This hotel is meticulously planned by its owner. It is really wonderfully appointed and thought out and I appreciate its chic understated charm. I do think it is expensive and anyone who likes the finer things I wouldn't recommend it. It is incredibly chic but quirky. At first the distance from facilities didn't bother me but I can understand why... More

Hotel Raya offers a truly unique experience of pared back unpretentious chic. In my view there is nothing lacking. We loved the simplicity of the rooms with the close to nature ambience that resonates. The slightly demanding walk from the main hotel to our room was delightful after a beautifully prepared healthy meal offered at the restaurant. The pool area... More

Again, reflecting what some have said below, this isn’t a 5 star review because the hotel was perfect per se, but because the establishment perfectly reflects its location. This was my first time in Panarea, which I now think of as the nonpareil ‘taste of sweet nothing’ location: it has the (potential) party atmosphere of Mykonos and the vistas of... More

Hotel Raya has the potential to be an amazing, five-star property but it currently doesn't meet those standards, yet charges as if so. We were generously upgraded to a suite on arrival but even the suites, which don't get me wrong are unique and rustic - ours was nestled on the hill with gorgeous views over the sea and sunrise... Stayed at the rooms near the pool. The room I stayed was very charming with good space, a nice bathroom (not too spacious) and comfortable bed. The patio in front of the room with the view of the sea and Stromboli are unique! Pool area is also quite nice, with an infinity pool. Staff was great! Sebastian helped out a... More

Stayed here for a very lavish wedding reception and was utterly impressed from start to finish. With Stromboli's lava glowing on the horizon and simple open plan styling this was a place that will live with me. Not entirely faultless imperfection is the key to beauty.

Best hotel in Panarea. The service has been absolutely exceptional with very friendly staff. A big thank to Sebastian who's has been very helpful and friendly. The different location of the hotel is actually a real plus as you can benefit from different views depending on where you are staying. This has been an exceptional holiday for us and can't... More

Where to start with Hotel Raya?! An enigma if ever there was. In many ways idyllic, in many others, so flawed. I've opted to go with 4 Stars & Very Good as this reflects how much pleasure we derived from our stay, but I do acknowledge the view of those who think it overpriced. We stayed 5 nights & loved... A very quirky hotel, in need of some TLC. The rooms are small, but with fantastic views over the sea, and looking onto Stromboli. The beds are built onto the floor, but the pillows are terrible. Hard lumps of rubber. Very old. The towels have been there since the hotel opened! So thin and worn. You also need to be... More

Dreadful, dirty and low quality. Worth a maximum 30 euros a night not 300!!! Clearly there is a massive tourist glut in Panarea who don't care about anything if this place can stay in business. On a positive note, the views from Panarea are good.
