Stayed for one night when on business in the area. Bob was an excellent host, from running out with an umbrella when we arrived on a rainy evening, to recommending local places to eat. Our room was clean and stylish and our breakfast the best we've had in a long time, particularly the fruit salad and full English. Would definitely...

Fascinating old building, beautifully and tastefully decorated throughout. Only ever met the gentleman of the house who was very pleasant. We had the twin room at the top of the house, wonderfully quirky room, good wifi and more 'useful things' for guests than I think I've ever seen, from sewing kit, to shoe cleaners to medical kits, to toothbrushes to...

Stayed here for a night on our cycling holiday. Just the luxury we needed after a day in the saddle! The owner was very welcoming and even put a cover over our bikes to keep them dry. Our room was at the top of a narrow winding staircase. It was spacious and spotlessly clean, the bathroom had a good shower...

Really liked the room here in the roof. We followed some winding, narrow staircases round various bends to reach our room. Shame we weren't given a key for it though. Breakfast was unusual in that all guests were presented with the most delicious fresh fruit salad ever. The owner was very keen to tell us about the history of the...

We stayed for one night, after having brought my sister home from a stay with us in Devon. We had a warm welcome and were shown to our room in this grade 2 listed building. What a fantastic room with many of the owners' own ornaments, wooden window shutters, an orchid by the bedside and beautifully appointed bedding. The bathroom...

We stayed one Saturday night to attend a party in the town. Easy to find and off road parking. Room was immaculately clean with everything you need. I even used the sewing kit as I realised my new trousers were too long! Lovely powerful shower. I didn't find a hairdryer but I had taken my own so that wasn't a...

This was a great half way stop on business between Cambridge and Lincolnshire. In terms of cleanliness in hotels and B+B's I would use 5 categories; awful, not brilliant, average, good and spotless. This takes that top notch spot!! Lovely big bedroom and gorgeous bathroom with high pressure shower and very attractive decoration and ornaments.. Very welcoming host and a...

We stayed here for one night whilst visiting friends in the area. We had a great welcome from the owners and the whole place was am extremely high standard. The large hotels could learn from this place. The breakfast was the best ever. The fruit salad had over 15 varieties and very healthy. The actual full English was one of...

We stayed for a couple of nights while we were moving into a new house in Downham Market. The room was first rate, far superior to a so-called first class room we had in a hotel in Amsterdam. The en-suite was very stylish and the power shower lived up to its name. The breakfast set us up for the rest...
