I have no idea why my previous review has disappeared. I have had no notification or objection. In short, this place is miles from civilisation in the form of any reasonable taxi, middle of nowhere and no use for anyone who isn’t driving
Hotel is understated and modern looking. Rooms were good apart from our air con not cool enough. My wife enjoyed some great spa treatments. Played a Chateau course and it was very challenging and enjoyable. Staff very friendly the bar and restaurant were good with great views over the course
We came here to play the 2 golf courses and stay the night The golf personnel did not call to tell us that the greens were sanded and aerated The hotel personnel was not helpful in the matter and couldn’t care less Regarding the Golf courses, les chateaux was uneventful but les vignes was fun The hotel was nice and the restaurant as well... don’t go out of your way for this
Stayed one night on our way to the South, we decided to stop to this hotel to enjoy calm and nice view but also have a taste of good local food and wine. We naturally booked the hotel restaurant for the evening and informed that we needed a chair for the kid (14 months). We arrived at the restaurant, no chair was available, we have been put at the back of the restaurant while the terrace was all empty. Not impressed by the raw salmon without any seasoning and the gambas over salty. Finally, no recommendation was given on the wines... First time in that hotel and probably last time regarding poor service quality.
We enjoyed our stay at Golf Du Medoc but unfortunately The weather wasn’t kind to us and we had rain and thunder and lightning. The swimming pool however was very nice as was the local wine tasting. The rooms were very nice and the staff very friendly,
Coupes stay, playing golf, eating and drinking locally. Good value in Golf, food and Wines. Wine prices appropriate, superb local choices. Golf pace of play was excellent, but one course closed on weekend (Chateaux) for a group = both days = was really unacceptable to my idea.
We spend six days at Golf du Medoc, playing golf on two great courses. BUT, the resort is literally in the middle of no-where and without a car, you are 45 to 60 minutes from Bordeaux with no local taxi service, so even if you just want to go nearby for dinner, you need to order a taxi from Bordeaux at 60+ Euros each way. So if you stay, plan on either renting a car or doing everything at the resort.
This is only the second review I have ever. Stayed here for 7 nights. The Good: - Breakfast & Dinner - Golf course ok but not magnificent - Room size ok but without balcony / golf view The Bad: - Our room didn't have the balcony & golf view we had booked! - No ceiling lights in bedroom part! - TV could be larger! - Shower slippery with loose pillar & without support wall handles! - Over priced local Medoc wines! - Gym & swimming pool far too small! The Ugly: - All previous Sofitel Mgallery hotels have given us 2 free bottles of water in the fridge per day - but apparently they'll charge us in this hotel!
We are driving to Spain and stopped here mainly because dogs are welcome and we have our border terrier with us. We arrived late and were given a very warm welcome. We opted for room service sitting outside on the balcony. Food was delicious. We had a lovely walk wit the dog and an early night. Good sleep in very comfy bed. Again breakfast in the room which was really good. Nothing forgotten. Obviously hotel is geared up for golfers and the course looked a lot of fun. Would be very happy to stop here again.
