Detailed Reviews
We found the hotel to be aesthetically pleasing, great location and benefitted from its extremely hard working, friendly bar/restaurant staff. We felt like there were lots of niggles which cumulatively left us somewhat underwhelmed by a supposedly 4* hotel. The food buffet was not great, choice was plentiful but it didn't taste great and many dishes were lukewarm. We ended up eating out most nights despite paying half board. The swimming pools were dirty. There was often a smell of cat poo permeating the air. Rooms were basic. They were cleaned 6 out of 7 days but dirty glasses were not washed or changed. There were 3 of us in the room but only two balcony chairs. Lack of information made available about hotel facilities and local area. We were charged €30 for late check-out which felt a little money-grabbing given everything mentioned in this review. In summary, the hotel was all style and little to no substance for us.

Dear guest, thank you very much for your stay. We regret that you were not satisfied with our service. Our highest aim is it to enable our guests a pleasant stay. We take your criticism seriously and use it to constantly improve our service. Regarding the temperature of the food there is a controlled and constant temperature that must be maintained for the food. there is no case of smell of dirty cats what you have written is unacceptable for us who have cleaning staff everywhere and our rating is very good in terms of cleaning and service. the swimming pools are cleaned daily but unfortunately october is the month of rain and wind and sometimes during the day something falls in the pool. The late check out international has extra fees. we wish you a nice Winter , We would be happy to be given a second chance. With best regards, Acharavi beach hotel team

Hotel's Favorite
This year we discovered Corfu and we feel in love with the island. We enjoyed spending a wonderful week at the hotel after such a long period of pandemic. The hotel is perfectly located near the beach and the facilities are well organized for the comfort of the guests. We were greeted with much professionalism and warmth, and everything was done to make us feel comfortable. International as well as local cuisine available, very tasty food. We met with very friendly and helpful staff. We enjoyed the turtle family in your garden, and the garden is well kept and a joy to admire. All in all, we give you 5 stars. We try to come back.

What a lovely hotel. The front desk, waiter and waitresses were nice and friendly. My biggest praise is to the unsung heroes, the cleaning staff and gardeners etc. The rooms were clean and the gardens and pools really lovely. Cannot fault the personnel.
Food was good with plenty of choices but can be repetitive. Luckily, we were only there for a week. The pools were wonderful and plenty of sun loungers.
The rooms were adequate and nice but the bathroom was a bit dated and the showerhead leaking and needed replacement. But usable.
Main criticism are:
1. No sign displayed near the beach that the sun loungers cost 6 Euros per day to hire. In all our holidays in Europe, this is the first time a beach hotel charges to sit near the sea. Was surprised we were not charged for swimming in the sea.
2. While, the rooms were non smoking, smoking was allowed on the balcony.
This was most unpleasant when you are a non smoker and the adjacent rooms were filled with smokers puffing away on their balconies.
Would have been nice if they had blocks of rooms where smoking were permitted on the balconies and some entirely non smoking.
3. While not the hotel's fault, there was a persistent owl that kept squeaking like a submarine sonar every night. Some nights, it was a fair distant from our room, quite a few nights it was literally outside the room. Most guest we spoke too dreaded his nocturnal visit.
4. No kettle for coffee/tea. This is a 4 star hotel. Big disappointment.
If management can remedy the above points bar the owl, this hotel will be a real winner!

Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to provide such a detailed and constructive review of your stay at our hotel. We are delighted to hear that you found our staff, including the front desk, waitstaff, cleaning staff, and gardeners, to be friendly and attentive. Your kind words about the cleanliness of the rooms and the beauty of the gardens and pools are greatly appreciated. We have taken note of your feedback regarding the food variety, and we will work on enhancing our menu options to provide a more diverse dining experience for our guests. We also appreciate your observations about the room conditions. We are aware that some areas, like the bathrooms, require updates, and we will address the issues with the showerheads promptly to ensure they are fully functional for future guests. Regarding your main criticisms: Sun Loungers Fee: We apologize for any confusion regarding the cost of sun loungers on the beach. We will ensure that clear signage is placed in this area to inform guests of the charges. Smoking on Balconies: Your suggestion to have designated non-smoking balcony areas is valuable. We will consider implementing this to enhance the comfort of all our guests, especially non-smokers. Nocturnal Owl: While we cannot control the local wildlife, we understand how this could be disruptive. We will look into possible measures to mitigate the impact of such disturbances on our guests' rest. Kettle for Coffee/Tea: We apologize for the lack of a kettle in your room. This is indeed an important amenity for a four-star hotel, and we will ensure that kettles are provided in all rooms moving forward. Your feedback is instrumental in helping us improve our services and facilities. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back in the future and provide you with an even better experience. Best regards, Acharavi beach hotel team

