We had a fabulous experience here! It's a beautiful property with direct views of the Torres, (towers). Our last morning there we had coffee in our villa and watched the sun come up on the Torres. Don't miss the sunrises! Speaking of sunrises, a big thanks goes out to Antonia, our guide. When we got there she sat down with us to explore what experience we wanted. I told her it was photographs and the best time for them was sunrise and sunset, not in the middle of the day... With a smile on her face, there we were, off in her 4x4 at 5:30 in the morning to be at the perfect spot for the sun to rise. Thanks Antonia! The service was very personal and helpful and everyone knew our name. It was obvious that they have honed the guest experience to perfection. I'm so sorry that we were so engrossed in experience that I neglected to get the names of all those who were so kind and made this a lifetime experience. Christian the manager was a wonderful host and the assistant manager (my bad, can't remember her name), was a delightful woman who took the time to sit with us and relate stories of the land and history of the area. The two bartenders, (whoops, sorry... these guys are definitely mixologists!), deserve an award! The drink of the day was always a treat and they could put together any drink you wished with panache. Personally, I pretty much stuck with the excellent Chilean wines curated my the Sommelier, Rommy. The food was excellent and, well, imaginative. The chef was very creative and we had some unusual paring of flavors, most of which I was delighted with. Although... there were a couple, like the bacon ice cream I'm still not quite sure of... LOL Thanks to everyone at the Awasi Patagonia! You deserve even more than 5 big stars!…
Staying at Awasi Patagonia was one of the most memorable experiences that my husband and I have ever had. The setting was majestic, the food was exquisite, the people were kind and sincere, and the service was impeccable. We absolutely loved Patagonia--it is a wild land of sweeping pampas and craggy mountains with hanging glaciers and pristine waterfalls. We'll definitely return!
Sadly, our experience at Awasi Patagonia was very disappointing. On our second day at the lodge we were extremely surprised to learn that the puma conservation project featured so prominently on the website--and the reason we chose to stay at Awasi in Patagonia--was no longer in operation. To say that I was surprised would be an understatement. I work on behalf of animal-related NGOs and my husband is a conservation photographer, so this type of commitment to conservation is extremely important to us. Prior to booking, I specifically discussed our interest in learning more about and experiencing Awasi's work on behalf of pumas. Honestly, I felt duped. I am shocked that Awasi would have information on their website that was simply not true. I am equally disheartened that the staff were in the unfortunate position of relaying this reality to us. I felt particularly sad for the manager who used to work on the project and had to apologize for the situation (which, to his credit, he did profusely). As a guest at a property at this--or really any--price point, I would expect better in terms of honesty and transparency. And in terms of customer service, I would have expected someone from the Awasi corporate management team to have reached out to me specifically about this issue. Although not as upsetting as the situation with the puma conservation, we were also disappointed by the quality of the food and service at dinner. I was truly looking forward to dinners at Awasi after having amazing food at Awasi Iguazu a few years ago. But, sadly, two of the four nights I only ate a small portion of the entrees because they were just not very palatable. And, while the food was served promptly, it seemed that we were consistently having to ask more than once and wait quite some time for a glass of wine or a beer. Together, it made for an unpleasant dining experience. No doubt the location is amazing and the property is beautiful. Patagonia has so much to offer, but the portrayal of Awasi Patagonia on the website is not what we experienced--painful as it is to write those words. …
Superb accomodation and hospitality aligned to everything you might expect from Relais et Chateaux. Nothing is too much trouble to the crew who have obviously been trained and schooled in the best manner of fine hospitality. Every single one. On arrival we were greeted in the main building by the Manager and entire hospitality crew, all standing in welcome. The table and dining service is impeccable, beyond most expectations, The food, wine and cocktails superlative in every way. for example, the sommelier gave clear descriptions of wines by the glass, being genuine, informative and warm, without fail. Same for the table crew who were informative and love their jobs. All so difficult in a remote location where seasonal work exists. We loved our guide who was knowledgable, patient and responsive on our hikes and adventures and make us feel welcome every single time we connected on an adventure. The management have a lot to answer for here. They're obviously part of an organisation that understand the holistic complexities of a remote location and it just works every single time. This provider is not inexpensive but we felt we had fantastic value time and time again. On the day of our departure we were driving toward the exit and a magical rainbow appeared in front of us, our guide instinctively knowing what a fantastic photo op and farewell it was to to Awasi. …
My husband and I really enjoyed our time at Awasi. We chose this eco friendly venue to rest after completing the "W" trek. We were treated to excellent cuisine and wine pairings especially for us(we do not consume meat). We were able to hike in a place where no tourists venture with our guide,it was amazing. Stay at Awasi for the best of Patagonia!
