Classic mountain accommodation in a small town. We only ordered breakfast. Room with balcony and toilet - ok Breakfast in the form of buffet, also ok, but basically still the same choice of food. Staff nice and smiling! otherwise the way to the lake Bohinj takes 1hr 20min, you have to cross a few hills, up and down :) It is about the same, but it can be connected to the expressway + highway towards Lubljana. There are several restaurants and bars around the hotel. You can also go hiking. If the weather was bad, the hotel also has an indoor swimming pool and also led to food stuffs.

This hotel is very good if your planning to go skiing. The staff are excellent, particularly Natasa & Teja the receptionists. They helped us to look up bus routes and their timings. We opted for b&b which was good. The restaurant dishes were okay. This hotel is ideal if your looking for some rest. There is zero things do in Cerkno. We kept on travelling outside of Cerkno to do things. There are only two local bars nearby. There are also a few grocery shops nearby and a bakery. If you don’t drive or hire a car then this location is definitely not ideal! We paid €169 for a taxi from Ljubljana Airport to Cerkno! The views are absolutely amazing! We had a river right outside our balcony and drawing the curtains each day to the view from our windows was absolutely amazing! 😍

We spent 3 days in the ski resort, eating and drinking at Alpska Perla everyday. The food/drinks were generally really good, but we had some crazy moments with the staff. They were generally very unpolite and rude, and we often heard them fighting and shouting at each other in a very unprofessional way. There was one guy who seemed to be the manager, who was being extremely rude to the other staff and to us. One time he started shouting to his fellow employee because she said a wrong price to us, while waving with the pricelist in front of her face and threatening to "THROW THE PRICELIST IN HER FACE NEXT TIME!". That happened in front of us and other customers, and felt really uncomfortable. There was a another weird situation were my wife ordered a hot chocolate (a melted chocolate drink). The waiter brought her a cocoa drink. When my wife asked if they had melted chocolate instead of the milk with powdered cocoa, the waiter started literally SHOUTING AT MY WIFE that this is their hot chocolate, and she will not get anything else anywhere. My wife then took the drinks to the cashier. The cashier said "two cocoa drinks" and named the price, after which my wife repeated that these were hot chocolates according to the waiter, after which the cashier replied "this is not hot chocolate, we have also hot chocolate but the waiters probably DON'T FEEL LIKE MAKING YOU ONE, BECAUSE THEY ARE BUSY..." My wife said she will not get the drinks and left the counter. After that we tried doing the opposite, I paid for the hot chocolate and went to get the drink afterwards. I got the cocoa drinks instead (keep in mind the hot chocolate is more expensive than the cocoa drink). I said to the waitress this is cocoa drink, not hot chocolate, after which she replied that if I want I can COME AND MAKE ONE MYSELF BEHIND THE COUNTER IF I CAN DO BETTER. I went to the cashier to get my money back, after which came the manager guy and said I got what I ordered, and that I should go away. In the end, after repeated insults and what not I somehow got my money back... We have seen similar situations with shouting and what not with other people as well. I think the owners should consider some training with their staff on professionalism, because this is damaging their otherwise really good business.

I spent my short holiday In Cerkno in April and I loved it. The hotel itself is situated in a really small village practically at the end of the world. A few houses 2 shops and very few people .Perfect escape from a busy and stresful everyday life. I was beautiful to be woken up by the birds singing and see hills full of grenery. Ideal place for those who want spend some quiet time with the nature. Helpful and very friendly staff.

It is really hard to be objective here about the hotel Cerkno. It is all about what you are looking for. We wanted to go with kids skiing and for the first time we booked a hotel because we wanted to spend time in swimming pool. And that is the main reason why we booked a hotel. And Cerkno was the second option because our first was fully booked ( Habakuk, Maribor). The room is about expected: oldy furnished, clean at first, but we saw dust hanging from the ceiling. Our room was without balcony, poor view, extra bed was very bad. Restaurant and food is ok, almost very tasty and great with some exceptions like old vegetables! The best thing about the hotel is wellness area! Swimming pool is great, newly and the staff is helpful .That is what we came for and we were very pleased. And the worst part was the wrong informations from the receptionist about ski bus. So,my daughter and husband waited a bus for an hour at the parking because the wrong given information- and we checked it several times and we weren't the only one. The staff in the hotel is kind and polite but unprofessional because they are not giving the correct informations and they are not useful for the guests! For example: if you have a service from hotel to ski centre with a bus and you want to use it and ask about the schedule. First: they give you a wrong information about the schedule and second: you need a free card for ski bus from the hotel and they don't tell you that!!! Everything is like: figure it on your own! So, you want to go to the ski bus and the owner of the bus is yelling at my 8year lod daughter that she shouldn't go with the ski boots in the ski bus!!!!And that you should have some little paper for the bus they give you in the hotel ( which they don't!). I like the skiing place- it is small but very nice! And we bought the ski pass in the hotel- and they don't tell you that!! It is what you ask and have to read on the notice board .

Hotel must be completally renewed. Outside is from eighties, also are rooms, reception,.. pool, sauna and salt room looks nice and were obviously renewed. Food in restaurant is tasty but diversity of offer is poor. Our experience with hotels restaurant was generally bed, waiters are friendly but there is obviously something wrong with the service. Always the plates, glasses and other things remained on tables so guests who came later to the breakfast or dinner didn't have where to sit. A lot of guests where bed mood because of that. On the reception said "Write a complaint". It is a disgrace that such a beautiful Ski-center Cerkno, which is really nice and which I warmly suggest, doesn't have more appropriate hotel. Cerkno is a small village/town and there is not much to do (besides skiing and maybe swimming in hotels pool), that why I would expect that hotel's offer for families would be bigger if they advertise that they are family friendly hotel.

