Built in a country house style, the resort boasts 1000 square meters of thermal and sports swimming pools, a sauna and steam bath area delimited by the walls of an old travertine quarry. Waters are piped and chilled, and maintain their beneficial and healing properties intact: they are used for packs, hydro massages and mud therapy. The range of aesthetic treatments is wide – from the classic beauty treatments to fitness programs with different intensities; from holistic techniques for the well-being of body and mind to thermal treatments. Ayurveda is the pride of the spa: besides custom massages, you can also be examined by professional Indian doctors who, after a long session, give advices on the best health tips and diet to reach a psycho-physical well-being.The cookery is in tune with the general atmosphere. Thanks to a mix of original recipes from the Tuscan tradition and well-balanced solutions, food at Adler is divine, healthy and tasty at the same time.

I normally do not write reviews, but after doing research on this place, I felt I should give you a perspective. There is a reason why the majority of people have given Adler 5 stars, because it is 5 stars! When I read the complaints, they were whining about bad bookings, etc. Rooms, are very very nice, lots of room, comfortable beds, awesome showers (rain head plus), high end faucets etc. The grounds are fantastic, the pools and spas are incredible. There are only so many rooms, so it is never busy in the pools. Food is outstanding, and all you need is the breakfast (which runs to 11am), there is a snack at 4pm and then dinner between 7:30-9:30). Lots of options, fantastic wine selections. There are tons of things to do, hiking, fitness classes, e-bikes, wine tours. Or just chill by the pool and go to one of the 10 different saunas, or the many different spa treatments. Or go to one of the relaxation rooms, there are many of them and fantastic. I can't say enough good things to say about a perfect holiday! Staff are also very friendly and helpful in Italian or english..

We stayed 7 nights at Hotel Adler Therme for our honeymoon and both agree we couldn’t have picked a more perfect place! We stayed with a half board package which included breakfast, afternoon tea cakes, and a 5 course a la carte dinner. The food was absolutely incredible and without a doubt the best I have ever eaten in my life. The menu never repeated in the week we stayed, with three different choices per course to choice from each night. The wine list consisted 500 different choices which was overwhelming but impressive! The waiters were exceptionally friendly and efficient, anticipating our preferences of beer/wine/coffee each night based on our previous choices. Most staff spoke good English and didn’t look down upon our attempts to speak in Italian (however you could easily choose to speak English only). Of particular thanks goes to the restaurant staff and our regular waiters Daniele and Cerrado - I cant thank them enough for their friendliness and professionalism!! The spa and pool services also exceeded expectation, with three different style saunas and two steam rooms. We were a little nervous about the European (naked!) style of sauna, however found that you can enter wrapped in a spa towel rather than totally naked if you prefer. About half the people using the saunas chose to do this. We also had daily massage appointments booked which we enjoyed however they were consistently very light in pressure. My favourite therapist was Sylvana who not only applied good pressure, but had a warm and kind nature. You can chose to book a particular therapist if you find one you prefer. At reception desk, Sophie was particularly helpful in arranging our spa appointments and explaining sauna etiquette! The rooms are beautiful with great bathrooms. I would recommend a room on the top floor for the views over the hills. The grounds are large and immaculately kept. Even on clear warm days where the pool area was popular, there was always an excess of free loungers to choose from and it never felt crowded. There were very few kids while we visited, probably less than 5 in total, mostly between the ages of 6-12, all of whom were well controlled by their parents. This is a very quiet and calm resort aimed at relaxation, not suited well suited to children. We had a wonderful honeymoon and are already planning to return! Can’t recommend it enough!!

We spent three nights in this wonderful place: the place is a perfect combination between luxury and class. We stayed in a ground floor double superior, it was perfect. The spa is fantastic and the massages are great, with incredibly qualified masseurs. The restaurant offers all sorts of options, all excellent, ranging from cooked meals to salads. The location of the structure is spectacular, and offers the chance to take beautiful walks and explore the surrounding Tuscan countryside.

I’ve stayed at a number of spa hotels including some natural hot springs spas in Germany, US, England and Canada. None compare to the entire package this hotel offers. The surroundings are just spectacular not far south of Sienna and Pienza. The hiking/biking trails and local wineries, villages and vistas... well it heals body and soul. The food is excellent every meal had local flavorful fresh fruits and vegetables. There is a spectacular combination European and North American style breakfast buffet served until 11am so there is time to enjoy a portion of the spa before making your way over for breakfast. The dinners are full Italian style dinners which includes a salad, cheese and dessert bar that just doesn’t quit. We realized quickly that we needed to ask for the selected courses to come as smaller taste portion sizes in order to have room to enjoy each course. The number and variety of heated rooms and thermal mineral pools means you need a minimum of 3 days with no touring just to visit them all - a full week would be incredible for both the body and the spirit. There are guided outdoor programs each day and free use of e-bikes for exploring the local area. I recommend selecting a package that includes the breakfast and dinners even if you think you will only be enjoying half of them due to area touring. All ages seemed to have their own special areas to enjoy. We were a couple but would love to come back for a multigenerational family reunion. It has something for everyone. and Last but not least, the people are so very warm and helpful. We left ready to take on Florence and immediately wished we had booked more time at Adler and less time in the bigger tourist meccas of Italy. We will be back.

We are experienced travellers and have seen more than one pretty SPA resort, but Adler Thermae beats them all! The setting is breathtaking, on top of a hill in a not overrun corner of Tuscany, totally peaceful and quiet. Nevertheless you can reach lots of sights or practise almost any kind of sport within the immediate surroundings. Countless options for bike tours, hikes or sightseeing (Pienza, Montepulciano... even Siena isn't far). The hotel is a beautiful construction with natural local materials and love for details. The staff is friendly, attentive and helpful. One of our bikes got a flat tire and they managed to replace the tube that same evening! Food is very good and abundant, the restaurant has an impressive glass roof which can be opened, to transform the patio into an openair dining room. The rooms are spacious and modern, yet cosy, you won't miss a thing and feel home away from home. Finally: The SPA infrastructure is the best we ever experienced in all of Europe. You'll need several days to explore all their options, the different steam baths and saunas. One is set as glass house into an artificial pond, surrounded by massive travertin walls, they cut this whole section into the mountain, the prettiest setting we've ever seen. The huge pool with warm thermal water opens already at 8 am, so you can use it before breakfast and heading off into the vineyards, woods, hills or picturesque villages nearby. We can fully recommend this place and will for sure come back.
