The hotel is within walking distance to the Basilica and the cave as well as the bus stop to the Lakes. It is perfectly located and surrounded by mountains and greens. The setting is serene and inspiring. The lovely old building offers a lot of character and charms. Staff are most helpful, especially Katia, who helped us with reservation, reception, meals and information. This is the perfect hotel for visiting Covadonga

This hotel is located next to the Santuario de Covadonga, an small town, one of the most important areas of the city. Located in the oriental zone of Asturias. Not many shops and restaurants to visit. The food and service as a whole was good. The WiFi signal was slow. The rooms were good enough and the elevators were small with the capacity for 4 people. We were a family of four with a group of more than 35 people and most of  them enjoyed the time.  Good to stay for 1 or 2 nights.

We wanted to stay at this hotel to be on site at Covadonga and to be able to enjoy the place after the day visitors leave. Parking at the hotel is limited and we left our car up near the Basilica, a better option for space but a few steps away. We could go into the hotel through the Cafeteria, a gentleman kindly showed us through to reception. The spaces and rooms at the hotel are of impressive scale, wide corridors and high ceilings. Our room, with lovely view to mountains was very comfortable. Traditional in decor, it had a minibar/fridge but could have done with a second chair, there was plenty of room. The bathroom was also very spacious with a large bath and shower over. Both worked well. A minor gripe the hairdryer, I would have liked a fully hand held more modern one. We took the dinner included rate which was very good value. The food was good quality and well cooked and presented. Just two choices per course but we were happy with the choices. A bottle of wine was included. We asked if a specific type was included and this was happily provided. We would have paid a supplement if necessary. Breakfast was fully buffet style with a good selection of choices. A nice touch was that they had prepared the same table we used for dinner. The staff at the hotel in every area were excellent, friendly and professional. They made us very welcome and made us feel very much at home. Would definitely use this hotel again and recommend to friends.

A beautiful trip to Covadonga. We arrived on a Saturday and that was not a good idea. As Covadonga is a important pilgrimage place there where many busses and cars, no parking available even not at the hotel? There is only a parking slot for checking in/out. After checking in we drove around for over 30 minutes just to be lucky and finally found a parking slot. Back at the hotel we wanted to visit the restaurant but that was, as hotel guests, not possible, the restaurant was booked for groups arriving with the busses. Even in the cafeteria it was first not possible to lunch, as we where told that the kitchen was closed, what is nonsense with the whole restaurant packed wit visitors, not hotel guests. After checking with the reception the lovely reception lady made it very clear to the cafeteria staff that they could not refuse hotel guests or lie to them and finally we where able to have lunch. The lunch on its own was good food. The room was very nice and clean. Such a great hotel but not for the weekends.

The hotel is over 100 years old but does not smell of mothballs or mould. Spacious bedroom with a bathroom that actually does have a bath (not always guaranteed in a bathroom, is it? but so nice to wallow in hot water after hiking in the Picos de Europa). I also much appreciated the bidet (won't go into details!). The bedrooms command beautiful views over the grotto and monuments of this very pretty village. Very friendle staff. Last but not least, the dinner though not overflowing with imaginative flourishes, was tasty and excellent value for money. Really a highly recommended hotel.
