Hotel San Antonio is situated directly on the beach of a city called Podstrana, which is only 8 km away from Split city center, and Diokletian's Palace (under UNESCO's protection). To all our guests, we provide free parking spot, wireless Internet, and beach chairs on our beautiful pebble beach for free. Also, every guest can use our indoor swimming pool, sauna and small fitness area which are situated on the top of the main building. Hotel has one main building, where all deluxe rooms are situated, and one annex building, named "Gala", where all classic rooms are situated, and annex building named "Jona" where all standard rooms are situated. All room types are with air condition. Deluxe rooms are all with balcony and sea view, while every standard room is with partial sea view, and some of the classic rooms are also with partial sea view. Astonishing location of the hotel's restaurant, directly on the beach, makes a simple breakfast special, and while you enjoy using the buffet enriched with various dishes, you can listen to the sound of the waves, and taste Dalmatia. Later on, you can choose between authentic dishes and Croatian vines, weather it is a lunch, or a dinner. Various beverages and cocktails are served inside the bar, on hotel's terrace or even on the beach. Enjoy!

Supposed to be 4*, I think not. The most alarming was breakfast. The dry food is left out daily and just covered with a cloth, not even sealed. Lord knows how long it had been there 🤢 the seating area was dirty and clearly hadn't been cleaned/swept in a long time. My daughter asked for water and the barman said he wasn't supposed to?! No refreshment facilities in room, tea/coffee/water/fridge - nothing. Room cleaning was just a fresh hand towel, not even a wipe round the sink. €5 for a beach towel, €12 for an umbrella. Minimal interaction from staff. Couldn't wait to leave.

First of all, this review is for the Gala Annex building which is a subpar building beside the San Antonio hotel. We arrived thinking we were in the main building but did not realize this was a separate building.
- breakfast was awful, we only had a bit the first day, and we ended up throwing majority of it out as it was disgusting and awful
- rooms in gala annex were awful, shag carpeting which was disgusting, bathroom floors were dirty, hair in the shower and AC barely worked.
- hallways and rooms smelled musty and by the second day smelled of fecal/sewage smell
- we luckily were able to transfer/had to pay 112 euro a day for a room in the main San Antonio building for the rest of our stay. This was a good building, room was clean, sea view room and we were lucky we were even able to be upgraded as the hotel was sold out.
- location is good for beach days as the hotel is right on the beach however it is in podstrana which is one road in and one road out into Split. If you plan on going for dinner or trips into Split you need to plan accordingly and early for an Uber, a 9km ride took us one hour one day and was awful,
- if planning on never leaving the hotel then it is fine however not many other food options around
- parking was free however very tight and hard to move around or even get a spot. Seems that many people just park here for the beach who aren’t staying at the hotel, they should consider having the arm to the lot down with a key card for hotel guests only for use
Overall, once upgraded our experience was better however if we didn’t have that option or experience in split would have been absolutely awful. gala annex building should really be listed as a separate hotel which would be merely 2 stars if that. It was very deceptive that it fell under the san Antonio’s 4 star rating.
It was a HORRIBLE middle section to our honeymoon. Would never recommend.
**to note we did ask the front desk for help and suggestions as to how to improve our stay and they said “this is what you booked and is your problem** they did not provide free upgrade or anything!!!

Bad Hotel. The aircondition were not working aircondition. The reception told us in the evening that we would get a refund checking out in the morning. I asked them to write this down so the information is known for the reception staff. Next morning, not any information is given. No refund is providef! Bad excuses! Stay away from this hotel which is overpriced and the service is beyond acceptable!

