Poor hospitality undermined an otherwise nice stay. We were the only LGBT couple at the resort and the divide between how the staff treated us versus other guests was apparent. On multiple occasions at the restaurant our table was ignored entirely by waitstaff which left us waiting for 45 minutes between courses and to just receive the check. This while other tables received consistent attention while we languished. The times we dined were not particularly busy and if the waitstaff could find the time to visit tables multiple times then they could have done the same with us. While it is impossible to determine if staff is homophobic or simply poorly trained (both of which have no place in an ostensibly upscale resort), the result is the same—guests feel unwelcome. In a region with as many beautiful options of places to stay, I recommend LGBT travelers who do not wish to be humiliated by being continuously ignored spend their travel dollars elsewhere. At least until Borgo Scopeto staff can drop their medieval attitudes and realize it is the 21st century.

Lovely hotel for a relaxing break. Excellent service and a beautiful room. Personally, I would have liked a wider selection on dinner menu but thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend.

Everything about this place is wonderful. Our room was extremely comfortable and clean. The grounds are beautiful, the swimming pool area was very relaxing (the background music was a bit annoying) and the bar was very welcoming. We ate at the restaurant 5 or 6 times, and although the menu was the same throughout the week (maybe a daily special would be a good idea?), the food was really good. The lunch menu was varied and the products were fresh and of good quality. The only negative on the lunch menu were the burgers (both beef and chicken) which were far too dry, we didn't like them at all. The staff in general were very good, especially the restaurant staff who were not only extremely professional, but also very nice people. They remembered our names, were helpful with their recommendations and very attentive. They were all excellent. The front of house staff could have been more 'smiley', although the girl who checked us in and out, Sara, was very nice and very pleasant. We did have one negative experience with a member of the spa staff. She was very rude to my partner who had to cancel her treatment as a result. However, this was an exception to what was overall an extremely nice welcome by all the other members of staff. All in all, we loved this place (me, my partner and our Golden Retriever) and we will be back for sure. Highly recommended. Thank you, Borgo Scopeto.

Staying for 2 weeks with 7 persons we had an amazing experience. Superb location, quite surroundings. Rooms have a perfect fitting with everything that you require, including a minibar (payment). The staff in general are just exceptional! From arrival upon departing we had all the help that we needed from the hotel staff. Concierge at the reception is also very helpful for planning activities outside of the ones from the hotel and knows the region very well. Furthermore the restaurant is exceptionally good. Very nice breakfast with almost everything fresh and alot of choice, ask after Andrea from the breakfast for the best service! Lunch is served in a very good way to, with choices for meat and salads. Diner is very wel served only the menu offering is a bit small if you are staying for more then a week. Wine choices are exceptional! Make sure to checkout the Borgo Scopeto brewery if you have time. Would definetly recommend for others and would definitely come back to this lovely place!

Although we have reached the Borgo via strade bianche, it was well worth. Close to Siena, and within the Chianti. Perfect for leisure time, and with excellent service. Unfortunately, we could stay for one night only but will definitely plan more than that for next visit.
