rushed out of the hotel without a care in the world. While there were some clear areas this hotel is in the ultra lux category: primarily the design, location and food what this hotel lacks is service and personalization which IMO is the difference in true 5 star experiences. We ended up booking Malliouhana over the Four Season in this case due to a slight savings and resort credit offer from Auberge’s Cyber Sale. Given my experience, unless there is a material culture change I would opt for the Four Seasons (or Belmond), the difference in price seems justifiable.

We are surrounded by some of the best beaches in the world, such as Meads Bay, and I am so grateful that you got to experience its beauty. I'm pleased to learn that you also enjoyed our culinary institutions, namely the delicious breakfast at Celeste - the hashbrowns you mentioned are also some of my favorites. This is a 5 star hotel, on beautiful Meads Beach. We stayed at Malliouhana for 20 days and we could not have had better accommodations and service. Whether we were at the beach, pool, restaurants, bar or anywhere on the hotel grounds, the hotel staff was always accommodating to our requests and focused on insuring our comfort. We had a large room that included a dining table, couch, large double sink bathroom and closet. The room had a double terrace, which included table and chairs, circular lounge for two, and a lower terrace with two chaise chairs, overlooking beautiful Turtle Bay. The rooms were very clean and well maintained and we received day maid service and evening turndown service. All rooms face the west, so all guests can enjoy the evening sunsets. We had many meals at the hotel, including breakfast, lunch and dinner and the new chef, Shane, offered delicious, creative meals and went out of his way to accommodate our tastes. It is apparent he is creating an updated menu offering. One of the nice things about staying at Malliouhana is that there are a number of restaurants that are within walking distance from the hotel, although there are some restrictions during the covid pandemic. The front desk staff were extremely helpful in walking us through all the covid requirements, and made the effort easy.
This was our second visit to Malliouhana and we will definitely be there again soon.

Special thanks to each and every member of the hotel staff and we would love to list each one individually, but there are so many. Also, the General Manager, Jan checked in with guest regularly to make sure they were enjoying their stay.

The Malliouhana is a terrific resort. I went with my girlfriend. Previously, I had not stayed at a non all-inclusive hotel in the Caribbean. Anguilla and the Malliouhana in particular are great places. The infinity pools are amazing. And you have a long stretch of beach with very few people. The hotel employees are all very friendly and helpful. Special shout out to Geshuane who is a great bellman and always welcomed us to the hotel and back, and was always willing to help. Food is very expensive, but that's everywhere on the island and the price you pay for the isolation and peace. I'd highly recommend.

The property itself (lobby, rooms, design, etc.) is gorgeous. It has a warm, relaxed, boutique, charming, unpretentious vibe, in contrast with the Four Seasons which has more of a sterile / impersonal feel. The beach and pool area are stunning (and nicer than Four Seasons). All amazing.
However, this place falls apart when it comes to staff and service, and attention to small details. When it rains, puddles accumulate and are not taken care of. The machines in gym are not connected to cable so you cannot watch TV while exercising. The espresso machine in my room, as well as my neighbors room, were both broken. There were never any cups in the water station. The front desk and bar area more often than not had no staff visible / present to assist guests. The pool service is not visible. Some of the staff do seem to try, and they're friendly / nice, but they clearly have not had the Auberge training. The quality of service is a 0 out of 5. I have stayed at other Auberge properties and the difference in the staff and management is night and day. It was very disappointing, especially for the price.

This property has so much potential but the service falls flat. My husband and I have been to quite a few Caribbean hotels and while we both agree the facilities and beach at Malliouhana were at the top of our list, we were surprised at how unhelpful the staff were.

At the Meads Bay beach, we weren’t sure if they offered food/drink service brought to your beach chairs until halfway through our trip because no one was ever walking around to take orders. At the Turtle Cove beach, there was one other group of guests who actually asked for a staff member’s phone number and would text their food/drink order to her because no one was ever around. That’s not our style, so we ended up walking to the bar (not a short walk) when we wanted food and drinks. There was one time that the staff member taking my husband’s order assumed we were hanging out at the pool and offered to bring it over for us. When he told them we were actually at Turtle Cove, they seemed unhappy with the idea of bringing the food and drinks that far (granted, I don’t believe they actually voiced this, he just got the sense from their reaction) so he waited for the food and drinks and walked back with them himself.

Additionally, for $1,000+ a night, I would expect a beach attendant to set up your chairs with towels every morning. That did not happen once while we were there on either beach. We went over to the towel stand ourselves and set up the chairs, and in the case of Turtle Cove, we learned to grab towels from the pool to bring them down because there were never enough (if any) towels down there. All this to say, we received worse service than I would expect at a hotel that costs half the price.

One staff member who deserves a shout out is Yennifer. She sat us at breakfast multiple mornings and was by far the most pleasant staff member we encountered.

Overall, it’s unfortunate because it’s a beautiful property in a beautiful location, but we won’t be back and hope management can take our experience and appropriately train the staff.

My husband and I were scheduled to go to Malliouhana in 2019, but because of events beyond our control we needed to reschedule for 2020. It was worth the wait! Malliouhana is a dream come true. The hotel, the service, the food on the island, and the total vibe were outstanding.

I loved the hotel and the feeling of lightness and relaxation we felt the moment we arrived. We booked a corner room, and the panoramic view of the beach and the pool area was simply majestic. We noticed the large and small details: the dolphin inlay in the tile, the bamboo in the lighting fixture, the TV hidden in a mirror (which we never turned on), and the the colorful, Caribbean florals everywhere. The service was impeccable. I would have to list a dozen names because everyone was warm and welcoming. I do want to call out Tomica who was with us from start to finish. Just delightful! Finally, the food... we ate at the hotel restaurant a few times, but the joy of Anguilla is discovering the many outstanding restaurants scattered across the island. Some of our favorites were Hibernia, Blanchards, Pimms, Ember, Straw Hat and Leon’s. Finally, you should definitely swim, walk, and explore. And be sure to get a massage. I had the one where you have two masseuses working out your kinks. Best massage I have EVER had.

We have been to Anguilla three other times and rented a private residence, which was lovely. Now we have a favorite hotel on the island also. Will we go back to Malliouhana? Yes, yes, and yes!

They are currently building a new spa and I did see gym equipment in there and someone running on a treadmill one morning, however I can't guarantee that it would be available as they are doing construction on the building. But the hotel is not on the main road and would be totally safe to run on. However, why run on the road when the beach is one mile long?:-) Enjoy your trip. You will have a great time.
