We visited Eleni village in September and enjoyed it a lot. The very friendly and helpful staff made us feel at home from the start to the end. When the weather was good, the small bungalow was perfect to our needs. In rain, however, it was a bit depressing. The bungalows are lovely located in a garden surrounding a swimming pool. There is a good bar/restaurant and you are allowed to take drinks to your bungalow or pool-side bed. The direct surroundings of Ammadoura are not very appealing. You will need a car to visit the beautiful, remote parts of the island (rent it from the agency down the road). Or rent a mountainbike from the beach to cycle into the mountains just beyond the town's edge. Some points of improvement are the stiff beds (just adding a top mattress could work wonders) and the low diversity of nationalities present: most of them were Dutch. The latter is no major concern as all guests were well behaved and friendly, but be warned if a large population of Dutch speaking... More
