Stayed at the hostel, our room was compact but clean. Great to be able to walk up to Preikestolen late in the afternoon, when all the crowds were coming down. Enjoyed two meals in the restaurant, both fish (one lunch, one evening meal) which were delicious. Walked around the lake which tooks hours, but was amazing. The lake view from... More

The lodge is a great position for the walk but as its only a 4 hr walk I would recommend staying away from what is a captive resort and drive in. The same people own the lodge the gift shop and the car park with nothing else there so they charge what they like so it's not good value for... More

Hi Thank you for the review. Actually, the car park is operated by others than us. With that said, almost 300 000 People walked the trail to Preikestolen last year. The Money from the car park is spent on the trail, and there is a lot to fix between Seasons. Hope you enjoyed Your trip to Preikestolen and Trolltunga and... More

Excellent location for the hike to Preikestolen, the popular rock formation 604 metres above the Lysefjord. Preikestolen fjellstue is situated where the trail starts. The fjellstue opened 2008 and has won Statens byggeskikkpris (architecture prize).

Stayed one night en route from Stavanger to Odda. Operates as hostel and hotel so be prepared for a few things that may surprise those used solely to hotel service. Stayed in a lovely room overlooking lake and had no problem sharing showers or making own bed. Staff were great, always polite and helpful. Breakfast good ( with option to... More

Let´s start with the good: - Excellent location - We hade a 4 bedroom with a beautiful view ....but unfortunately there were more bads (what is more important is up to your preference to decide) - First impression at the check-in average, not a feeling of "service minded" - We booked for 4 adults, but they did not made the... We spent there just a one night but everything was fine. The girl at reception desk was very pleasant and helpful. We slept in a dormitory and it was clean and cosy. The breakfast was great but it is everywhere where B&B is.

It took us 2 hours to get to the top. Great scenery on the way but no views from the top due to fog. It was pretty busy despite the fact it was not weekend and around 8pm. Plenty with people with kids and some were as young as 5.

We booked a room for 2 nights. Four adults shared 1 room with 5 beds, 2 of which were in a loft. Room 22 has a lovely view of the lake. The shower has frosted glass walls and you can see the silhouette of the person in the shower! Good thing it was all family. One night they had the... More

We stopped here to grab a quick sandwich and buy a rain poncho to better prepare for our hike up to Preikestolen. The sandwich was huge and filled with fresh lettuce, ham, cheese, tomato, and the bread itself was delicious (whole grain and covered in nuts, seeds etc). We ate rather quickly so did not remark much about the restaurant... More

This hostel is a gem, such a gorgeous location, beautiful buildings. I was here in April and I don't know if I was the only person checking in that day or final person but as soon as I walked up to the front desk they knew me by name which was very nice to see that they were aware of... More
