Great little hotel ...bit off the beaten track.Friendly owner.Nice pool.Free breakfast. Only criticism is that. A kettle in the room would be nice. Beach is about 400 yards away.....shops and restaurants also very close.

Great accommodation for the price paid! It was very cozy and the staff very friendly! Couldn’t recommend enough! The rooms were being cleaned everyday and the hotel is a short walk from the beach and all other bars and restaurants. We had an excellent holiday!
Very positive experience with this hotel I had in July 2019. Simple, clean, pretty quiet place, convenient location and kind attitude. This is a great option for that price. Rooms been cleaned every single or second day. Breakfasts also OK. No complaints, I' ve had great time over there.
Having chosen an inexpensive package holiday, my husband and I didn’t expect much at Australia. And that was exactly what we got: the room was spacious but with seemingly pubic hairs on the floor and the bed cover, neither of 4 routers provided good internet connection, there was breakfast but it was exactly the same for 10 days (later I learned it had been the same for years.) Nevertheless! We didn’t mind, the place was quiet, close to the beach and nice restaurants, and the owner Harry, despite being under the direction of his bossy mother who was in charge of the bar, seemed to be nice and helpful. So, we’re getting to the fun part. The one in which both me and my husband lost will to ever visit Crete, or Greece again... or live. When we checked into the hotel, we got no information of when we were to check out. No info in the room either. We didn’t mind this though: the agency previously wrote us we were to leave before 16.00. Except being pleasantly surprised with the late check-out, we didn’t ponder much over it. So, we’re getting back from the beach around 13.00 that day, all happy and careless, when the young girl at the reception anxiously tells us we were expected to check out by 12.00. We start apologizing, saying we need 20 minutes to shower and we’ll be right back. So, my husband gets in the shower, I’m putting our stuff in bags... when I hear the sound as if the FBI is about to break into the room. Fast-repeated, aggressive knocking. I open the door with my heart in my mouth, and there I see Harry’s mother, frantically telling me to leave the room in 5 minutes because the check-out was at 12.00, and the cleaning lady has to enter NOW. I try telling her we did not get that information to which she, with a smirk on her face, says it is written “everywhere”, loudly insisting we must leave. Now comes the most stressful 5-10 minutes of our holiday (arguably any holiday we’d ever been on): we’re running through the room, I’m taking a 30-seconds cold shower, none of us gets to wash our hair dirty with salt and sand... I’m just rashly staffing our bags with my hands shaking and water dripping off my hair... but, we manage to get to the reception in minutes. And there, we are informed that we have to pay for one extra night because we didn’t check out in time! Then came the agony of arguing over why we were not just given that information right away, but put under enormous stress and incredibly disrespectful treatment - it went on and on, eventually Harry agreed we didn’t have to pay and left without a word. The young lady saw we were beside ourselves and tried repairing the situation, saying she hoped everything else was ok and that we enjoyed our staying, wished us a nice flight... It took us hours to calm ourselves down, but the bitterness has remained. I remember that experience every time I remember Crete. If you are unwilling to be ill-informed, mistreated, chased out of a hotel and be accused of lying: my warmest recommendation is to be wary of this place.…
This B&B is conveniently located close to the airport (just 15 minutes drive) and the sea (about 300-350 meters). Rooms are clean, the hotel itself is small and cozy and its personnel is smiley and friendly. Another nice thing about Australia is its leisure area with a swimming-pool, beach chairs, palm-trees, flowers, small bar etc. It is often windy on the beach, so it is good to have such place nearby. What I really disliked during my stay was breakfast. Portions were tiny (a slice of cheese, a slice of ham, an egg, some butter and jam) and the food was all the same every day. I would strongly recommend to stay in Australia. There are a lot of restaurants in Amoudara, thus bad breakfasts served in this hotel won't spoil your vacation.
Hotel is well located. Within easy walking distance to central heraklion along the promenade seafront that leads to the stadium on the edge of town but also boasts mountain views. The hotel is 5mins away from the busy main road in amoudara containing many large hotels. Another 5mins takes you to a superb sandy beach. Tourists can easily visit the attractions at knossos the archaeology museum and koules castle from this location. Rooms have a small balcony with view and TV and are comfortable. The hotel also has a pool area and bar much needed to help you relax after a long day touring.
A beautiful hotel with amazing customer service for a very affordable price. The rooms were very clean and well kept, with working facilities like a fridge, a good tv and excellent wifi and air conditioning. The pool was amazing in the summer sun and the barman/owner Harry made our trip speaking great English and doing everything possible to help our holiday experience. We only stayed for a week and were sad to leave but hope to return as much as possible.
This is the most relaxing place to stay. We've been here many times over many years. We use it as a base to go off and visit all the surrounding areas and archaeological sites. And on coming back, if the beach is windy? The pool bar is welcoming. An afternoon sunbathe on the pool sunloungers with a good book and a zesty Gin and Tonic within easy reach can't be beaten. Harry and his Mum are great hosts. We love to catch up with them every year and interesting this year to note that a fair bit of upgrading has been done to the rooms since last year.
I have just finished my summer holiday in Australia hotel and I can say that it was a relaxing, wonderful holiday. The hotel is very clean ,the rooms are spotless with new furniture ,we felt like in a four star hotel.Breakfast means everything you want: scramble eggs, ham, cheese, tomatoes, cucumbers , milk , coffee, jam, together with a Kalimera salute every morning ,a lot of joy to make you feel home.Harrys and his mother are wonderful hosts and they make everything to make you feel good.Don't avoid the hotel is a very good value for money and I mean cheap price for a very good hotel.Discover Crete with a cheap accommodation and you will never regret. I didn't !!!!!
