The Tigh an Truish is a wonderful pub steeped in history and character. It serves good food, has real ale and a good standard of accommodation. If you are looking for polished luxury then this place isn't for you but it is a gem of a place, a centre piece in the community, and a warm welcome. I have spent...

Great location just over the bridge on Seil island and having a great wee bar with unusual corner bench and good atmosphere. Loch Fyne ale on draught as well as bigger range in bottles and a variety of usual beers and a fair range of food. My ham sandwich was superb and came with side salad and my wife's soup...

We stayed at a self catering cottage at Clachan Seil, and chose to walk to the pub for a meal that we pre-booked and were told the kitchen closed at 20:00 (very odd attitude I thought). My partner had fish and chips and I had steak and ale pie with a crust top. Service was good but what we didn't...

Since we were staying on Seil Island and I'd read about this place in an AA guide I was keen to give both the food and beer a try. Location is stunning by the bridge over the Atlantic. The pub is rustic inside which is how it should be. Beer was well kept (Orkney red McGregor) and the langoustines I...

This pub is ideally located overlooking the splendid, 220 year old, hump-backed bridge which, with its single track and blind crest, provides a certain frisson for drivers. We tried the daily special of mussels which was generous and very reasonably priced. Scottish mussels are unique because, although fairly small, they are exceptionally sweet. There is a fine selection of beers....

What can i say. We've stayed here numerous times. The first time in the pub where you have a cosy self contained flat which is really quaint an cosy an have your breakfast left as raw ingredients for you to cook yourself when you want it, fresh eggs bacon, tomatoes, fruit juice, bread an jams everything you need. The last...

After an evening meal here, we were left disappointed and agreed we would not return. There were a few positives to the meal: the portions were generous and my steak was tasty and well cooked (if served a little cold - the butter sauce failed to melt over the steak); the sticky toffee pudding was delicious and the pub is...

We went there for a family lunch and sat in the very pleasant garden with our dog. The beer was great and although the menu had been cut down since our last visit in 2014 there was good pub grub on the menu. Most of us had the fish and chips which was excellent and more than enough for lunch....

I stopped here in my motorhome as part of a 4 week tour of Scotland and can honestly say this was the best by far The new owners gave the warmest welcome of anywhere I stopped could not do enough! It has a wonderful old world charm and feel of a real Inn and I hope that they retain its...

My sister, niece and I spent a wonderful 4 hours on the Seil Whale Tour with David, Jean and Clare... and having worked up a fair appetite watching all kinds of wildlife including minky whales and sea eagles, decided to go down the road to have lunch in what appeared to be a beautiful old pub in an ideal location..and...

“We were surprised to find we had our own kitchen and breakfast was self-service. Also our room was a little quirky - perhaps understandable in an old inn, but worth checking whether this type of individuality is what you want.”
