That was our first visit to Maldives. And it was a great choice!! Beyond all our expectations!! We were very warmly welcomed on the island and taken to our beautiful villa. We booked a water villa and it was just super!! Very comfortable and the view was spectacular! Spa is really worth trying! I enjoyed it a lot! Thanks to the girls for the massage! They are really professionals. Food at the restaurants was great! Waiters are super friendly and they always greeted us by our names. In general it was a perfect trip! Hopefully we will come again next year!!!

For our 30th anniversary, my wife and I visited Cheval Blanc in the Maldives in February 2020. We have stayed at several luxury resorts over the last 10 years and gave many of them 5 star reviews, but I now have to go back and revise those ratings to 3 or 4 stars, because The Cheval Blanc was far superior to them all. We now have experienced the pinnacle of luxury by which we can judge all others, or shall I say we stayed at the best and don’t know how any other resort can or will ever compare. It was that good! Cheval Blanc Maldives deserves a rating higher than 5 stars!! Below are the details and should answer most general questions… 1) Getting there is quite hard, but definitely worth the time, effort, and expense. We came all the way from New York, a journey of 3 flights and a total of 24 hours door to door. We arrived into Male Airport in the Maldives, passed through customs, retrieved our luggage, and then enjoyed the start of our vacation as Cheval Blanc went into action. They pampered us in their private lounge for 30 minutes until our Cheval Blanc sea plane was loaded with our luggage and ready for take-off to their private island (actually a series of 3 connected islands, plus 2 additional islands accessed only by boat.) Traveling Tips…. • Ask Cheval Blanc to book VIP service at Male Airport. The immigration line was very long, congested, and hot, but the VIP service can help you bypass that all. • Cheval Blanc offers 3 options for the sea plane. We booked the shared private seaplane, which was a Cheval Blanc owned aircraft. The 45 minute sea plane rider was direct to the island without any stops. It was a bit loud, so bring along ear plugs is highly suggested. 2) We stayed in an Island Villa. The resort has 15 island villas (all with private pool and private beach), and about 30 over water villas (all with private pool.) Our villa was quite superb and very large with so many amenities. 4 Large rooms included: Living room, master bedroom, large bath suite with giant tub and sperate shower, and a large walk in clothing closet. 2 small rooms included: kitchen and 2nd bathroom off the pool. The ceilings are very high at about 18 feet, and the living room glass doors can be slid away entirely revealing a 30 foot opening overlooking the 20’ x 40’ infinity edge pool and private beach. The room was very technologically advanced with; motorized sheers, blackout shades (that kept the room really dark), iPad (provided) controls of all the lighting, HVAC, sound systems, tv systems, internet TV, and more. (Their iPad also contained menus for all the restaurants and in room dining, the gym class schedule, and loads of other info.) Cell phone coverage and Wi-Fi (free on the entire island) bandwidth speed was excellent throughout. Our villa also featured an outdoor shower that was great but could have been a little more private, and an outdoor dinning area that was cozy and shaded. Our private pool was beautiful but it was not heated. To us, that was the biggest area for improvement for the resort. The pool was completely in the sun during the day so we could not use it because the UV Rays were too strong and burning, and at night the pool was too cold. Around the pool are plenty of lounges and sofas, and on the beach just steps away are sun beds, a large cantilevered umbrella, and hammock. The privacy factor is not 100%, as during the day you will see 1 or 2 guests walking along the beach and 1 or 2 staff members tending to the grounds. Accommodations Tips…. • For both Island Villas and Over Water Villas, be sure to specify windy or non-windy preference. The ocean side is much windier than the lagoon side. • We stayed in a villa nearest the restaurants and gym which proved quite convenient. The villas farther out require a bicycle ride (bikes are provided at every villa) or staff driven golf cart lift that sometimes would need a 5-minute wait. 3) The gym was fantastic with all the modern equipment in a beautiful large facility over looking the ocean. The on-site trainer helped all guests with the equipment and provided tips for pre and post workout stretches. 4) The Spa is on its own island requiring a 1 minute boat ride, and features its own gorgeous beaches, infinity edge pool, and treatment rooms. 5) The restaurants were impeccable with varied menus catering to every appetite. They have Italian, French, Japanese, and an all-around contemporary venue as well. 6) The beaches are all white delicious smooth sand. The water is crystal clear and protected from heavy waves by jetties that are a few hundred yards out. The fish are abundant but yet the water is easy to traverse without rocks, without jelly fish or other uncomfortable sea creatures. 7) The lagoons and ocean color is turquoise. It’s just an unbelievable picture-perfect sea setting. Its what you see in renderings and illustrations and don’t believe really exist. But its all right there at Cheval Blanc. 8) While my wife and I did not utilize the amenities, Cheval Blanc has on site for use by all guests; jet skis, catamarans, a yacht, fishing boats, diving gear, and of course snorkeling equipment. They are not missing a beat. So the above is all about the accommodations and the island, but the real best part of Cheval Blanc is its staff. The entire Cheval Blanc team was excellent and catered to our every need with a smile and with their utmost dedication and desire to please. My wife and I had so many specific and particular demands, and the entire staff from the general manager, to the butler, to the chef- all went out of their way to make our stay was memorable, enjoyable, and perfect. Each villa is assigned a Majordome (butler). They greet you at the sea plane upon arrival and tend to your every need and whim every single day of your vacation. Our Majordome was Mr Saeed. He was gentle, smart, there when we needed, and left us alone to our privacy when we wanted. The kitchen staff headed by Chef Eric were outstanding. We had difficult dietary requirements, but they came through like champs catering to our every request without hesitation, and with a smile. Their aim to please made our vacation all the more enjoyable. We didn’t feel like difficult customers but rather like treasured guests. The vibe and character of the resort is equivalent to that of the French Riviera in the summer. The guests are well off and come mostly from Europe, Russia, and Asia. We were the only Americans during our stay. We were surprised by the amount of children during the non-holiday week, and the resort is in fact expanding their services for children. All in all, our week long vacation at the Cheval Blanc was perfect in every way. It was expensive, but we did get what we paid for and then some. It’s a trip we will never forget and look forward to experiencing again in the future.