My boyfriends and I spent one night at this hotel during a trip in the area. The outside appearance is that of a concrete block from the seventies and the inside is similarly outdated. The girls at the reception were quite confused and didn't find our reservation easily. The room was not particularly spacious, with quite outdated furniture, but the bed was comfortable. There was a party in the hotel the night we spent there and this resulted in a noisy experience. The bathroom was spacious enough but on the old side. We had dinner à la carte in the hotel restaurant: simple but good, with gluten free options. I didn't have the chance to try the pool. Overall OK for a short stay, but definitely not a luxury hotel: I found it expensive for what is offered. On the bright side, good enough free wifi.

First of all, I would like to say thank you to the reception manager, Majda Rojc, for helping through my booking reservation through telephone and email. Also she have made my stay in Slovenia wonderful! Hotel Cerkno is surrounded by nature so it's ideal for those people who likes to walk around nature. It's also possible to rent a bike by the hotel and discover further areas too even though the hills can be challenging. For those people who have no idea about the area's nor activities, you can always go to the receptionist desk of Hotel Cerkno to ask about it. On the right side of the receptionist desk, there are papers of activities and maps for you to take it My future in-laws, my fiancé and I have arrived in hotel Cerkno at very late hour. Luckily the hotel provides 24 hours check-In. There are two parking lots (one at front of main entrance and other one was nearby the swimming pool entrance). When we went to check-in, a lovely young receptionist lady welcomed us with big warm smile and explained us everything. She left us with big impression due to her lovely endless smile that she showered us whenever we saw her since we would tend to leave early and come back around midnight. The room was clean and great. There was one big mirror, cabinet, table with chair and TV, and balcony. The bed was big enough for me to share with my fiance but I am small and it's always nice to have a big space all to myself after very tiring day. The floor is carpeted and we had own bathroom. The breakfast starts at 7:00 and finishes around 10:30. But keep in mind that the refilling might end around 10:00 depending on the waitresses. Anyways, the breakfast was in buffet form and had many choices (different kinds of bread, cornflakes, cheeses, yogurts, fruits, eggs, bacons, etc). There is coffee machine and you can get your tea as well. We dinner one time (18:00 til 20:30 and it costs 13 euro) and it was also in buffet form with 3 different kind of main dishes, couple of side dishes, 2 kinds of soups and desserts (ice cream, fruits and cakes). Since we were late, they didn't refilled it anymore but it wasn't any problem for us. But it would have been nice if the fruits was refilled since only the peels were left behind. Hotel provides indoor activities just like fitness and indoor pool. We didn't tried the gym but we went to the indoor pool once and tried out the steam sauna as well! It was very relaxing and felt great especially after a long walk. My fiancé and I went to the indoor pool right after dinner (around 21:00) so there was not much people and you can just swim around freely without getting scared of bumping into other people. I would strongly recommended this hotel especially for those people who have a car. There are lists of activities you can reach by short distance! *Shop til you drop and embrace the historical city of Laibach / Ljubljana * ---> 1 hour 8 min / 60.4 km The capital city of Slovenia where dragon bridge and the cathedral St. Nicholas of Ljubljana is very famous. Of course, there more things to see for you to discover the place. There is central market every Monday til Saturday from 7:00 - 16:00 except for on Saturday it's until 14:00. *Make a wish at the church bell in small island of Bled* ----> 1 hour 15 min / 75.5 km The most ironic and beloved place in Slovenia by both tourists and the locals. You can go hiking to get the most breath taking view of the island, rent a boat or even go swim (it's very clear) and even go visit the castle! There are plenty of shops, restaurants and bars because it's very touristic place. Besides Vintgarkloof is just nearby so why don't you combine it as day trip :) *Have a long hike or swim at Bohinjsko/Bohinj* ---> 1 hour 18 min / 49.3km It's much calmer than Bled and some people forget that this place have more to offer! You can escape the crowd and look for your secret swim spot to enjoy your day, you can even just walk around lake or rent a paddling boat, go to the viewpoint from Vogel! For those who want to do more activities than you can even add Waterfall Savica and Mostnica Korita so you don't need to drive around. *beautiful river of Soca Valley* Socal Valley means all the towns which are located around Soca River. - Tolmin is known for Tolmin gorge (49min / 36.5km) - Kobarid is known for Italian charnel house, Napoleon's Bridge, Kozjak waterfall and the world war trails (58km / 49.4km) so it's basically perfect for history lover -Bovec is known for Boka waterfall and you can always add Slap Virje as extra activity or just spend your time swimming at Soca River nearby the parking lot (in total 68.3km) *UNESCO town Piran* ---> it's further away but it's worth it: 2 hour 8 min (135km) Those people who loves historical city, swim in the ocean and who adores sea foods and ice creams! *Exploring the cave and the cave castle in Predjama* ---> 1 hour 23 min / 64.4km One and only cave castle in the world and the cave is also known to be the most magnificent * For the horse lover go to Lipica* -----> 1 hour 35 min / 99.1 km Strongly recommended to those people who loves horse and want to learn about the heritage and breed of lipica horse (white horse) Of course, there are still many and activities which you can do! Price range and quality are just perfect. It's you get for what you pay but with extra benefits! The price of the bar/lounge is local price. Also there is supermarket just next to the hotel which is very convenient as well. Overall, I would definitely recommend everybody to go visit there unless you seek out for night life then I won't recommend this place. But I would suggest you to go to Bled.