An absolute dream from start to finish, we recommend Awasi Patagonia without hesitation! My wife and I spent 4 nights at Awasi Patagonia, and it was truly a one-of-a-kind experience. The property more than exceeded our expectations, and the staff all made us feel at home. Special shout out to Christobal, who went above and beyond to make our stay truly perfect. We loved getting to know him and the other staff members, but he especially provided exceptional service and standout hospitality. Pros: * When looking at various competitor properties, we noticed the obvious “pro” of Awasi is the personalized guide experience. It truly makes a difference in your vacation, because you get to set the schedule, and you aren’t beholden to the agendas of hotel management or other travelers! All the guides at Awasi are fantastic. We LOVED our guide Danilo! He was incredibly knowledgeable, gave us great advice on activities, and allowed us to be flexible when we wanted to change the start time or visit a different spot. He was also an amazing photographer (and offered to carry our camera on a few hikes). Most importantly, he was fun to be around which made our excursions that much more enjoyable. * Location, location, location. I was a little nervous because I had read reviews about the location being slightly further and having to drive off-road a bit. Forget that! Awasi’s location is perfect! For starters, it’s the only property that provides the guest with a direct view of the towers. The drives were not too long or arduous (sometimes 30 minutes, other times 1 hour) - particularly because they’re beautiful, scenic drives. Also our guide Danilo was a great driver - my wife typically gets quite car sick and was a little nervous about this one aspect but she never had an issue. The property is stunning, all the villas provide gorgeous views, and even when it was cloudy in the park, we found that the location of the awasi property provided much sunnier conditions. Truly spectacular! * The staff. We’ve already mentioned Christobal and Danilo, but every staff member was warm and hospitable. They also generally take an effort to get to you know you during your stay. for a property with 14 villas, you would expect them to learn your names, but the staff here also took the time to learn more about us and our preferences. For example, when we’d come to the bar, they’d ask if my wife would like another of her favorite cocktail, or how we enjoyed our day with Danilo (showing they also knew which guests were paired with which guide). We wanted to get massages on my birthday, which also happened to be the day after our long hike to the towers, but the on-site massage therapist was fully booked… Christobal and the other staff members brought a second massage therapist in from the nearby town of Puerto Natales to ensure we were able to have massages as well (Beatrice, and she was also great!). These are just examples of the “above and beyond” service we experienced. Thank you also to the incredible wait staff: Antonieta (who served us every evening with a smile and great banter), Annie, Mat and Layla were always a pleasure to interact with. *Food and Wine: As one would expect for a Relais & Chateau property. Thank you to Christian, head of food and beverage for making everything truly perfect! Special standouts are the wine pairings and cocktails. Rommy, the head sommelier, was fantastic. We loved getting to know him and he served us some excellent Chilean wines, often from smaller more boutique producers and often with at least one or two with more unique flavor profiles. Excellent! Plus, Rommy was very friendly and personable. And the bartenders, Diego and Natalia, are out of this world talented. They created some of the best cocktails we have ever tasted, and you can tell each day with the new and inventive welcome drink that they put serious time and effort into creating something delicious. Also such a blast to chat with and be around! We loved getting to know them while enjoying the wonderful food, wine and cocktails. Cons: Can’t think of one! If you are considering a stay in Patagonia, go with Awasi and you won’t be disappointed.…
