Nestled amidst stunning beaches and forests, Tui Magic Life Calabria garners appreciation for its tranquil setting, albeit some deem it a bit out of the way. While the resort's cleanliness and amenities receive high marks, highlighting pristine facilities and diverse dining options, guests consider the costs steep for the services provided. Rooms are commended for being spotless and roomy, yet comfort is sometimes compromised by subpar beds and temperamental air conditioning. Service experiences vary, ranging from commendable to disorganized. The lively ambiance, complete with entertainment and events, is enjoyed by many, though it may border on overwhelming for those seeking serenity.

Warning a long 1 as so much to say about this great hotel..
We have just returned after 2 great weeks and we are missing it already..
On arrival cocktail or soft drink on offer, luggage is taken to your room and available in around 2hrs so take a small bag with pool gear to change into..
We had 2 rooms in block 5,a double for ourselves and a twin for our 2 boys 16 & 18 yrs. Both rooms a good size with a/c tv and balcony,on arrival you get 2 large bottles of water, 2 cans of coke & 2 fanta in the mini fridge..
The hotel and grounds are very well kept and i have never seen so many staff at hand to serve and clean the property, there was even 5 ladies cleaning the gym every morning..
The buffet for breakfast, lunch & dinner is very good at every meal with so much choice and plenty of variation that you would have to be very picky to find fault with it..
The beach bar is especially nice to have lunch and sundowners.
The trattoria is great for afternoon pizza and a speciality restaurant at night but it really good do with some ceiling fans for the evening as it's so hot it's uncomfortable to eat..
Sport and activities we'll there's loads to do. Every day our boys did gym, water polo and afternoon football playing with lads from all over Europe..
The boys & I did 2 mountain bike tours the 1st was a level 2, which was around 30km in 2hrs and that was tough so a few days later we did the level 3,40+ km in 2.5hrs and omg that was a challenge. The route and scenery are amazing so would definitely recommend as long as you have a good level of fitness to enjoy it..
Archery with Ben is very good fun as are the yoga classes in the forest. We did a fair few of the aerobic classes in the open air studio. We are a very active family and what this hotel offered definitely hit the mark..
We hired a car for 2 days though the tui office as they are much cheaper that the onsite hire office in the next room..
We always hire a car wherever we go but here was a must really as there is not much within walking distance to go to anyway.. Pizza,Tropea & Capo Vaticano all beautiful locations but take the back roads and coastal villages are great to see..
The beach at the hotel is beautiful with warm water and plenty of fish to see when snorkeling but be aware in shelves deeply after only a metre from shore so you need to be a confident swimmer to go out far but there is always lifeguards in hightowers keeping an eye out..
Thanks to all staff and entertainers a fab hotel and we would definitely recommend 👍..

Just returned from a week-long stay here in the Private Lodge area.

The complex is quite large and split into two VERY different parts - the general family area and the much quieter and relaxed Private Lodge area.

The all inclusive food and drinks were excellent. The local beer, spirits and wine were all fine, although I wasn't personally as keen on the white or rose. The Red was great!

The buffet was extensive and some evenings the menu was better than others. Stand outs for me were the pizzas and the fish. Especially the night we had fresh swordfish!

Food is aimed at the majority German visitors but has sufficient Italian additions to remind you that you're in Italy.

The staff were great - I speak a little Italian and so had no problems but for those speaking just English or German, they appeared to understand what was requested.

Facilities-wise, (I can only speak of the Private Lodge area) the pool was unheated but with temps in the 28c to 32c range, this was a blessed relief! Sun loungers and parasols were plentiful and free. The pool bar was excellent for constant refreshments - a big shout out for the wonderful Annamaria who recommended the Coffee Liquer over ice. What have you started!!!! ha ha.

The grounds are spotless and constantly being cleaned and the gardeners are always tending to the extensive planting. All the staff were friendly and always wished a Buongiorno or Buona Sera.

The path to the beach is through pine forest and offers a wonderful cool walk of about 10 mins. The forest contains the Archery courts which I would recommend booking up. Very enjoyable!

The beach is wide open and the sea was clear when we were there - I have seen pictures of the sea being green with algae blooms - must be seasonal. The beach wasn't to our liking as it quite gravelly and stoney for us - just a personal preference. Again however, loungers were plentiful here and the beach bar meant you didn't have to go far for drinks and lunch.

If you feel like exploring (the complex is quite remote from anywhere built-up) you can either go on the fairly pricey TUI excursions, or get the shuttle bus to Pizzo for 10 Euros, OR you can hire a car from the TUI office on-site for just a day or two. We did this and a small car (Citroen C3) was about 150 Euros. Just remember to have your drivers licence and some ID with you of course.

Just had another fantastic fortnight in the private lodge area of the resort and couldn't recommend it more!

