We spent four nights at Chalet Grumer. The location is a bit out of the center of town, but in my mind all that much better. you likely have a car while traveling in this region, so driving an extra couple miles to the hotel make no difference, except that you have a better view and exceptional privacy. The rooms are meticulously maintained and each of them has a great view, deck, or balcony. The cleaning service is efficient non-disruptive. The breakfasts are simple, but the highest quality of both food and presentation. This ins't a 'full-service' type hotel, so if you expect to have minions of staff buzzing around to cater to you, you will probably be disappointed, however, the service was overall spectacular. Anything you needed was available and all requests were fulfilled promptly (e.g. idea for best driving route to our next destination). There was a 'honesty bar' with snacks and a great selection of drinks available in the dining area 24 hours a day (love the vibe of just trusting your guests) and the spa was great. I am not some big spa guy, but the sauna, steam room, bath combo was used daily. If you are looking for something other than the big hotel with the big local reputation, this is your destination. If you decide to go, enjoy.…
Comfortable hotel, nice hosts. The spa was great after a busy day. Breakfast and dinner were really fine. Most important: Chalet Grumer is a relaxing place free from the noise and agitation you experience in big city hotels.
We had a very pleasant, luxurious and re-energizing stay. The suite was very comfortable, the breakfast was really good and the view was amazing. On top of that, the hosts are extremely kind and welcoming.
Great dinners and fabulous hosts Very clean and everything fabulously maintained Incredible location down a forest path Jacuzzi with views of the mountains was a real feature - and great for couples -
Perfect getaway with wonderful views, great food and marvelous hosts. One can admire the sun coloring the mountain tops and deers eating just a few steps away. An oasis of tranquility and beauty. Our family started the summer holiday here, and will definitely be back!
We needed a quiet place after many business trips with high quality food and we found the perfect spot. The owners are passionate about their home and the attention to detail is great without being too much - you really feel at home. There is a very good spa area with indoor pool and various saunas. Outdoor jacuzzi is amazing with view of the valley Dinner was very tasty with lots of locally sourced products and an attentive service. Rooms are large and well appointed. Can't wait to go back and while speaking to the owner they also rent the place exclusively making it a perfect friends /family destination for a group of 10-12.
Why we love this chalet so much? Location is wonderful, views are fabulous! Peaceful atmosphere. The well-appointed suites are spacious and on your private balcony, you can discover the secrets of the Dolomites, play chess or read a book. Philip & Alexandra are lovely people, not to forget their friendly dog Mike. Also the cook deserves our praise, plates are delicious! That's why we will spend our holidays in Chalet Grumer again in 2018!
Calm, relaxed and sophisticated place - with sense of luxorius home. Stayed @ Dolomiti room with my hubby. About food - Very good. Especially loved breakfast setup. Thank you! Hope to be back someday.
The setting of this chalet is beyond compare - peaceful, secluded, and with absolutely wonderful views of the Dolomite mountains. Our suite was beautiful and spacious, the breakfast and dinner were wonderful, and Philip and Alexandra are fabulous hosts. The location is remote so either bring a car or be prepared to hike into town, but not having any neighbors was one of the reasons we chose this spot so it was perfect for us. We would definitely come back!
This hotel requires a car at your disposal as it is some distance down a narrow private road to reach the nearest amenities at Sopra-bolzano. However, as long as you are happy with the narrow road access, on arrival you will find immaculately kept spacious rooms overlooking green meadows and breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. Philip and Alex provide friendly service and can offer tips on things to do. If you are a dog lover, their huge chocolate labrador Mike is always around (except in the dining room) and enjoys some fuss. Relaxation if key here.
