Stayed in a quadruple Japanese style room. Sorry to say this but the toilet smelled most pleasant. Doesn't have a clean feeling. I dreaded to go to the toilet during my stay. You have to bring your own towels from the hotel room to the onsen, which I didn't know at first because the last hotel I was at provided... More

The hotel is fronting the beautiful lake Toya! It is just next to the lake and you can simple go downstairs for a stroll by it! Very beautiful and relaxing stay for my family. The room is big and spacious. Buffet dinner was good! Seafood is so fresh here in Hokkaido! The hotspring is beautiful and relaxing.

Only plus about this hotel is the lake view and outdoor onsen overlooking the lake. The staff spoke sufficient English but the hotel overall is not English friendly- not even signs for female/male toilets!! And the manual inside the rooms were all in Japanese. When we arrived, a lovely female staff helped unload our luggage from the car and brought... More

Wanted to experience a ryokyan accommodation during this trip to Hokkaido complete with onsen bath. The hotel is by a breathtaking lake. I asked for its traditional room with tatami and futon to complete the ambience. I was only thinking of doing the onsen for the experience. To be completely nude in a public bath was surreal since I've not... More

One night stay here, unfortunately we were assigned to a room with city view rather than lake view. Good location, near 7-Eleven and some shops. The best is for Onsen with large area and many bath tubs and views looking to the lake and that fuji-like mountain. The room we got has no proper bed so 1 star is deducted.

I stayed here for one night with my family as part of a package tour. The rooms are pretty old, and have a lingering stale cigarette smoke smell. Air fresheners are provided in the wardrobe if needed. There is a firework display over the lake every evening, which is pretty nice. There are not many shops in the area, a... More

This hotel was the most expensive hotel we stayed during our 10 days trip. But the least satisfied 1. The room was spacious, we op for a room facing the wonderful lake. the view was great. upon arrival there was a huge crowd of 4 buses china tourist. The room toilet was old and toilet bowl with stains... We were... More

I discovered that another hotel I stayed in at Sounkyo Gorge (Choyotei) is a sister hotel of Kohantei, and so it is inevitable for me to draw comparisons between the two. Firstly, Kohantei's onsen overlook the lake, and there are outdoor awesome which offers quite spectecular views of the scenery. The male/female onsens rotate, so do try going at different... More

Giving 3 stars only because they have the best outdoor onsen among the 3 onsen hotels we have stayed on this trip. Outdoor onsen overlooks the lake , view is nice and a good spot to laze away. Dinner was included in our stay, normal buffet food. There was a firework display at 8.45pm during the night we were there... More

The hotel was booked by our tour guide. He choose a western style room. These seem to be rather bad rooms, since it was obvious on the fire evacuation plan that they are the smallest kind. And instead of lake view, they offer a perspective on a parking place and neighboring hotels. Well, also a small room can be nice.... More