Ultimately it is the staff at the resort that make or break any holiday and we cannot speak highly enough of everyone who made us all feel so welcome and very well looked after throughout our stay. They all work so hard and nothing was too much effort at all. The chefs turn out wonderful food everyday with lots of lovely show cooking and provide an excellent bbq on the beach every sunday with a brilliant live band making it a great occasion.

We loved two very special meals at the Fish n Grill restaurant with fantastic sunsets and coastal views and also dined in style at the Private Lodge A La Carte restaurant on two evenings. A trip to Pizzo was great fun (taxi for 4 was 10 euros each, return) and in the resort we loved strolls through the forest to the beach and two archery sessions.

The resort is beautiful with foliage and plants throughout and the rooms were always spotless with the minibar fully replaced with bottled water & soft drinks each day, in addition to new beach towels being left in the room everyday. The pool and surrounding area in the private lodge is also absolutely beautiful, with plentiful amounts of sunbeds & parasols.

As I mentioned at the start, it is the staff who make the place so wonderful and, in particular, a big thank you to Franco, Lucrezia and all of the team in the Private Lodge restaurants, in addition to Annamaria & the bar staff.

Cannot recommend this resort highly enough and we will definitely be back to visit! Ciao for now!

The positives mattress too hard I mentioned to the Reps this was sorted very quickly with a topper.Rooms in the private lodge area are cleaned twice day, fridge is restocked daily. All the staff I came into contact with were very friendly. The grounds are kept clean and tidy. There’s a lovely walk through the woods, where there’s a quiet area. There’s plenty of sun-beds and parasols. The beach bar is well worth a visit, especially on a Sunday they have a band. This is an adult only area, it’s quiet. I used the spa twice for massages which were lovely expensive however, to use the other facilities such as steam sanna it’s €10 for an hour! That is expensive but where I’ve stayed before that is included. Having stayed at similar resorts, I decided that I would upgrade but Don’t waste your money Now for the negative, this is an extensive list. Even after paying the extra for the upgrade, you end up with less how that’s possible. Food plentiful but mediocre at best and discussing at worst. Such a disappointment. The best lunchtime meal I had was in the “family ” area. Lunchtime at the PL cold food or pizza
All the best entertainment was based over the “family area”nothing of the same quality in PL area. I paid extra for the following, cocktails made with known brands, bag of crisps, bottle of coke. You still have to pay for the “Bali” beds. PL bar has set times, even on the days we had rain so only place you’d have to go is either your room or the family area, which was too noisy for me, so ended up spending almost the whole day in my room. I asked the TUI reps about this they were told it was open when it clearly wasn’t. Oh on that note the reps aren’t allowed into the PL area. There are bookable restaurants, don’t bother with the PL one, or the Totoria.
The resort is in the middle of nowhere so be aware of that, also zero public transport, don’t be fooled there is a shuttle bus to Pizzo you will have to pay. No choice of leaving on the first bus and returning on the last, you are give a time to go and return.

Enchanting location, super relaxing experience in the private Login area, super attentive and helpful staff, special thanks to Anna Maria from the pool bar who with her smile can show you the best choice and is very attentive to all your needs, very visible and who works with a lot passion and attention. Everything is really beautiful and functional, the only flaw is the desserts, as a Calabrian I noticed that we make foreigners aware of the true flavors of Calabria on the savory side, 6 stars out of 5, but on the desserts there could be much more products with our "Calabrian citrus" flavors ” or the lace truffle which is only served if paid separately, the overly colored ice creams have little taste. I believe that a big change is needed only in pastry making in general. The reason why I can't give 5 stars is that there is a lack of NUTELLA in the buffets and preparations, and I believe that for a 4-star structure of this size and certain profits it would not be so tragic to offer Nutella, a product that is now more than traditional and historian known and requested by all young and old.

It is a terrible hotel in our eyes.
The pool is not suitable for children. At no point can the children go to the pool alone, except via a ladder. It's full everywhere. The loungers are placed close together.
The most terrible thing is the restaurant. The ambience makes you feel like you're at MC Donalds. On the table are jugs with knife, fork and spoons as well as a cheap napkin dispenser. The food is inedible except for a few things. It's incredibly loud. The images are not consistent with reality.

The nicest was the kids' disco in the evening. They made her nice. However, the size lacks personal connection to the children. This is not for us.

We've arrived back from Italy as a couple on holiday at Magic Life. The hotel was aimed at families more than anything, but I enjoyed it still. Pleasant atmosphere during day and evening, music was great and evening shows enjoyable. The dancers were great, especially Coco! The gardens and beach were beautiful. Couldn't fault the scenery.

The rooms were very clean, but the cleaners definitely came around too early in the morning. Especially if you have had a late night, you don't want to have to think about a cleaner knocking on your door between 8.45-9.15.

Drinks were average but pleasant for all inclusive. Stay away from the red wine! The check in was chaotic and many families were waiting between 12-3 for their room. Luckily we got in our room straight away. I would recommend taking a rucksack with a change of clothes in.

