Good location. Great view - Every room faces the lake Toya. Great service from a staff who is a Taiwanist. Value for money as my hotel package covers breakfast and dinner. Staff speak little English but sufficient enough to go by. Will definitely visit again.

We have the Tatami room and it's quite comfy. The dinner was great. We've a group of 7 and the hotel is nice to provide us a private room for our dinner. The staff is very patience and the service was quite good. We went for the hot stone spa and was quite great. My mum tried the 1st time... More

Had booked a Tatami room, it was clean and the Onsen was also ok - in general we would say the hotel "had its best time". Food was matching the hotel impression - luckily we knew what we had to expect. Fireworks in the night had been poor but as they do it every night....

Please give this hotel a miss. Food was bad, state of the bathroom old and tired with the ceiling looking like it would fall on you, the gratings filled with centuries old dust and grime. What capped it all was the Japanese woman staff who literally gurgled and screamed as she lunged at my daughter screaming her head off for... More

Location of the hotel is good, with every room overlooking Lake Toya. There is a convenient store right across the road which satisfies late night snacking. It was a great experience sleeping on tatami, with futon neatly prepared when we arrived. Most memorable event was the dinner at banquet room that occupied all 13 of us, equipped with karaoke sound... More

We got a room as requested on the 6th floor, the view overlooking the lake was GORGEOUS! There's firework at night, every night during the summer from a boat, and starts from this hotel's end, and gradually shift to the other side of the lake (you could still see it at an angle). We didn't encounter any unfriendly/rude service, overall... More

Toya Kanko Hotel is a pretty old hotel but it has been fairly well maintained. Balancing this, the staff makes it a point to welcome the guests. In our case, the staff welcomed us from the car park, all the way to the reception desk and personally chaperoned us up to our room. Our stay in Toya Kanko Hotel was... More

Old hotel with lousy breakfast. Restaurant staff seemed extremely careless or inept - one made the pot cover fly off (the pot contains boiling water over a burner) while removing it. One another dropped many bowls near the rice cooker. Front desk elderly man was the worst! He was impatient, unfriendly and served with a perpetual frown. Front desk (non-bespectacled)young... More

The location is ok. The room we stayed has a very nice view. This is the very first time I stayed at the half ryokan hotel and the staff did not tell us anything at all! They send us to the room with the luggages and that's it! The hotel had not been introduced. Where is the onsen? Where do... More
