We stayed here for a week the end of October into November. Not great weather, but not the hotels fault. First impressions were good. We were told we had been upgraded to a superior bungalow. Entering the room we thought 'nice', bejou, until you want to plug the kettle in! The furniture had to be rearranged because the sockets are in ridiculous places!! The bedside lamps were never on as these had to be used for charging our phones. The outside space was limited, to say the least & constantly wet as water dripped from the roof. It was a muddy walkway used as a short cut next to conifer trees. This made the room dark so we had to have the lights on all the time when in. The hotel Is in a lovely location, right on the beach. They have great outdoor furniture on the terrace & around the pool. It was a shame the cushions weren't taken in when it rained. We struggled to find a dry bed when it was warm enough to sunbathe or just sit out (I got bit to death by mossies using them) The food was OK but could have been hotter. Its a shame the couldn't use space in the restaurant to cook fresh eggs ect. I must say we enjoyed the soup & the food in the a la carte was first class. It's also a shame there is nowhere but a toilet cubicle (next to a cubicle of the opposite sex) to refresh for travelling home after having to check out at 11am on our final day. We were allowed to keep our towel until departure but nowhere for a freshen up. I did feel as though they were winding down for the end of the season as there was only entertainment on two nights (which wasn't the best) & the gardens were full of weeds.…
How to express excellent experience we had at Civitel Creta Beach! Such a hospitality…!!! From the first minute we entered the reception till last minute we left the hotel everything was amazing! Staff, including hotel manager Mr. Perakis, was professional, extremely polite, helpful and always at your disposal at any time. Bungalows are spacey, CLEAN and very nice furnished. There are plenty animations for children, big clean swimming pool, while the beach is sandy. We had all inclusive program, while from the hotel we got one a la crate dinner free of charge. The restaurant has many choices for each ones taste for all meals. Additionally, on the pool bar you can enjoy your coffee or drink accompanied with various snacks (cakes, pizza, sandwich etc). Furthermore, everyday hotel has different happenings such are Greek night etc. definitely we will visit them again very soon!…
We visited for October half term. The hotel is nice but doesn't live up to the pictures or some of the reviews online. This is what we liked: 1. The staff are lovely and very friendly. If you ask for something it gets done, quickly. In fact everyone we met in Crete is very friendly. 2. The location is great, right on the beach, with shops and restaurants within a short walk 3. It's clean everywhere. 4. The restaurant has plenty of hot and cold fresh food and drinks. 5. They are very Covid safe, with face masks required in all communal areas and plastic gloves to serve yourself from the buffet. 6. In room facilities includes a kettle and hair dryer. There were a few niggles: 1. The bungalow rooms look way better in the pictures. In reality they are basic with not enough furniture to store clothes for a couple for 1 week. 2. The beds are set up as 2 singles, and the mattresses are firm. We asked for them to be made into a double and a mattress topper was provided. 3. The drinks in the fridge are not replenished every day. I had to ask at reception for more water, and ask the cleaner for more coffee. 4. Only 1 pillow per person is provided so sitting up in bed to read is painful. The cleaner provided a second pillow each on request. (note the pics show 2 pillows and cushions on the beds which are NOT provided) 5.Ants in our childrens' room. Reported to reception so let's see if that gets sorted. 6. The pool: not heated so a bit chilly in October. No doubt refreshing in August. 7. The restaurant food is OK, not great. Salad bar is excellent, desserts too. Some of the mains taste mass produced and lack seasoning. The spaghetti with pesto has virtually no pesto! 8. No archery "because of Covid"! I didn't realise archery makes you more vulnerable to Covid. Yet you can get a massage!!! 9. Nothing to do indoors if it is cold/raining (except eat/drink). Would be good to have a gym and games room. 10. The hot water is warm, not hot so showers are cool. Again probably welcome in August but not in October. So we probably wouldn't stay again because we were expecting 4* but if you're OK with 3* then you won't be disappointed. …
Such an awesome place with beautiful bungalows and super friendly stuff. Food is great and the beach and the pool area is awesome. The only really annoying thing is cocktails only starting 6pm at the bar inside. So no cocktails at the pool bar with all inclusive. Never had that before in another hotel in greece and for me a very important part of an all inc. trip. So this is not all in for me. But anyway, all other things were great.
Superb location, wonderful premises, great staff! Maybe we were lucky, but we got the newest bungalow near the sea shore. Everything was great. And the location of the hotel allowed to both enjoy the sea in a comfort and quickly get to Heraklion. If you are considering this hotel - based on our experience, it is a great choice.
What a great experience it was! It is the second time we visited this beautiful place and honestly we would like to visit again and again! Amazing people, beautiful bungalows, very clean and tidy, super helpful employees and amazing food (buffet and a la cart restaurant!) The pool is very clean, kids pool and access to the beach! There are also plenty of activities and golf court. So BIG THANK YOU to all of the employees and the amazing and kind hearted hotel manager! Highly recommend it!
Very nice stay in July 2021 (tourists from Poland)! 👍 Very friendly and helpful Staff, delicious food, perfect location of the hotel, we were really impressed by the grill party at the pool one evening. Thank you ❤️
Wonderfull! Best Barmans in the world, Mario and Jannis. Best Mochito in the world also!😀 The pool had very good temperature also the sea. The hotel rooms were very comfortable. Drinks at the bar for free when you have all inclusive. I will have really good memories.
Hotel in close proximity (or rather being part) of the capital city of Iraklion (you can see a local football stadium on the right from the hotel beach and even a power plant in further distance on the left - it did not, however, disturb us)...The hotel has a very enjoyable pool area (water in the pool could be a bit less warm) with easy access to a beach which is just next to the pool area (beach is ok for the location, we enjoyed it but spent more time at the pool). The food was delicious with many different options (all inclusive recommended because of food, not drinks)....We stayed in a bungalow room. First in the basic standard which was a bit out of date but ok. After our air condition got broken and after we had some other complaints (our balcony door was left unlocked twice by the cleaning staff, our room phone was not working correctly and there were some confusions in communication with the hotel staff regarding the broken air condition), the hotel manager (who was very professional and interested in solving problems) offered us a higher standard bungalow room which was in the end a very different experience compared to the original room (very modern design and well equipped),however, the price of that room is normally substantially higher. Animation programs were rather annoying and we could easily imagine the hotel without them. Some of the animators seemed to be speaking only French and communicating only with French guests, we asked them if a Euro football match between Czechia and Denmark can be displayed on the screen in the evening (same as it was the case on previous days with French and German matches) and nothing happened (it was like the tournament was already over). We were not jealous:) but did not understand this. Overall, even with some minuses we experienced, we enjoyed our stay and could imagine that we would come back in the future. …
We had great holiday for 8 days! I planned the holiday to take 2 hotels 4 days every hotel, but! I’ve extended all the week because every thing was ok the great reception staff helped me in everything And the restaurant staff also were not less kind as them!
