Just returned from a week staying at the Acrotel Athena Pallas (Armonia) . This is the first time staying in a hotel environment as normally stay in a self catering villa; so was concerned with several things like feeling overwhelmed with people, how I’d cope with the food etc but I have to say I found it all perfect! The resort is beautifully designed and feels very intimate; I was very happy with our room, especially the fab air conditioning and loved the allocated sunbeds in full sun. I noted a previous criticism on a previous review relating to their beds in the shade; all it would take is a flag to put on parasol to say “free to use” for those in the sun whose “owners” are perhaps out for day or down on the beach so that those in shade know they can use etc?
The staff were all very welcoming and friendly. All in all it was very relaxing break, even more so that I did not have to lift a finger with any cooking or cleaning!
Beautiful sunsets and lovely sunrise swims in the warm sea.
Enjoyed the hike into the hills of which you can obtain maps and info via reception.
Loved the various swings and photo opportunity areas.
Enjoyed the food; especially the desserts and happy to report just a 4lb weight gain! Please inform Fani of this lol!
If I had just one criticism if would be that the packed lunch did not mirror the standard of food had at breakfast, lunch and dinner and personally had I been given a box/wrapping I would have preferred to create my own lunch from breakfast! I had white bread in my packed lunch (no choice) and I don’t eat this; the sandwich was not cut etc and no choice given.
Also, it may be worth considering one free access pass to spa facilities per visit as this may then open up more people booking again /using services and treatments? Just a suggestion?
Thank you all for a wonderful break!

We arrived in early April, one day after the hotel had opened for the season, so it was reasonably quiet when we were here. Worth bearing that in mind when reading this review.
The hotel is in Elia Beach, near Nikiti, and it took us about an hour to get here from Thessaloniki airport. We used Welcome Pickups, who we have found reliable and reasonably priced. Cost was about €100 each way.
The area is quite rural and unspoilt with a rugged coastline and clear waters - really very pretty. Most of the beaches are at least part shingle but we were told that there were sandy beaches at Neo Marmaras which is about 15 mins drive away. We were lucky with the weather - about 23C each day, which we were told was unusually warm.
The hotel itself consists of a large reception area, downstairs from which is a small bowling alley, a games area with air hockey, table football, a pool table and Tekken, and a fitness suite. The kids animation (which runs throughout most days) is also located here. Next to reception is the pool, a pool bar and seating area, and beside that are two small restaurants areas. Further through and you find all of the accommodation, a small shop selling inflatables, goggles, some clothes, crisps, chocolate, wine, beer, ice cream and souvenirs, and what we think was a taverna (it didn’t look very open so we didn’t try it). Then to the side of the hotel is the main restaurant.
We loved this hotel for a number of reasons. Although our room was quite basic (we got a junior suite which had a double bed in one room, a double sofa bed in the living area, and a bathroom), it was comfortable, spacious enough, with TV, fridge, hot drink facilities and a good shower. There was good wifi throughout the resort. It was private and little noise from neighbours. The pool was heated, and whilst not huge was never too busy. Service from the pool bar (light food, snacks, and drinks) was excellent. The staff were warm and friendly but efficient. The food at the main restaurant was a little repetitive, but there was a wide range and the quality was great.
Our only criticisms were minor - plates got taken away very quickly at meal times, we had a problem with the lock in our door, and the beach was too stony for our kids to enjoy fully. Because it was out of season the neighbouring towns were pretty quiet, but I expect they get busier as the season goes on.
Excellent place for a relaxing stay at a good price.

The hotel is in a beautiful and peaceful location with easy access to the beach where beds and parasols are available free of charge. The grounds and rooms are immaculately kept, staff are so friendly and helpful and the food in the restaurant is exceptional. We stayed in the Armonia Suites which were fantastic each having either balcony or terrace set around an exclusive pool with bar and 2 allocated sunbeds per room. This hotel certainly deserves its 5 star rating. We can't wait to go back!

This hotel is rated 5* I believe this is down to the hotels own rating and gets based on facilities and things rather than being awarded from an independent group. The hotel is about an hour and half from the airport we had a group transfer booked but knowing what we do now I’d maybe rent a car for a week, this hotel is basically in the middle of nowhere! On arrival we got checked in and given a cold drink which was lovely and they helped us to the room with our bags (we paid city tax but we’re expecting this but think that is standard across Greece) the room was spacious and clean with free toiletries, paper slippers, robes and beach towels. There was a sandwich in the room as it was about 11pm this was lovely with a free bottle of water. There was an expensive mini bar in the room which was also small so no room to keep your own drinks in or any snacks if you needed to, there was a kettle and a coffee machine which stated if you needed a refill this was 10euros so we didn’t use this. Really nice spacious balcony with chair and tables, air con in the room and was cleaned each day with fresh towels etc. one fault with the room was that the drains smelt bad this was mentioned to reception who just said well cleaners come everyday! We played tennis twice (20euros per hour) there was also badminton and crazy golf and ping pong all at extra changes but we didn’t do these, there is a program to do them with the animation team! Pool was slightly heated so the kids enjoyed this but pool area very dirty! The food was buffet style restaurant and we were half board the food was ok nothing special or out of the ordinary we managed to find something each night and they did a kids corner of chips pizza fish fingers etc you are not allowed to take drinks in with your evening meal and they drinks are very expensive so just factor that in I went to the gym once it was ok machines old and rusty but weights were ok There’s a game centre with air hockey, pool and bowling(5euros per 15 mins) Overall not luxury 5 star and lots of extra costs but amazing staff

