A truly wonderful experience staying here. After 10 days travelling around Cuba, to spend a few days here and be looked after so we’ll is a real treat. The complex is stunning, 3 great beaches (so always one without wind), 2 pools and if you’re into yoga (which I am) then

A fairly consistent and positive experience as identified in many of the previous reviews. A few observations: - an older than expected crowd. My wife and I are 50 and would have brought down the median age. Not a complaint, but not the norm from our previous AI Caribbean

The cons - the reason it’s not a 5 star - very limited vegetarian food options. To be fair this was true of all 4 places we visited in Cuba so not limited to this hotel - a bit haphazard with service level and entertainment timetable - WiFi not available throughout the room,

We had an excellent and very chill time at Melia Buenavista. The staff were attentive, fun and friendly. Our room was well situated for an ocean view (811) close to the SPA/gym. We recommend accessing the YHI for a Cuban rum massage and daily sauna detox. Food was very good,

I have been to this place many times and I have never had any extra charges. Of course, if you want better wine - there is a cost or a spa service (there is a cost). When in doubt, just need to ask.

The resort is only 100 rooms, 3 beaches and 2 pools never busy but always very welcoming. The bar folks will bring you drinks (Lester is terrific) while you are in the pool and they are all awesome, the beaches are spectacular and the snorkeling is amazing in the middle beach. Lots of pool action with water aerobics, volleyball, rum and wine tasting by the pool and of course Pitti makes great thin crust pizza in the wood burning oven by the main pool. If you like a quiet resort, not feeling crowded at beach and pool, this place is number one, going in May, 10 th time. If you want a party resort, then likely you will find it too quiet.

No, but I have been their many times (about 8 times) so maybe I can answer some of your questions.

When we were there this year at Christmas it was very quiet, in part I suspect because of the increased cost. At one point there were 24 guests in the entire resort, which is awful quiet even for me! However, we certainly enjoyed ourselves and found it extremely relaxing. I would recommend it.
