A great alternative to Tina’s. Had no problem with hot water or WiFi. Only downside is hard bed and lack of lighting near bed for reading (which seems to be pretty standard but a reader can always hope!). Yak cheese dumpling were yummy.
The room is basic no TV or internet, but a great view of the gorge. The sheets and towels were clean and the bathroom had a western toilet. The bathroom was clean however the floor did not drain properly. The restaurant was clean and overlooked the gorge. In September we did not need heating or cooling.
We had good cheap lunch at the Bridge Cafe. They do have some more special dishes like pasta pizza and yak cheese dumplings which are a bit pricey but if you keep in mind that you are in the middle of nowhere (and a snickers even is 10 RMB) it is still a very good price. The normal chinese food is pretty cheap. They have several noodle soups and fried rice dishes for 15RMB. They have this food hygienic ranking smily... well it is a red :( so we had a look into the kitchen first but it looked like halfway GH or Tina's. And by the way Sean's (200m away) also has a red :(
This is ne of the best places I have ever stayed. The room are on a cliff edge looking down TLG. At night the sound of waterfalls fills the air (there are several nearby) and it is mesmerising to sit in the room and watch the clouds in the gorge. Much better than Tinas or Seans The bed is a little hard - there is no desk. The cafe has limited range (meat is very limited) but is quite tasty - I like the "Naxi pizza" ...simple flat bread with cooked onions and tomatoes which tastes amazingly good.
Cute little place on the main road at the gorge near Tina's. The view here is absolutely stunning. Both from the room and from the restaurant. They have plenty of rooms and you can choose between rooms with and without the view. We had a 80 RMB twin room ensuite. The mattresses were a bit hard and there was no hot water in the shower, but our window faced the gorge, so we had the beautiful view and could hear the rushing water, very romantic and worth the hard mattresses. Perhas the 100 RMB rooms on the second floor have softer beds. The food in the restaurant was all right. I loved the Yunnan cheese and yak cheese dumplings but my boyfriend didn't share my tastebuds so we had to go elsewhere for dinner. The Baba bread was a little bit boring. The staff was very friendly and they had the cutest little puppy called Chocolate.…
