I’m traveling alone. Before I arrive, I read the reviews here and was quite worried . I’m staying for 2 nights from 04-06 Nov. Booked directly from their Japanese website for the cheapest Mountain View room with 2 meals, only JPY7,200 per night including taxes. It’s quite a good

This is an old hotel with good hot springs and great view of Lake Toya. Bathroom attached to our room was not functioning when we arrived, but they took care of it. They told problems due to lower water pressure at higher floors. Good location to Showa shinzan and volcano Mt.

How do I book reservations for private onsen?
We got lucky as walk-ins. I'd suggest emailing and or calling. If you're staying at another Japan hotel, have the concierge make the call for you. That's about all I can suggest. We just happened to catch this place with an opening at a busy time of year (Golden Week).

How to book the private onsen?
How can get to the hotel from New chitose airport to the hotel?
I don't know anything about coach travel from Chitose to Lake Toya. We traveled by train from Sapporo (a couple stops past Chitose if traveling from Toya). Took the train to Toya, then a local bus to Lake Toya resort area. It's a short walk from the bus station. The only thing to keep in mind is that there are only about a half dozen trains per day on that route, so do it with reservations. The short bus ride from Toya to Lake Toya was not a problem. Train schedules can be found on line. Toya bus schedules can also be found on line. The trains that run on the Sapporo-Toya-Hakodate route stop in Chitose town. You'll have to get a local train or other transportation to/from the airport.

There is no free shuttle from Sapporo to Toya kanko hotel. But the hotel does provide shuttle from Toya JR station to the hotel. It starts around 1400hrs. Do email the hotel to double check :) From Sapporo , the easiest and most direct way is to take the JR train to Toya JR station. From Toya JR station , if u arrive earlier than 1400hrs, there is a bus that takes u to Lake Toya bus terminal. For abt 300yen :) . The hotel is a short walk from the Lake Toya bus terminal . There is actually a Donan bus that travel between Sapporo and Toya bus terminal . Though it’s much cheaper than JR train ,this bus has limited timing schedule. U must call Donan bus to make reservations also. No emails. Hope this helps :)