we arrived yesterday at 17:00 to check in, they took us to the first room and there was a surprise, there were people inside, the one of the workers just started lugging and didnt know what to do after a few minute in the sun, she took us to another room, at the second room the floor inside and outside the room was wet and had dust on the ceiling after all of this they took us to the third room that was looking better but than we discovered that we have a clogged sink also we ordered a room with one full bed and got 2 twin bed and their solution was to put another little mattress above the 2 twin mattresses, we got a room with jacuzzi like we ordered but we can’t use it without a plug which they can not find and don't give a solution.
We feel that they are not taking us seriously.
We came here to indulge and all we do since we arrived is to deal with problematic rooms, even today in the morning we came to the reception to talk about it and they said that they will give us an answer later today and after here came later and we came and asked again and they told us again come back in half an hour
We are not ok with that service and attitude and we want to leave this hotel tomorrow but they don’t want to give us the money back for the rest of the days.
Almost same food at breakfasts and dinner and if you want to drink water at dinner you will have to pay for it and can’t get just a cup of water

dear Mr Tal, we are very sorry for your negative review Our staff and hotel management are always at the disposal of the client to fulfill his wishes. You have booked a room with a Jacuzzi. The water you posted in the photo is because the room was recently cleaned by the maid. The room description according to our web site is two beds, not a double. Double bed can be done according to client request, as we did for you. The Jacuzzi works as long as you put water in it. And of course there's a tap for the Jacuzzi water. The half board includes breakfast and dinner. There is no information that drinks or water are provided free of charge during the meals. You wanted to cancel your accomodation with us when you arrived and asking for money back, but according to the cancellation policy you which is written in your booking this is not possible . We had tried to do everything to satisfied your wishes and have a pleasant stay in our hotel by upgrading your reservation in one double superior private pool . And we are very sorry that you have written this review of our hotel, We hope you'll give us another chance in the future. Acharavi beach hotel team

I chose this resort in Corfu fort the long beach of Acharavi, there is no other place on the island with such a long beach. I must say that the beach was perfect, there are a few small stones before entering the sea but then the seabed is fine sand. The hotel charges EUR 6 per day for two sunbeds and an umbrella, a very reasonable price. The hotel is like a village with several different buildings, with a ground floor and a first floor, and a new part called Vissalo. We were in a new building of Acharavi Beach in a room with a shared pool. The pool was shared with another room. I found the room to be perfect: very spacious, brand new, a bathroom with a huge shower, and a beautiful outdoor space with two sunbeds. Truly exceptional room. Although one negative thing must be noted: how is it possible that the room is not cleaned on Sunday? They do not even provide new towels. I understand that Sunday is God’s Day for the Orthodox, I am Catholic so for us it is also the day of rest, but never seen in my life that in a 4-star hotel the room on Sunday is not made up. Truly disconcerting and incomprehensible. We come perhaps to the worst note of the whole stay: the restaurant and the food on offer. For a 4-star hotel, the choice of food was unsatisfactory. For 10 days, it was always the same salads and sometimes the offerings were difficult to understand (Lasagna in Greece, really??). Sometimes there was a choice of meat made on the spot but of miserable quality. Desserts after three evenings were already repetitive... one evening they even had the courage to offer pastries from the night before which were worse than a chewing gum. Breakfast was a better than dinner but with a limiter choice in my opinion for a 4 stars sea resort. I already submitted a claim to the travel agency asking a refund for the price of the half board. Greek restaurant at the beach was very good with a top Gyros. Staff is a mix the lady at the check-in very friendly, waiters some kind and others a little bit rude, beach boy Nikos very friendly. The day of the departure left the luggage in a room with no safe measures, I can understand that the hotel cannot be responsible for this but a better baggage storage is needed (you have to jump on others to collect your belongings). Clients are a mix: a lot German speaking (Swiss, Germans and Austrians) as well as a lot of Italians. The hotel in my opinion is top for the location and the renewed rooms but the F&B part should be completed changed. I rated 4/5 especially for the room and the location as for the food I had to give 1/5.

Dear Athens85 Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed review. We’re delighted to hear that you enjoyed the beautiful Acharavi Beach and found the room with the shared pool to be exceptional. It's great to know that the spacious, modern design and outdoor amenities met your expectations. However, we also regret that certain aspects of your stay didn’t fully meet the standard you expected, especially the food offerings and the room service. Your feedback about the repetitive menu, the quality of meals, and the lack of room cleaning on Sunday has been noted. We understand how these points impacted your experience and will certainly review these areas for improvement. Regarding the food, we are sorry to hear that the variety and quality did not align with your expectations for a 4-star resort. Your comments about the breakfast and dinner options, as well as the service at the restaurant, will be addressed with our team to enhance our offerings in the future. We appreciate your recognition of the friendly staff and will also work on ensuring a more consistent level of service across all departments. Additionally, your feedback regarding luggage storage has been noted, and we will explore better solutions to make this process more organized and secure for our guests. Your positive rating for the location and the newly refurbished rooms is appreciated, and we hope that despite the concerns raised, you still had an enjoyable holiday overall. We will take your review into serious consideration as we strive to improve. Thank you again for your valuable feedback. best regards Acharavi beach team