Full marks for middle of the night check-in, cleanliness, quiet ambiance and helpful staff. Especially the Guest Relations staff we met: Kornelia and Anastasia. Unexpected and free snack on arrival and afternoon lunch box on departure - very thoughtful. Good wi-fi. One bottle of water per room provided. Chose this hotel for the excellent reserved sun beds with thick mattresses denoted by the guests room number on the parasol. System worked well for us.
Unexpected choice of 5 pillow types and luggage scales - neither need for us. Buffet restaurant - good choices, some veg very overcooked. Hotter food preferred with more Greek national dishes such as kleftico and souvlaki. Breakfast drinks are not juices. Good coffee machines.
Drinks prices, including bottled water high so we purchased few.
Room for improvement - ban smoking throughout the property - isnt this an EU law? Outdoor smoking in the semi covered bar area meant we had to leave the Greek night entertainment which we could barely see anyway as no spotlights on the performers. Ban smoking inside the a la carte restaurant.
Ban guests dogs.
Advise guests they can also visit and use some facilities at no extra cost at the two the sister hotels nearby possibly using your shuttle mini bus Suggest the “Residence” which is accessible by your room card is made adults only with no bar music so creating a truly quiet zone.

We have just returned from a holiday at this wonderful resort and wanted to share our experience... Firstly, I was a bit concerned about going to a big resort, my husband has mild alzheimer's and gets overwhelmed with large places with lots of people, especially at mealtimes. I needn't have worried, although the complex is big it doesn't have the feeling of being big, mealtimes were relaxing and 'civilized'. The staff were extremely helpful, especially the guest relations team, a special thanks to Anastasia and Irini who went over and above to help us with trips and advise us on local attractions. Breakfast was good, we opted for half board as there wasn't a great different in the price - the evening meal was good, what you might expect from a buffet style meal, lots of choice but not exceptional. We ate one night in the Limoni restaurant which was excellent and reasonably priced with great views. Amazing sunsets from the terrace in the evening. The grounds are beautiful and very well maintained. The room was spotlessly clean and comfortable. There is a shuttle to the 2 local towns, both definitely worth a visit, TIP: the taxi is the same price as the shuttle. Both towns have a sandy beach, you need to pay for sunbeds, we went in a heatwave so needed the shade of the sun umbrellas! The hotel's private beach is shingley and very narrow, I would recommend getting there before 11.00 a.m. if you want a sunbed. We had taken some beach shoes and actually liked this beach as it was quieter and more relaxing, you can order drinks on the beach. Access down to the beach involves a lot of steps, not so good for anyone with a disability. I would recommend the Blue Lagoon boat trip, which was reasonably priced at €45 each including transfers and lunch, the lunch was surprisingly good - unlike many similar trips we have been on.

We have just spent 10 nights at The Acrotel Athena Pallas On arrival we were upgraded Our Suite was really lovely with our own sun beds and use of an exclusive pool. The restaurant food was really good and a wonderful array to suit all tastes freshly Cooked fish and meats and wonderful selection of salads The staff in the restaurant were very efficient The hotel itself is beautiful with a lovely seating area in the main reception and the surrounding grounds are typically Greek and so well maintained. The beach is very narrow but Perfect for a chilled out day and the swimming was amazing Snorkeling is a must and you need beach shoes as its a stoney beach. Because of the time of year entertainment was limited Having said that it was very good and both nights the artists were brilliant and very professional. We will definitely return If you want a chilled peaceful holiday then this is the place to go

Beautiful Hotel in breath-taking & serene location in Halkidiki !
Our upgraded full board stay in their Residences was truly fantastic. Food and service were extraordinarily good throughout and all the staff, without exception, were very professional and courteous at all times with marvellous eye for the smallest details. Our only criticism and this is a really management issue is that prices for bar drinks and hotel activities were prohibitively expensive and did not represent good value for money.
If this were addressed it would encourage more 'in- house' spending by hotel guests.

From the excellent facilities and service, extremely helpful and polite staff, our 10 day stay was relaxed and enjoyable. The mood around the pool was chilled out and peaceful. The private beachfront was beautiful with unspoiled beauty, serene with connection with nature. 30 mins walk gets you to 2 more beaches with golden sands. Bus rides of 15/20 mins gets you to the towns of Nikiti and N.Mamaras. A brilliant stay

We stayed at the hotel for a week and thoroughly enjoyed it! The rooms are spacious and clean. The beds and pillows are very comfortable, they provide beach towels without extra charge. The food was good but not outstanding. The beach is narrow and pebbled so make sure you take swimming shoes with you, but it was very conveniently located, clean and ideal for children. We even went to their sister hotel's beach a couple of times which was very nice as well. Georgia in the restaurant was always smiling and very nice! Alexandra in the pool bar was also lovely and kind. All staff were to be honest. We rented a care which was the best decision to go to nearby areas like Marmaras and Nikiti.
