I was so happy that I found The Frangipani Beach resort! I loved the idea that it is a smaller hotel. We had booked a “girlfriends” vacation and everyone in the group was impressed and happy. Once we checked in at the front desk by the beautiful spa pool, we were escorted to our villa and given a tour. Of course, as soon as we could, we all jumped into the ocean. The beach is spectacular. Once thing you will notice about Anguilla (and Mead’s Bay Beach) is how clean it is. We enjoyed our first night’s dinner at Straw Hat. I loved the simply grilled fresh red snapper and recommend. My friends loved their dishes as well. One had the vegetable gyoza dumplings and another had the seared honey rosemary pork chop. On another day, we enjoyed lunch at Straw Hat. It is a great place for lunch, too and the view of the water is spectacular. The staff at Frangipani made us feel like VIPs! I think it really is a wonderful place. Thank you Frangipani!…

Hotel's Favorite
Although we have been to Anguilla several times, this was our first time staying at Frangipani. The beach is perfect and the staff are amazing. Special thanks to the hotel manager John, who truly went the extra mile for us. When we cancelled our original vacation in January due to fear of Covid, he let us keep our deposit as a credit rather than charging us the cancellation penalty. When we finally arrived last week he was a wonderful host: stocking our room with pre-ordered food and always checking in with us to see how we were enjoying our vacation. Due to a scheduling problem on their end, we wound up being upgraded to staying at the Villa: a treat beyond description! We already have our reservation in for January and can't wait to return.

I have been trying to book this hotel for a couple of years, but they are usually booked for the dates we were looking for. We finally managed to book a room for the last week they were open in August (they close down for 2 months for maintenance during the slow season) and I was pretty excited. I spend a lot of time searching for small, compact, boutique hotels where we can walk just steps out of the room and be at the beach and pool and a restaurant. I also love a hotel that has palapas on the beach. And this resort was all that. My first impression of the hotel when we arrived in the pouring rain was that the pictures don't do it justice. John met us at the front desk with an umbrella and let us know that we had been upgraded to a suite. Daniel was on hand to take care of our luggage. Sunny (John's rescue dog) was also on hand to greet us which just kind of gives you a warm, cozy feeling. Our room location was more than perfect, and the suite was an unexpected surprise. My husband has mobility issues and I greatly appreciated that the hotel was more than accommodating. They arranged taxi's and ferry's and graciously answered any questions we had. John and Sunny even drove us back and forth to the Ocean Echo for lunch. We sat by the pool and the beach and had the opportunity to decompress and grieve a little bit. I would go out to the beach as soon as the sun started to rise and drink my first cup of coffee for the day. There was a rooster that crowed bright and early (which I love) and on my first morning at the beach there was a mama chicken and 3 tiny babies wandering around just looking for a morning snack. It was pretty cool to watch them. We have traveled all over the Carribean, Mexico and parts of Central America for the last 35 years in search of beautiful beaches and small, out of the way hotels. I rented the attached 4-bedroom villa for a week in May for my family to celebrate my milestone birthday and wedding anniversary. I can’t say enough good things about this resort, the staff and the amenities. First prize absolutely goes to the general manager John! His personalized attention to us, from my first interactions with him by phone and email to our final checkout, was simply superb. I have never experienced this degree of service in my long life. The villa is a paradise in itself with a private pool, beach shelters, full service kitchen (much better equipped than our own), and en-suite bathrooms for each bedroom with elegant tub, shower, and private outdoor shower to choose from. The housekeeper, Rita, is an absolute gem. She cleaned the entire villa, top to bottom, EVERY DAY! My wife wanted to kidnap her and bring her home with us 😊. The Straw Hat restaurant and it’s staff were superb. They pulled out all the stops to provide us with a memorable celebratory birthday/anniversary dinner. I could go on and on, but you get the idea. Words can’t describe the amazing time we had! The people and resort are exceptional. We stayed in the new rooms (11) and had the most spectacular sunset! We had no noise from the restaurant below, the restaurant closes at 9.It was our 10 year anniversary and we couldn’t have celebrated in a better place 🧡

We spent 4 nights at Frangipani in July 2023. We stayed in a 1 bedroom suite. We were right by one of the two pools and steps away from the beach and Straw Hat restaurant. The staff were very friendly and made us feel immediately comfortable and at home. This is the kind of place we really enjoy. The staff are always available if you need something, but are otherwise inconspicuous. We ate at Straw Hat several times and were served with delicious meals. Meads Bay is a beautiful bay. While there are several resorts, it never felt crowded. There were many times we were just about the only ones in the water. The resort is perfectly placed, toward the middle of bay. You couldn't ask for a better place to stay!

We really enjoyed our stay at Frangipani. The staff worked hard to assure we had everything we needed. Juman took great care of us on the beach. John, the manager, was always around and helped with anything. The boutique resort sits right on Meads Bay. The loungers at the pool or on the beach are comfortable. My wife had some spa experiences at the on-site facility and enjoyed them. The Straw Hat restaurant is on site and serves all 3 delicious meals each day. A great vacation and we can’t wait to return.

This was our 2nd visit (other during Covid, Nov. '21) We wanted to try it again ...SO glad we did! This has moved into our top Caribbean Resort once we experienced it without all the hassles! Flying direct on AA from Miami was HUGE, not going thru St Maarten. John, the GM, was fantastic & quick to respond to e-mails when we were reserving our room 1 yr in advance! 6 weeks prior, I asked him a question regarding dinner reservations and he asked me to send him our plans. The concierge team made all the reservations & pre-arranged taxi rides. Sent us our weeks itinerary (3 page long) a few days later! Shout out to the Front Desk Team:) We loved the quietness of May, being low season. The weather was amazing, sea temps warm and we were able to sail the Hobie Cat every day. Shout out to the Water Sports Team:) Bonus is having Straw Hat on premise; great Breakfasts, Lunches, Dinner & RUM PUNCHES! We enjoyed long walks on the beach and walking up to Leon's or Blanchards barefoot for lunch. A nice surprise this time was Savi Beach Club. Jacala was closed, so we switched our reservation to Savi our 1st night (Sat tasting menu for $75/pp, 5 course meal). Fantastic dinner! We went back again for drinks one afternoon & dinner again on our last night. I was skeptical based on reviews, so glad we went. Also, had a fantastic dinners at Straw Hat, Sharkey's & SandBar (Tapas in Sandy Ground)! Very disappointed in Veya & Oceans Echo, however. We scheduled our dinners around the LIVE music schedule that we found on the Anguillian Tourism FB page. Only thing we'd do different is go to Dunes Preserve to see Bankie Banx on his Sunday afternoon set. We went on a Wed Night (advertised started at 9:30pm but really didn't start until 10:15ish. We left at intermission). We were hoping to go on the FrangiCat, but it was still out of commission. The front desk arranged a private day trip for us with "Gotcha" I think we paid about $950 for this. We snorkeled 2 sites and went to Prickly Pear & Sandy Island (great lunch!) We've found our perfect gem in a boutique resort. When our calendar opens up again, we will be back!…

The manager and front desk staff make the resort special. They are genuinely nice people who care about their guests. Straw Hat food was excellent! Anguilla taxes and service charges everywhere are annoying .. but the hotel is nice and a good value compared to other places on Anguilla.. Meads Bay is awesome.