This hotel has some great points and then sadly some not so great. I think it depends on what you want from a holiday.
Firstly the staff, the reception staff are amazing, we had an issue with our rooms and without any issues they moved us to other rooms, which were lovely, we had a pool view and was very quiet.
Most of the other staff are really friendly, but as in most places you always get the odd one who is not, but it wasn't a major issue. The cleaning staff need huge praise, the hotel is kept immaculate and our rooms was kept spotless, towels changed everyday etc.
The food was really good, always served at a good temperature and plenty of choice, although a bit samey was still really nice.
Our couple of not so good points now. Firstly the smoking, with the exception of inside the main part of the hotel you can smoke anywhere, this may not be a problem for some, but when you are sitting at one of the tables near the outside or even in the other restaurant and people are either at the next table or just outside the restaurant area smoking it is not pleasant, especially as there is also a children's play area near by. Most 4 star hotels we have stayed in have designated areas for smoking, which is a much better idea.
The second issue we have is that although the hotel has all its own sunbeds on the piece of beach right next to the pool and the sunbeds are run by the hotel staff, you still have to pay for them. This is quite frankly outrageous, it seems like it is just a way of making money. For a 4 star hotel this is really poor and is what in our opinion pushes it way down the ranking.
The area in general is quite bad for mosquitos, even the staff were mentioning it, this is not a hotel problem and they do their best, but is something to be aware of when choosing this area.
Overall we had a great stay at this hotel, with just a few issues in general, but certainly did not let it ruin our stay.
Thank you Acharavi Beach Hotel

Stayed in older garden view room. Room could use some updating and is showing signs of wear. Newer more expensive rooms looked nice. Still paid a lot and expected more for price. Beds were very firm, one light didn't work, microwave door makes noise, shower water floods floor, etc... The other facilities like the pools and dining areas were very nice. They charge guests to use their umbrellas on the beach which I thought was ridiculous. Would be nice to offer thin sheets instead of thick comforter only in summer, otherwise AC usage very high

We stayed one night in the Vissalo Hotel (part of Acharavi Beach hotel) and it was amazing!
We were given a swim up pool room and the room was spotless! The bed was incredibly comfortable and the room very modern. The sun was in the swimup pool in the morning, so it was lovely to wake up to.
There are a couple of pools in the hotel and there is a pool bar serving drinks and food. We had no problem getting a sunbed, even at midday.
It was just a 5/10 minute was to the hub of restaurants on the beach I’m the evening, so it was a perfect location.
We tried to book in for another night as we wanted to stay longer, but it was fully booked. We will definitely be stayed again next year!

We stayed here unexpectedly after our first terrible night in an apartment in Messonghi. We could not stay at the apartment and so we looked for a deal with a hotel and stumbled across this one. We are so pleased we did!
We got a taxi to the north of the island at 3am and we were so fed up, but Nixos who was on the front desk quickly offered us coffee, and found us a room. What a relief, and so helpful!
Adding to our pleasure was katia and all the lovely ladies on the front reception the following morning They knew we had a terrible start elsewhere, and were so wonderful and helpful.
We are on our last day today and fly back home tonight.
We want to give special praise to:
The cleaning team! You are amazing. The hotel is clean, we rarely see you as you are like ninjas 🥷 passing through, not disturbing us and making it all so beautiful.
The gardeners! Wow, we noticed all your hard work and will take away lots of ideas for our own garden in France! Thank you 🙏
The main buffet restaurant- nothing was too much trouble! Thank you 🙏
Nixos & Savina always attentive and hardworking on the beach 🏖 we thank you 🙏 Savina you are a charming very sweet young woman, never stop smiling.
The team at the beachside restaurant Agoneas (I’ve probably spelt it wrong) but you’re great! The chef seems to master seasoning perfectly. I enjoyed a wonderful Sea Bass last night, the best I’ve ever eaten! 🐟 the other restaurant Thines, all I would say is smile more, and change your Caesar salad, it’s not up to par, but nonetheless a good restaurant overall.
You are a hotel we never expected to stay in. Yet we had a lovely week. We will return with other family members I’m sure and recommend to friends.
It is not the food or the decor, nor the gardens, or the beautiful setting, with glorious pool that makes a holiday…it is the team who work so hard to make your stay, no matter how short, memorable. Thank you once again.
Keep doing what you’re doing. We appreciate it!

We stayed for a week in the new building, and managed to get the junior suite with private pool at a really good price. The terrace outside with the surrounding private pool had plenty room for 2 loungers plus table and chairs. We got the sun on the terrace from lunchtime and it was set a good bit away from the main pool making it peaceful and comfortable. The pool was a bit on the cold side but we were there late September so the morning and evening temperatures were a fair bit lower than summer.
The room itself is spacious with minimalist decor. It would have been good to have a few more options for hanging up items (partly as we had a couple of thunderstorms!) As with the terrace, it was peaceful and relaxing, as we were quite a bit away from the main building with the restaurant etc.
Breakfast was included in our rate and the selection covered pretty much any taste. We didn’t eat any other meals at the hotel but the restaurant seemed busy every night! There are plenty restaurant options within walking distance if you don’t want to take the half board rate and they are fairly cheap.
Acharavi is a good option for getting around despite being in the north, as there are lots of places within 30-45mins drive. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend!
