The hotel isn't the nicest of the bunch, but is faces the lake, is affordable, very close both to the ferry & the bus station. The onsen is simple but nice, with 3 indoors baths, 1 outdoor and 1 sauna. The futon are comfortable. It should be mentionned that is an authentic ryokan. Moreover, the staff is nice.

The hotel is pretty old but the staffs are very nice. The view from my window was great as it's overlooking the lake. The price is reasonable but I didn't realize I got no shower in my room when I got there. But I don't mind using the public shower/onsen anyways. The room was kind of big but the only...

I have been travelling across Asia for about a year with my family and if you look at my profile you will see that I generally don't give terrible reviews.  But in all of my travels in India, Thailand, Myanmar, Laos, Vietnam and South Korea, this is the worst value for money I have seen.  Shocking!! We paid over $200...

Although the hotel was old, it has all necessity and with a great view facing the lake. It is situated vey close to the bus terminal too, just about 3 minutes walk away. Very helpful and polite staffs.

It is the place that's only good for one night stay. Excellent dinner and breakfast. But hot spring bathrooms were no good at all. The room is very tiny and kind of smelly. A good location right in front of the lake. My crew and I watched fireworks in our room!

Nothing grand. It's a very old hotel with unhelpful staff. Walls are thin and I was waken up at 6 am by the constant noises from the corridor. Canned instrumental music is played throughout the public area hotel and I can hear them in my room which is not good. Staff refused to store my luggage for a few hours....

There's nothing grand about this hotel. It's at best functional, at worst downright terrible - and it wasn't exactly cheap either. I'll begin with the positive points. First, contrary to some of the other reviews here, I found the staff perfectly friendly - helpful when I needed them to be, and legitimately pleasant to work with. Also, contrary to some...

Very good location. the hotel locates just only 3 minute walk from Toyakoonsen bus terminal. Very friendly and helpful staff. We had very good dinner and breakfast. Nice Onsen and not so crowded. The only downside is that the hotel itself is a little bit old and need some renovation.

This is our third time sleeping in ryokan style hotel.. Yet it is surprising as the hotel is different from the pictures shown. Lobby is small and packed. The rooms are really small. The onsen/shared bathroom also small. We did not expect that our room do not have attached bathroom. Basically you have to shower in the big bathroom-onsen. Plus...

Grand toya is very near to toya onsen bus terminal. Just around 100 meter. If you are come by train, stop at toya station. From here you take bus with direction to toya onsen bus terminal. This hotel is rather old already. We stay in Japanese room. Very old fashion hotel, no bed inside the room before 7 pm. After...