I can't say enough about how fabulous this place it. Every detail is so well thought out and planned. The villas are amazing. Huge, sprawling accommodations with nothing spared-- every amenity you can imagine and even down to two types of robes. Everything in the room is modern and high tech controlled by an ipad. It is beautiful. We liked being in a water villa (#46), but, for those who are a little apprehensive, three nights in a row, it was unusually windy and the house shook. While I wasn't bothered by it, it was a little scary. The service is amazing and the staff are over the top. Laurent, the General Manager, runs a great ship. His managers and staff are great. We felt like we were at home during the entire length of our stay. It became like family. So warm and classy. We actually were teary-eyed when we stepped back on the sea plane. The food is delicious and, in fact, we had one of the best pastas that we ever had and it was made by a Sri Lankan chef. We went on the snorkeling trip, which was also great. A special thank you to Hussain, our butler, who we loved, as well as, Simon, the Activities Director, Ashraf, Guppe, Laskiha and Mohammed-Mode, who made our dinner experiences memorable. Really everyone who we came into contact with exceeded expectations!

There are no words to describe how SUPERB this resort is. My husband and I are familiar with the wonderful Cheval Blanc resort in St. Barths but nothing could prepare us for our experience at Randheli. Everything about the place is just magical - the villas, the spa, the beaches, the food, the cocktails and more than anything...the EXCEPTIONAL staff who made our holiday (with special thanks to Eunice, Pedro, Lele, Sam, Stephanie, Simone, Daniel and Laurent - there are far too many names to mention!) The service is second to none and the staff will go above and beyond to make your stay as special as possible, you really have to experience it to believe it. We loved every single minute of our holiday and were absolutely devastated to leave (we can’t wait to return!) If you stay anywhere in the Maldives - this IS the place. Simply spectacular and you will have amazing memories to cherish forever. Best holiday ever!
