We enjoyed this small city, and this hotel was ideally situated. It is modern with all desired amenities, and a couple that are undesired: a glass door to the bathroom, which means that nighttime visits shed light throughout the room; and a marble (or similar) bathroom floor, which becomes VERY slippery when wet. We used our Minnesota walking-on-ice skills to... More

I stayed here while on a self guided hike of the Camino De Santiago and was surprised when I arrived to find such a nice accommodating place. When you are on a long hike, the places where you stay are often determined by how long you hike. This hotel was outstanding very modern and compared with nice hotels in major... More

We stayed here while on the Camino and it was wonderful! The room was clean and the shower was great. Only weird thing is that there is a little window between the beds and the bathroom where you can peep into the bathroom. Not sure why that is necessary. Location is perfect; almost directly in front of the Gaudi Palace... More

The hotel is easy to find in the middle of Astorga and almost next door to Gaudi's episcopal palace and the cathedral. The picturesque ayuntamiento and the main square are also a very short walk away from this modern, clean and comfortable hotel. At 85 euros it was extremely good value for money and we had a superior double room... More

This is probably the nicest hotel in Astorga. Very modern room, well located, nice staff, and its adjoining restaurant is good. However, because we were part of a group taking up about 10 rooms, my husband and I were put in a "handicap access" room. There's nothing wrong with that, of course, but, unfortunately for us, there was one problem... More

Great location, central to all main attractions. Lovely garden, and courtyard. Overall a very relaxing ambience to the place. Bedroom was well appointed, nice garden view, good spacious bathroom. An excellent local style bar, serving tapas & meals, is part of the hotel. Fine breakfast. Didn't use the spa but reports were good.

After 5 days on the Camino this was a perfect retreat. Great price but spotless, clean and quiet just what you need after long days walking. Booked hotel on website 2 days beforehand and requested a quiet room, all requests were accommodated and hotel location is right beside the cathedral, just perfect.

Lovely surprise when we booked this hotel. Great location, good (not great) front reception and absolutely lovely rooms. We were there during Semena Santa (Holy Week) which was fantastic for the processions but not so good for parking - I don't think they normally ahve that problem. The restaurant attached however not that great - lots of other good choices.... More

Located right opposite Gaudi Palace, the stylish spaceous rooms were a pleasant surprise to us. Very clean, very big, friendly customer service and a sound breakfast variety (full with local treats) this hotel will surely see us again. Thanks.

As we walked the Camino most of the hotels we stayed at were very comfortably basic, as my other reviews will attest. The Hotel Spa Ciudad de Astorga set a high standard. I assume that the hotel is fairly new - if not, then it's had some recent refurbishment. We were only in Astorga for the one night, but a... More
