I visited the hotel with my family and we booked a mini suite. The Hotel is an old building with a lot of "feeling". The reception has a stuffed Elk welcoming you and there are plenty of "Chesterfield" sofas and chairs. Nice when you get back from a day in the slopes. The suite was two rooms and a bathroom.... Great old fashioned but charming hotel. After reading reviews on here I was hesitant to book a room, but did so anyway. The room we had was newly renovated, no carpet (big thumbs up for that), nice modern furniture and a great spacious bathroom. I was very impressed. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Would definitely book there again.

Stayed in a mini suite. It was smaller than we thought but big enough for our one night stay. Beds were comfortable with lots of pillows! Bathroom was clean but could maybe need some new finish. Breakfast was excellent with 4 different types of bread. Cheese, ham, salami, vegetables, youghurt, müsli, fresh fruit salad, booked egg, juice, coffee and tea.... More

The reason for the 'average' review is the rooms. They are a little sketchy for the price and clearly haven't had much done to them for a few years - a decent size though and good drying facilities for ski gear. The front of the hotel is great, quite atmospheric. The breakfast is fine, nothing to right home about and... More

Many thanks for your review. We really appreciate it as we always thrive to be better. Since taking over the hotel for two years ago we have refurbished many of the rooms in the hotel already to keep to top standards and the last remaining rooms will be refurbished this summer. This means that all the hotel rooms will be... More

This was our third skiing trip to Åre, Sweden. Hotel Diplomat Åregarden (Now Hotel Åregarden) is under new ownership. It was previously owned by the owners of Hotel Diplomat Stockholm. The Hotel also manages luxury apartment rentals on behalf of owners. We have booked these luxury apartment rentals thrice. The apartments are located a 2 minute walk from the main... More

The Aregarden is situated right in the centre of the village, approx 200m from the ski lifts. Rooms are spacious and well comfortably furnished and well equipped with drying cabinets and kettles. Although we only had breakfast there the food was good and plentiful. The spa in the basement was a real bonus with a goos sized pool and sauna.... More

Ideal location right in the centre of Are, the hotels main areas are well maintained and attractive but the rooms are a bit tired and do need updating. We went for a short ski break between Christmas and New Year and were pleased that we had picked this hotel over the other 2 potential choices of the Toft and Copperhills... More

We spent a night here in august. The first room was in an old part of the hotel, and didnt meet the standard the website promised. We asked for a new room, and the deskclerk was very helpful. The swimmingpool is down in the spadepartment, and it wasnt very adjusted to guests using this. There were no bathrobes, extra towels... More

We stayed at the hotel for a night in August 2013. Upon arrival, the woman behind the desk was very service minded. We came with a car and were given free parking outside of the hotel. The location of the hotel is really, really god, especially if you're in Åre during the summer where skiing obviously isn't the priority. It's... More

Charming hotel with very good hotel facilities but only OK rooms. Breakfast, lunch and dinner were surprisingly good. Very nice lobby area with tables and bar and cheerful and big living room. In the basement quite a big and decent discotheque. Also in the basement a spa and ski storage room. The rooms were average, with typical no frills scandinavian... More
