We stayed in room 10 and 14. The bedroom had many flies and the toilet wasn't cleaned properly. The bathroom door did not close. A lot of force was needed to shut and open the door. The wifi also did not connect on our phones and when it did, nothing loaded. The bedroom also had an odd smell to it and the washrooms are really small. One of the bedrooms even had the sink outside of the washroom due to how small it was. Ruth also had a rude attitude. We had prereseved our stay and when we came in she accused me of lying about the number of guests staying when I had specifically told her there were 8 of us. Ruth did not show much kindness and had definitely forgotten about the saying ''the customer is always right.''
This Inn was wonderful. Very clean, great room and nice grounds. Only a short drive to pretty much everywhere in the area. Staff was wonderful. Restaurant and pool were not open due to COVID. Would recommend this place for sure.
We had a similar experience to the last reviewer. Not sure where the rooms advertised online were but our room didn't look anything like the ones in photos online. We kept wishing the days would end quicker so we could check out as soon as possible. When we first entered, we were hit with a very musty mouldy smell that we couldn't air out despite having the window constantly open. Turning on the AC made the room even mustier. We walked into 2 dead flies in the room and for some reason more flies and bugs kept emerging (we couldn't figure out from where). The porch was full of webs and trapped bugs so we avoided walking under it. All this made us paranoid so we Lysolled everything and didn't use the blankets and avoided the room as much as possible. Our highlight was leaving. Next time we will pay the extra $30 to stay at the bigger motels.…
I can take it that it’s extremely outdated, I can take it that the AC wasn’t even on when we arrived and it was an oven AND when u turned it on it has that “musty smell”, I can take it that the fridge was not plugged in either and my drinks had to stay in my cooler till the next day, fridge had a funky smell too, I can take that when I sat on my toilet it rocked, literally back and forth with hot water in it so my butt got a steam bath, which led to my scalding shower. Obviously plumbing is an issue. I can’t take is it being UNCLEAN in the bathroom. A good size spider web in the corner with bugs next to toilet, spider with web next to shower and 2 more bugs to kill. I had a wet wipe to wipe the counter top cause it looked cloudy, yah, not clean. And if it’s not that clean in bathroom ya gotta think how clean is everywhere else. Ruth is a lovely person. Her motel and customer service is not good. Maybe she’s short on staff. She’s also saying, because of covid, ur getting nothing from me but a bed. No breakfast, no cleaning, no ice, no pool, no games, no customer or motel extras, nothing. I mean I get it but it just felt wrong, like I was putting her out for asking for ice. And then it was oh I forgot to tell u we r not cleaning rooms if u need something ur gonna have to ask for it, u know, b/c of covid. But coming from another motel in Manitoulin Island was night and day. Clean, #1 there, AC when we got there, they cleaned and they had mask n gloves on to do it and they were sanitary about accommodating getting us ice. The minimum really. I mean, with covid here? Just stay and don’t ask me for anything and don’t expect niceties like the AC on in 30 degree weather cause of covid. Very disappointed with this place. Pay the extra $, go somewhere else!…
