Hello st11101, A few things we would like to mention regarding your review of us. When you book a stay at our property through a 3rd party online travel agency you are subject to their terms and conditions. You agree to their terms and conditions when you book with them. This agreement that you made was with the 3rd party online travel agency and not directly with our property. We always recommend guests book directly with us at www.v2vacations.com. Our website cancelation policy is only 10% up to 7 days before your stay. This minor fee helps cover credit card processing costs, commissions, labor, etc, as well it reduces the number of fraudulent bookings we receive. We also feature lower prices when you book direct. We always recommend booking direct with The Forest House B&B! Unfortunately you were also a little misleading with your financials. To clarify: The room you had booked is $251 a night on a long weekend. Even at 3 nights your reservation was much less than the $1000 you mentioned. The "$200" cancelation fee to mentioned was actually much less than that, and would have been even less had you booked direct. Had you booked direct you also would have been able to apply this 10% cancelation fee to a future stay effectively costing you $0. Lastly in your "Room Tip" you recommended staying in "nearby Blue Mountain". This is not recommended. If you plan to visit Tobermory, Fathom Five National Marine Park, Bruce Peninsula National Park that may be a little bit of a drive. 163km and 2hr 11min driving time to be exact. If you require any more clarifications regarding these issues we encourage you to contact the property directly. Safe travels in the future.

First the good things: Chris is a charming host who makes breakfast very entertaining, the property is clean, plenty of parking, rooms are a good size. All of this makes for a reasonable place to stay in Tobermory. There are beautiful walks close by and Chris is happy to offer

Hi Lynn0712. Thanks for taking the time to write this review. Guest feedback one of the key ways we can improve our guest experience. We are happy that you enjoyed breakfast, noticed that we keep the property very clean, and that the rooms were a good size for you. We are always happy to provide guests with suggestions of where to eat, and what to see and do in this amazing little town that we love so much. We are sorry that you did not appreciate our self check in procedure. We are in the process of trying to refine it to make it easier. We switched to self check in this year to allow guests a much larger window of time to arrive at the property, and not feel rushed in case of a delay like bad traffic. If your confirmation note we also offer to meet guests at the property in person if they are able to schedule a time. Had we known we would have been more than happy to meet you in person. Most of our guests have not stayed at a B&B before and typically they enjoy the privacy of a separate exterior entrance to each guest suite. We understand this is not everyones preference, but for most of our guests this is what they prefer. The welcome sheet in the room is not just rules. It contains important information about the property, your stay, meal times, contact phone numbers, ect. We are sorry that it made you feel less than welcome this was not our intention, we will review the sheet and see if we can make any changes to make it more welcoming. You will be happy to learn that all rooms are now equipped with kettles, mugs, tea, ect. for your enjoyment. We stock each room with one water bottle per guest. These can be re-filled with the very clean tap water. We do this to help reduce the amount of single use plastic that we use at the property. Were trying to do our part to help the environment. Thanks for this great feedback! Each room is stocked with 2 bath towels, 2 hand towels, 2 face towels, 1 makeup removal towel, and 1 foot towel. We are more than happy to switch out or provide additional towels at the guests request, but do not do this automatically so we can reduce the impact of excessive laundry on the environment. Also some exciting news. The Forest View Queen Suite has just finished a complete renovation. Soundproofing was added to shared wall, new furniture including a King sized bed, new decor, new electronics and lighting. Check out the new photos on our website. Thanks again for taking the time to write your review. We have made many improvements as a result, so our future guests can have a excellent stay. Safe travels!

We stayed at this B and B when hiking on the Bruce Trail in some of the more difficult to access sites so it was very welcoming to stay overnight in this quiet home and have a good night's rest. It is tucked away from the main part of Tobermory which is lovely and very easy to

Hi ChinookTravel_12 Thanks for taking the time to write this review. We have made some recent changes related to your review to help improve our future guests experience at our property. We stock all rooms with a basic set of towels. Additional or changes of towels are available on request. We have this policy to help reduce the effects of excessive laundry on the environment. While we do not live directly on site all summer, my parent in laws/caretakers do. If there is ever a emergency, or if something small is needed for your room there is always someone around. This year we have added drink stations to each room including a kettle, mugs, tea, etc. Thanks again for taking the time to write this review and rest assured we are taking action to improve our B&B based on your experience.
