We arrived at Hugging Clouds with 11 children and 3 adults ready to climb Adams Peak with little knowledge of what lay ahead. Madushan the owner gave us all the information and assistance we required for making the trek less stressful for us oldies and more enjoyable for our children. The accommodation was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The food tastey fresh and good. We were lucky that we were the only guests at this time as our children were rather raucous with excitement and rested very little. The lounge areas were perfect for them to enjoy catching up and assisted in preparing them that night for the walk up. We felt safe at all times and well cared for. The hotel itself is so close to the start of the walk as well as many shops etc to help you stock up for your walk. Thanks to all the staff for their assistance and patience during our stay.... couldn't recommend this place more highly and also to Madushan who I would suggest would be a fantastic driver/tour guide should you require one.

Although we had only booked 1 night, we ended up staying at Hugging Clouds for 2 nights in a family room and a single room. I didn’t get a chance to see the single room but the family room was clean and spacious with 2 double beds. The bathroom was very clean too. The lobby/eating area was bright and spacious with plenty of windows with a view. We climbed Sri Pada the first night and rested and slept at the hotel the next night. What made our stay enjoyable was Madhu. He went out of his way by allowing me to use his kitchen to cook the special ‘kiripindu’ that I wanted to take to offer to the Lord Buddha. He even helped with this. Furthermore, he was full of fascinating information and we enjoyed simply chatting with him. He was always willing to make us a coffee and prepare breakfast and dinner at short notice. I would definitely recommend Hugging Clouds and if we plan to climb Siri Pada again I will without a doubt stay here again.

We had a fantastic stay at Hugging Clouds for 2 nights to hike Adam’s peak. The rooms are spotlessly clean, very tastefully decorated and a great breakfast is provided. We ate in the restaurant both nights of our stay and the food was tasty, and very reasonably priced. Madu, the owner, spoke excellent English and was very helpful in organising transport both to and from Hugging Clouds. On the afternoon after the climb, Madu took us to visit a local waterfall which was well worth the trip - lovely scenery and the chance to swim at the waterfall which was very refreshing for our tired legs! Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hugging Clouds and would highly recommend a stay here.

The staff direct you since they have better experience. What to carry, where to go, what time to start, and even the exact height to the top. Total height of the Adams peak from the sea level = 2243 meters. Hugging clouds Nallathanniya is at = 1272 meters. From there the hike to Top of Adams peak = 971 meters. No charge for the hike. No entrance fee. Season for the locals, starts from Full moon day of December to full moon day of May. Lots of restaurants, coffee shops and even the path is lightened during that period. If you travel off season then A Flashlight, Some Snacks, Cookies, Biscuits, Water, Rain jackets, Thicker clothes would be very helpful.
