Located north from Male, within the constellation of islands that form the Noonu Atoll, Velaa Private Island brings a new meaning to "private moments" in the Maldives. Here the essence of Maldivian culture, lifestyle and landscape meets limitless opportunities, where no request is too much, and each guest will ultimately feel that this is their own private island. Comprising 43 private villas and 2 four-bedroom residences fusing local materials and contemporary flourishes, each retreat offers a generous outdoor space and private pool. While 18 villas are built over water, the Romantic Villa is the only exclusive villa that is reached by boat. Our Residences are the only 4-bedroom residences in Maldives, accommodating up to 10 people offering elegant contemporary design and 1,350 SQM of interior and exterior space, incl. 2 terraces, a pool and a courtyard. For the epicurean, Velaa Private Island boasts the culinary consultancy of Michelin-star chef Adeline Grattard from Paris, and the most extensive wine cellar in the Indian Ocean. With 3 restaurants, 2 bars and 1 wine cellar, every palate is sure to be satisfied. The spa, in addition to featuring exclusive My Blend by Clarins products and treatments, will showcase the first 'snow room' in the Maldives and comprises six secluded treatment rooms nestled over the island's turquoise lagoon. Two cloud-shaped reclining treatment pods by Klafs and Sha will also be featured in the spa, which slowly sway and cradle guests into deep relaxation. Golf enthusiasts will be treated to the only Short Game Golf Academy in the Maldives. Designed by professional golfer and two-time Masters champion Jose Maria Olazabal, golfers can craft their game in the middle of paradise.

This is definitely a 5 star experience. The staff were absolutely wonderful, especially our butler Muiz. The food is amazing! Our over the water sunrise villa was spectacular and every detail was coordinated to perfection! I cannot say enough positive things about this exclusive resort except…come to Velaa!

We have stayed several times now at Velaa Private Island, usually around October/November and the weather has always been good with a few cloudy days in a 2 week period. Stunning resort from the welcome to the incredibly stylish villas. The food and service is exceptional and the butlers can't do enough for you. The Spa was out of this world with world class therapists. I've been meaning to write this for a while and apologise to the hotel and also SeyExclusive for always booking our trips and making everything so seamless. Will be booking again as we have missed it so much. Thank you to everyone.

The hotel proudly deserves 5*. The rooms are very beautiful and spacious. Every villa has a backyard with garden and terrace with a roof - nice chilling area . Breakfast is amazing with no limit in time . What we didn’t really enjoy that much was the Japanese restaurant on the 3 floor, as the smell of kitchen beneath went up and you’re having dinner in that steams of garlic . We honestly passed our thought to the hotel ,when asked , they kindly offered to take it from the bill , but it was not done . Anyway the island and service is top. The menu has a hint of former Soviet Union with its well-known dishes , if you have nostalgia - it’s the proper place with decent interpretation . Feels like time stops for a while on the island, no hustle at all . Among minor minuses is quite a poor reef , as the island is man built , we are not a dedicated snorkelers- that’s not a problem for us

Dear Dariya K Thank you very much for your wonderfully positive review! At Velaa, we take great pride in our culinary excellence. Pairing only the best produce the world has to offer, and a passionate team of highly-skilled chefs, with the result being a thorough gastronomic delight! With this in mind, I am saddened to hear that not all our dining experiences met your expectations and will be sure to address how this can be improved for the future. We are very fortunate to be a natural island with a rich history, having been home to a traditional Maldivian chili plantation in the past. We like to share this history with all our guests when they visit our authentic coral house on-island. Should you find yourself dreaming of our pristine white sands and turquoise waters, I warmly welcome you back to the island for another wonderful holiday. With my best personal regards, Wayne Milgate General Manager Velaa Private Island Maldives

This was my second time in this gorgeous hotel. First time I have been there for a couple's trip, but this time we went as a family, with our kids (6 and 9yo). Everybody who travels with kids know that this version might not seem so glam as traveling alone, but in this specific hotel, the scenario was the opposite. I can say that we enjoyed the same level of comfort and we were able to relax the same. First of all, the kids loved the kids club. From 09 to 18:00 they had plenty to do and because they had the activities previously defined in a schedule, they could choose the best time to go in and out the club. Our fantastic butler, Ayya, would pick them up by trolley and bring they back whenever they wanted, so it gave us peace of mind. And, OMG, what is the covered water park? Kids had tons of fun! And thanks to Mish, we have some private dining moments =) as she was assigned as the kids babysitter for after woking hours of the club. The room also was very nice, a 1 bedroom deluxe villa on the sand. I can say that because of the shadows of the trees and the sand around that was a smart choice for families (I've been overwater before, and it's amazing, but I thought with the kids I would need more external space this time). All I have to tell you, is that everything is super well taken care off, they clean the place and the outside 2 times a day, the beach itself is fantastic - you can just snorkel out from your room for some meters and you reach the reef - and every detail makes you feel at home. The restaurants are amazing. From the casual ATHIRI where everyone knows you by name (a big thanks to Afsah and Daghey for their special attention to the kids) and you're served the impressive breakfast buffet, to the teppan TAVARU and to the fancy ARAGU (the most beautiful location I have ever seen for a restaurant in my life), everywhere you served like a star, but without that arrogant air. And what to say about the Easter party? Unforgettable, the most impressive and huge and well served buffet in history (did I mention I don't usually like buffets? So you can imagine the food and service for me to say I have just loved it). The water sports keeps being impeccable, and Paola was a fantastic private guide for 3 fabulous dives, and helped me out ceaselessly during all of them. Again, there is nowhere else where you can play tennis in Maldives under a sheltered court, with giant fans, cold water and towel... The hotel was working fully booked but you could not guess that, because the service was again impeccable. I also loved to be able to land by private international flight at Maafaru Airport and take a 35min boat drive to the hotel. I really hope you're able to start having fuel in the airport, so we don't need to stop-over in Male to refuel =) Every single worker in the hotel greets you with a giant smile, I mean, everyone. And your butler is there to help you 24/7 by the phone in the villa or his WA. Whatever you ask for, they are always trying to get back to you with the best solution possible. And again, it's a very expensive hotel, but worths every single penny you spend there. As per covid situation, we were tested before leaving our country and upon arrival. Then it looked very weird to remove the masks once in the boat, but after sometime it felt like normal life again. I really needed it. Special employees highlights: AYYA (amazing butler), AFSAH and DAGHEY (awesome waiters), PAOLA (incredible scuba diving guide) and MISH (extraordinary care giver at the kids club).