There seemed to be a wasp problem outside the restaurant which meant you couldn't sit there morning until night. We always ended up sitting inside which wasn't the best atmosphere. There was a lack of candles/lightning on an evening which would have really brought it together. Booking a restaurant is impossible but we were able to eat at the Italian which was average with a small menu. The Fish and Grill was lovely and too good to be true for free, we ended up paying 160 euros for 2 people including a bottle of wine. Thankfully it was a great experience with a violinist but watch out if you're not planning on spending that.

Lastly, there was 2 nights that included fireworks. On one of them, there was a sense of uneasiness as people were concerned about the noise, especially those eating outside who couldn't see what the commotion was. You could clearly see people running for their families and standing up etc, it was alarming and I'd recommend taking them away altogether, especially in the world we live in now and the lack of security at the main gates.

Second time at TUI Magic Life Calabria Private Lodge. I can only spend positive words for every aspect of the village especially for the adults only area called Private Lodge. I start from cleaning: the rooms are cleaned several times a day, the avenues and common areas are cleaned continuously and you literally do not see a single leaf on the ground. Maintenance is constant, it is not difficult to see the gardeners at work and the various maintainers. The education of all the staff is to be emphasized. Several restaurants are available, in the Private Lodge only guests of this area can access while the others are accessible to everyone. The food is high quality, always varied and many things are expressed and not precooked. Pizza is always available. In the Private Lodge Buffet every evening dinner has a different theme .. from fish to Mexican. The pools are very large and the adults only area is an oasis of peace. An honorable mention goes to Annamaria of the pool bar, always with a smile, to Anna Maria of the breakfast buffet, affable and nice, to Davide and Filippo, chefs of the restaurant, Vittoria, nice and punctual and Isabella in charge of the Prvivate Lodge Buffet. The whole structure is constantly cared for by Deputy Manager Annalisa who maintains a high level of excellence.
Small notes to improve: the pillows in the rooms are too low and uncomfortable. The animation is not up to the structure. I understand that the Resort is designed for German and English users but entertainment suitable for a local audience would not hurt. The pasta cook in the Private Lodge dinner is a bit slow and you create a queue.

Good.
We stayed at this resort for 2 nights and three days. However, we immediately encountered problems with the room reservation or with the room itself. The third bed was literally placed in a closet without air conditioning and without windows. We reported this to the reception but no one took action, so we did it ourselves..
The location is very pretty and particular, a large village and you reach the sea with a few minutes' walk, crossing a wonderful pine forest where there are various interesting and relaxing activities.
The food is decent, there isn't a huge variety, it's mainly based on the foreign type of eating. Carbonara and Matriciana absolutely anonymous. The first one I mentioned looked like pasta with bechamel, the second literally looked like pasta with sauce.
There are other negative notes:
Everyone can dive in the pool, inflatable dinghies are allowed and there is no need for swimming caps (which are mandatory in most villages/hotels.)
The cat hotel is very nice, but you need to pay more attention, especially to children who treat cats really badly (throwing them in the air to get them into the enclosure and even putting them on vases).
Obviously there are also some positive notes:
The room is very clean (except obviously in the unreachable places), technological and spacious.
However, the pillows are a board so it is quite difficult to fall asleep. Even the TV light when turned off is very annoying.
Would I go back? I think so.

We stayed for a week as a family of 3. Our room was a standard double room which was nice, spacious and kept very clean.

On arrival the staff work hard to ensure that your cases get delivered to your room and on your departure there is the option for them to be collected from near your block and delivered to the reception. This was a welcomed service.

We really enjoyed the variety of food in the restaurant and the staff both serving and cleaning were polite, helpful and cheery. It was nice to have a chance to be served the ice cream and meant it was kept fresh and limited portions.

We only tried the Italian restaurant which was lovely food and one person in our family had an allergy was which was well catered for. Nothing felt like too much hassle and adapted the starter and main course.

Swimming pools the main pool is quite deep, but the relaxation pool is just that and we spent most of our time there. Always got a sunbed.

The beach has good facilities and the bar is great to see the sunset.

The woods a calming and the hammocks are relaxing. We tried beginners archery and it was a great experience thanks to Jay Jay.

You can get a shuttle bus to Pizzo which I would recommend it is cheap and a pretty place to visit. I would recommend the independent ice cream shop on Piazzetra Gariealdi for the Tartufo it was the cheapest but not only that the friendliest of greeting and lovely owners.

The only couple of bits I would recommend to plan for is the mossies and that the mattress was quite hard. It was a lovely place to spend some family time together.

Just came back from here. Genuinely can't remember seeing an HDMI port but I'm sure there will be one - you could definitely get to the back of the TV as I pulled the plug out to turn off the annoying blue led light :) Hope the weather holds - ours was forecast as poor but turned out to be in the 26c to 30c range.
