Extremely friendly people. Barry and his wife opperate and own this small hotel and they would do anything they can to make sure you have a wonderful stay. I stayed there on and off for 4 months during my internship/volunteer work. The rooms consist of a two person bed, shower, toilet, sink and a small table with a TV. Rooms...

The rooms are clean. There was hot water in my room. I enjoyed being right in the heart of Waspam. The owners have a restaurant for their guests staying. We have grown to love visiting with their whole family. The price is excellent.

I went there on a business trip and after a 4 hour journey on a horrid road, the hotel provided adequate facilities to recuperate. Although the hotel is nothing spectacular, but considering other options in Waspan, it is indeed the best. The rooms were generally smallish but I got the biggest one with 2 beds as that was the only...

Recently stayed in September, 2014, and January, 2015. Rooms were as clean as all times before and the food was again outstanding. Barry and Irma Watson still do a tremendous job of providing room and board for an excellent price. It feels like a home away from home.

I have been taking teams to Waspam to do faith based humanitarian work among the Miskito Indians on the Rio Coco for the past few years. Irma and her husband have always taken great care of us! There are issues with power and such that are beyond their control, but they have always made us feel welcome and they set...

With a team of seven, Hotelito El Piloto was our base for 6 days in the RAAN with the wonderful Miskitu people. As in the past, the rooms were very clean and comfortable. The wi-fi worked well to enable us to connect with family and friends at home. The food was again outstanding and the hospitality shown by Barry and...

Barry is a pilot who flew for many years in the region and built this 8 room hotel- each room with a/c and private bath. Clean & Comfortable! An Oasis of Hospitality! With another friend on a mission experience in the area, we stayed at Hotel El Piloto in April, 2013. As in the past, our room was spotless and the air conditioner worked very well to address the heat and humidity of the pine savannah rain forest of the RAAN. The meals were outstanding as in both previous experiences and it's...

Staying with two co-workers on a mission work experience in the area in January 2013, I again found this hotel to be a tremendous respite in the midst of the pine savannah rain forest of northeast Nicaragua. In addition to the overall cleanliness of the hotel, the food is consistently outstanding and the screened-in dining area is a tremendous benefit....

Barry Watson and his wife have created a gem in the rain forest city of Waspam. The rooms are impeccably clean. Queen size bed. I have never seen bed linens so white! Air conditioning plus a multi-speed fan keeps you comfortable on those hot and humid days. Cable TV and wireless internet are available at no charge. The dining hall...

“Understand this hotel is located in the pine savannah rain forest of northeast Nicaragua in the regional community of Waspam and is very remote. The internet is spotty at times due to the very rural location, but be patient with it. Room 11 is the best, but any room works just fine.”
