The place is cute, the bed is comfortable BUT I did not expect to see babies & little kids here. There are 8 units & to the best of my knowledge each room has 1 bed maybe a chair, a bathroom & that's it. We stay in similar places in Prescott, Cottonwood & Jerome and no babies, no kids. With that being said we were surprised to say the least. So quiet nights & mornings don't exist. The walls are thin. It's too bad,and we were looking forward to relaxing & sleeping in but unfortunately we won't return.

I really wanted to love this place...I read so many 5 Star and completely positive reviews that my expectations were high. I love the story of the young couple who bought the rundown place and turned it into a cute roadside Inn and I wanted to support their efforts and the town of Strawberry that most travelers just pass through. Unfortunately the Inn didn’t meet my expectations... Although the rooms were nicely decorated with updated style, this had been done several years ago and the room, especially the bathroom needed some maintenance attention. There was a crack/hole in the shower wall, mold in the shower stall upper corners, cracked backsplash tile by sink and the mirror looked worn. The 2 chairs in the room looked worn or needed cleaning. The room looked fresh and clean, but upon closer inspection there pillow case was stained with what appeared to be make-up. I appreciate that the Inn is trying to be eco conscious by using refillable liquid soap dispensers in the bathroom, however, the soap dispenser didn’t work. These things should be checked with every cleaning. Something to keep in mind when booking a room is that the downstairs rooms are all dog friendly so if your allergic or don’t like the idea of sleeping in a bed that a dog has slept on you will want to book an upstairs room. The Inn has 8 rooms, 4 downstairs and 4 upstairs. There were at least 2 downstairs rooms with dogs during our stay...one that barked whether inside the room or on the lawn area. This made sitting on the porch chairs intolerable. FYI The Inn is right on the busy hwy and there is traffic day and night. There are sound machines in each room to help and the A/C unit is loud so it helps to drown out the traffic. There is also a bar next door that I suppose could be loud on the weekends. So although I admire the young entrepreneur’s efforts and wanted to love the place, I did not.

Hi there! We really appreciate you sharing your experience. We can't improve if we don't know where we've gone wrong, right? We want to let you know that we've already taken steps to take care of the specific issues that you mentioned with the bathroom, and are also looking into some fresh updates for the furniture. If you'd like to give us another shot in the future, please shoot us an email and we will happily host you - on us! Also, while we do love dogs and welcome them in the first level rooms, guests are under strict instructions that they are not to be left alone in rooms, so we really appreciate you letting us know about that situation. Have a great day!

Found myself unexpectedly in Strawberry when I made it to town to late to hit the backpacking trails on the Rim. Was thankful to find this spot had availability as it was very comfortable. The bed was great. Also enjoyed the little grassy area out front and playing a few games. To call this a ‘luxury inn’ is very much a stretch in my humble opinion. I’d say recently renovated with some luxury features. The bathroom is so very average (except for the nice sink / cabinet). I’m 5’ 7” and the shower was almost too short for me much less my 6’ 3” son. In a hot place like AZ, I’d expect a luxury place to have water bottles waiting for us... instead a gallon jug labels for emergency only and you’ll be charged. If it would have been $25 cheaper and not tried to be something it’s not (luxury) I would have given it five stars. Very comfortable indeed.

My partner and I needed a break from the Phoenix heat and headed to Strawberry Inn for the weekend, after reading much hype about this refurbished chalet. The quick review is that The Strawberry Inn lived up to the praise. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay - both at this inn and in the Strawberry / Pine towns. We’re happy to find an alternate weekend place to visit that isn’t on I-17N. The inn is an old chalet recently refurbished into an 8-room inn - with four rooms on first floor and four on second floor. I think there’s a multi-room rental attached for families (but do check as I might be mistaken). The inn is located on route 87 right as you enter Strawberry coming from Pine (appr. 3 miles apart). At first I was worried about privacy and noise. The inn, much like a motel, faces the front / parking lot / yard games & picnic table. When we arrived early Friday evening, a family was enjoying the front lawn space. We were super tired and needed to do a bit of late Friday work, having left early for the drive and bit of sight-seeing. I was worried that peace and quiet would be an issue. But honestly as soon as we closed the door - we were on 2nd floor - we heard nothing. And during our two night stay, we slept amazingly well - and we didn’t hear a peep from the other guests. This also is due to the awesome bed - super comfortable mattress and comforter. I miss that bed already. We did hiking on Saturday so coming back to the bed was heaven. We did enjoy early morning and early evening porch sitting. Our stay was peaceful and overall relaxing. One tip - the restaurant Old Country Inn in Pine - also lived up the great reviews. Basically a pizza place and the food was superb and delicious. It was super busy on Saturday night but there’s an attached / separate bar. We grabbed fluids and sat outside in the so much cooler weather in early evening. Waited for about an hour plus - but honestly didn’t mind as just enjoyed the beer and sitting out in the cool weather. And then when we did grab a table, the pizza - and the salad - were both amazingly delicious. Do go if you can.

We loved our overnight stay at The Strawberry Inn! It was a very quiet, comfortable stay. The bed was super comfortable too. We had no cell service the entire time, so be aware of that as I didn't realize that going in. Wifi in the room worked perfectly on my laptop though. We will definitely go back!