My wife and I stayed here for 2 weeks B&B. We booked a classic room in the galaxy annex right behind the hotel. Requested an upper floor with partial seaview. Was delighted when we got corner room on the third floor with large glass balcony with seaviews in both directions complete with sun bed and two ratton chairs and table. Inside the room was a comfortable double bed ( 2 singles together) and seperate setee that would convert into a bed. Large shower toilet room . Flat screen TV . Free safe. Fixed hair dryer in shower room. A small fridge. Room was clean and comfortable. There is a lift to all floors as well as staircase. The entrance to the Galaxy is a card operated security door.On top floor of hotel is an indoor swimming pool with great views, also gym and saunda and massage. Breakfast is buffet in main hotel with beautiful views across the sea, you can sit inside or outside under cover or on the beach. Breakfast coffee machines, toaster, cereal, nuts, fruit, eggs scrambled, fried, boiled. Meats ,cheeses and many more foods. Clean area and well serviced. Up to 1030am.The hotel is in a great position right on the beach and it as its own bar and restaurant, also other bars etc along the beach in both directions. Opposite hotel is the bus stops into Split bus no 60 runs approx every 30 mins cost 2.5 euro and in opposite direction no 60 approx every 30 mins to Omis cost 3 euro. The ladies on reception were also very helpful. The reception area was very comfortable and relaxing while waiting for pick up back to airport. If ever returning to Podstrana would book this hotel.

We stayed in the Annex and the accommodation was supposed to be four star. This is possibly the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The rooms were tatty and unsafe. The door to the Annex did not close properly and the safes in the rooms could be lifted out of the cupboards and walked away with. The views out of the windows were of Overgrown lawns covered in litter and broken furniture. The whole Annex stunk of drains. The lampshades were broken in my room, the wallpaper was peeling off, and there were a hole in the floor in the shower room. The alleged minibar consisted of a small fridge with nothing in it.
If you are planning to travel to split. This is not a good location. Pastrana has nothing there except hotels with expensive substandard restaurants. The bus ride into split in heavy traffic.is very long. I would not Recommend this location or this hotel for anyone.

Strap in, people, this will not be brief.
When searching for a hotel in Split that contained both a pool and reasonable access to the sea, I found very few options, even at mid range prices. The images on hotels.com of Hotel San Antonio were promising. Sadly, the hotel didn’t quite live up to them.
We booked a “deluxe sea facing room with balcony” but when we checked in, they put us in room 42, which doesn’t have a balcony. It did have panoramic views across the beaches, so in that sense it was an upgrade. However, in the course of our stay we glanced into other rooms in that block, and they were more recently decorated and quite modern, with warm tones. Our room was clinical white and black and grey, and felt quite 2004. The curtains were badly fitted, and the bedside light would not turn off at all. We ended up taking the bulb out. The air conditioning unit rattled so loudly that we had to fashion a repair with some bunched-up tissue paper.
The only shower is over the bath, and the shower head wouldn’t stay at the top of the pole (kept sliding down to shoulder height). We complained two days running but nothing happened so we strapped a waterproof plaster around the top of the pole to stop it sliding down. In the end, maintenance did visit and simply put more tape around our plaster rather than just tightening the screw.
The bathroom door (like most others around the hotel) had no lock, other than a key lock, with no key provided.
The tv didn’t get any internet signal, therefore there was no tv at all. They fixed that after two/three days.
On to breakfast … the restaurant serves a buffet breakfast but very poorly done. Not only was the orange juice not freshly squeezed, it wasn’t even out of a carton. It was orange squash (cordial). The hot food options were exactly the same all six mornings. Scrambled eggs, fried eggs, anaemic undercooked bacon, and some roasted veg. Small pancakes and soft small waffles. There was a mixed fruit salad which was decent some days, and other days was just grapes and watermelon.
The jams were great, as were the warm
mini croissants. Coffee was out of machines and very average.
For what we paid per night (£260), I deeply resented paying the hotel an extra €13 a day for one umbrella to use on the hotel’s private beach. It just leaves a bad taste.
On the positive side, the beach area was good and the water was incredibly clear. The sun loungers were comfortable.
Finally, the hotel is situated in Podstrana, so be aware that it takes ages to get in and out of Split because that coastal road is insanely busy, at all times of the day, it seems. What should be a 15 min drive was often 35-40 mins. Uber and Bolt drivers are not keen to pick people up from Podstrana for that reason. We recommend getting in the cab when it does arrive and immediately offering to pay the driver in cash instead. 😏

Very rude staff especially the grey haired guy in the denim shorts ,if your English avoid this place as they seem to dislike English people. Hotel ok but rip you off ,avoid if you want to eat hardly anything as two restaurants to choose from nothing else around , worst holiday I’ve had in years .

Amazing location, facility. Free sunbeds and an amazing staff. The room was huge for the four of us and located in the annex so very quiet. Breakfast was luxurious. An overall paradisiacal experience.