We were lucky enough to stay in all three of the Awasi properties . Each is unique . Splendid settings, beautiful design and exceptional comfort. However, the thing which differentiates from any other 5 star property is the level of individual care and attention each guest receives from the design of a personalized itinerary to noting preferences for food and drink . No detail was missed and so it felt like the whole hotel was geared to us. Returning from dinner on a cold evening to find a wonderful fire had been lit. Leaving early one morning and a packed breakfast was waiting The food and wine pairings were exceptional but our guide even managed to cook lunch in a remote spot miles from anywhere from the back of the 4x4. Thank you especially to our guide Miguel I would so love to come again…
This is an all inclusive resort in Chilean Patagonia in the most gorgeous setting. All amenities, food, room, tours, transportation, and guides and other services are included in the price making this a nice convenient way to see the wonderful nature. The guides are with you from pickup at airport to return. They are very knowledgeable and create a personalized tour with you. The rooms are wonderful and the staff caters to your every wish. It’s a great experience. The only problem is that the food offerings were somewhat thin. Not a lot of choices and not a lot offered at each meal. This was disappointing as this is a Relaix and Chateau. Otherwise a good stay.
We stayed six nights and fell in love with the “Chilean Way” , this fabulous hotel and the wonderful people who looked after us so amazingly. Jose our guide was great and showed us so many beautiful places, introduced us to some very kind people and kept us safe amongst this rugged , ever changing environment. Back at the hotel the welcome was always warm , the staff looked after us fantastically, nothing too much trouble and the food and drinks were consistently outstanding…..we said we weren’t looking forward to leaving and packing so they delivered a bottle of champagne to enjoy whilst packing, typical of the service provided by everyone. Thank you to everyone at Awasi a place we will always hold dear.
Awasi Patagonia is a magical place. We were blown away by the level of service and attention to detail. This trip was rescheduled due to the pandemic and Awasi did not disappoint during our much anticipated stay. Our experience was everything we were expecting and more. Excursions: We were traveling with another couple so we had 2 guides between the 2 reservations. Pablo and Anton were exceptional! Both went above and beyond to ensure we had a great experience. Our excursions included 2 separate day hikes to the Base of the Towers & French Valley ( Base of the Towers is a difficult, all day hike) our group's age range-early to late thirties, relatively fit, and we were all a little beat up afterwards but it was totally worth it! Last excursion was to Baguales for horseback riding. Baguales is a privately owned area of land which Awasi has exclusive access. This excursion turned out to be a group favorite. The land is other worldly, do not miss this experience it's a must! Awasi is located outside of Torres del Paine but the drives to get to the excursions are not bad and to come back to the beautiful Awasi property negates any travel time in the car. Food: The gastronomic experience is one of the best we've had during our travels. Julietta was incredible at walking us through the menu every night and explaining all of the different dishes. You must try everything and be adventurous. The Chef does not disappoint and mixes all kinds of interesting flavors that are native to Patagonia. Diego is one of the mixologist and his cocktails rival any drinks I've had at top notch places. He also designs drinks using local ingredients, all of which are next level! Accommodations: Rooms are large and very comfortable. On our first day, we were asked if we wanted any additional items placed for us at the mini bar. These items were re-stocked every day. Bathrooms are large, soaking tub is great after long hikes. The views are outstanding. Everyone at Awasi was kind and you can just sense the overall welcoming atmosphere from the moment you are picked up and all the way to the end. Service is consistent. We had a long travel day so were sent off to the airport with packed lunches (just as an example). We can only hope to have another opportunity to visit and stay at Awasi. We would return without hesitation! We love Awasi Patagonia, forever in our hearts and most cherished memories! …
